It All Started With A Materia
This is my first fic, so plz be nice when leaving me reviews,k?^ ^; Also, I apologize for any misspellings, bad spacing, and OOCness on Sephy and probably Vinny's part...^ ^; Anywho, enjoy!=^-^=
Disclaimer: I do not own Sephiroth, Vincent, Shinra Mansion, or any of Final Fantasy VII, or the reader. I am only borrowing them for this fic.FFVII belongs to Square Soft(*blinks* someone else said Square Enix or something like that, so that too) and the readers belong to themselves and their mommies and daddies.=^-^=

I walked around the Shinra Mansion looking for the numbers the letter had spoken about. I found the last place the letter had said to look and searched the area."Ah ha! The last number is....96! Alright, now to enter the code in the safe." I said, as I got up and walked to the room with the safe in it. I suddenly felt like I was being watched and looked around the room, only to find no one. So I continued towards the room with the safe.

She nearly spotted me as I watched her. I have to be more careful not to get distracted. I watched her while she tinkered with the safe, the first time she tried to input the password she failed to get the numbers in time.
"Damn it! Stupid safe! Has to be so bloody hard to open!"
She swore as she tried again. A small smile managed to sneak onto my face as I watched her. She finally managed to get the safe open, only to be assaulted by a large monster.
"W-what the-!?" She cried as she jumped back.
Before she landed the monster grabbed her and threw her to the entrance of the mansion. She cried out in surprise and pain as she landed on a sharp piece of metal, that peirced through her left shoulder. She sat up and pulled her shoulder off the piece of metal, blood pouring out fo the wound as she walked over to the monster. I sat, ready to jump in and finish the fight, should she not be able to, but she finished it on her own.
"D-damn...where is my...cure materia?!" She groaned looking around for the materia she had dropped.
It sat right infront of my hiding spot, so I picked it up and walked over to her.
"Are you looking for this, miss?" I said as I walked over to her and held out the materia.
She didn't look at me as she took the materia and casted Cure 3 on her shoulder.
"Thank you." She said before she looked up at me.
She squeaked and her eyes grew to the size of dinner plates when she saw who she was talking to. I laughed a bit and smiled at her.
"I get that a lot. That was quite an impressive fight. Why did that thing attack you?" I asked, pretending I didn't know and hadn't been watching her this whole time.
She squeaked again and pointed to the room she had been thrown from.
"It attacked you because of something in there?"
She nodded and walked up the stairs to the room. When I walked into the room she was picking up the Buhamut materia on the floor, and hesitantly grabbed the old key in the safe, as well as a sheet of paper that was under the key in the safe. She read the letter and turned to leave.
"Wait! Do you mind if I come with you?" I asked as I grabbed her shoulder. She turned to look at me and blushed at my hand.
"S-sure. C-come on. There's a room across the house with a hidden passageway. Gotta go down the stairs to teh basement and find the guy locked down there." She said as she led me to an old room. She walked over to the stone wall and a passageway appeared. She turned to me to make sure I was following her, and walked through the door. After we decended a long spiral staircase, we found we were in an underground cave. She inched closer to me as we moved farther into the darkness. An old skeleton fell from the roof, making her scream and latch onto me as she began shaking. I blinked at her a few times and she realized she was hugging me. Her face turned ten shades of red and she squeaked, jumping away and looking at the wall beside her. She put her hands behind her back and rocked on her feet.
" I wasn't scared." She said as she continued towards the two doors.
"Mmhm. You were just making sure I wasn't, right?" I said jokingly to her.
"Right." She said, nodding to confirm what she'd said.When she got to the first door, she stopped and looked at the pattern on the door handle. "This must be the door the letter was talking about. It has a gun on the handle." She said, pointing to the gun that the pattern formed. She took the key out of her pocket and inserted it into the keyhole, just as she did, a loud sound, like something heavy being thrown to the ground, came from within the room.
