I have so much to say that I don't even know where to begin... I guess, were I the author in this exchange, this would delight me most: Your progress as a writer is incredible! Those who know me understand two things: I don't write many reviews (especially when authors suggest they won't/don't take criticism) and I don't give attention to fanfiction that I deem trashy in anyway (as far as plot, characterization, writing, etc. are concerned). So to say you have improved is more like saying you were pretty damn good before, and now, with this latest installment of Bonus Tracks, you've shown how great you have become as a writer.
I'm torn to shreds on whether I like these side stories or not. As single smut-infested pieces (or as a separate collection) they are incredible; were I not in love with the story of BA, I might say these stories are better, but as that would feel like blasphemy, I'll just say I like them equally as well for what they are. I don't like them as a potential future for BA because I don't like the thought of Seph losing his possessiveness or Cloud losing his star-struck adoration and for them to get some on the side I think they would have to (that's not to say that some stories don't function perfectly well with a whole cesspool of people screwing each other, I just don't think it works for *your* Cloud and Seph in your reality).
When I first started reading BA, I immediately fell in love with the punk-emo Cloud, a kid after my own heart. I almost stopped reading when I realized how excessively flamboyant he is, but I'd never really read a story anything like that and so I stuck with it and absolutely fell in love with your universe. I wish Zack had a little more air time because I think the relationship they show while he's on screen is more developed than it should be for the amount of time they've actually spent together (I also have trouble wrapping my head around Aeris's characterization, because she's only supposed to be a year older than Cloud in canon and yet she seems so much older in BA). In BBT I feel like you've toned down everyone's oddities a bit, and people seem a little more true to their "traditional AU" selves (that made sense I hope) which I both liked and disliked. Either way, the stories of both BA and BBT are excellent, but I just don't like them existing in the same reality; to appease myself, I consider BTT the AU of BA, if Cloud and Seph were not completely obsessive and possessive.
I'm really rather curious about where you intend to go with both of these stories. Since you start at the beginning of Cloud's Shinra experience, I can only guess that you mean to see him through to his promotions through SOLDIER (or his failure to get in, but the story seems too fluffy for that... not that you couldn't choose to darken it to hell) but at your current speed that's either going to require dozens of more chapters or a huge time jump (I'm really fine with either, though I do like seeing the details of their lives). I just hope you don't decide to end it at some point mid-school, because I need to know what happens to Cloud ^_~ (and if Seph goes crazy in your universe).
I still can't seem to get the club scene from the New Years chapter out of my head; I was really hoping that Cloud would go to the club without Seph, that Seph would show up later to find him dancing with some friends/random people, and then Seph would promptly tweak out. But alas! And I could just kill Cloud for even sort of fooling around with Reno and then having the stupidity to tell Seph about it! Seriously!!
Anyway... I know there were other things I wanted to say, but it always seems that they escape me the moment I sit down to write a review. Perhaps they will return later. I look forward to your next update to either BA or BTT; both make excellent homework-neglecting material. Oh! I do have one question for you: Psycho is supposed to be your version of Nanaki's (RedXIII) race, correct?
