Seph's POV
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was midnight when I felt Hotaru crawl into my bed and snuggle close to me. I felt her warm breath on my naked chest as she carefully entangled her leg with mine. I moved a bit, to see what she'd do. All she did was look up at me, worried, and back away a bit.
"Hello Hotaru. Another nightmare about the coffin in the basement?" I questioned as I wrapped my arms around her.
"Uh huh..You don't mind if I stay with you tonight...do you Seph?" She asked as she looked at me.
Her eyes, brimming with tears, sparkled in the moonlight. "Of course not. Do you want to go down there tomorrow? To see that there's nothing down there?" I asked, pulling her close to me. I kissed her head and she stiffened. I knew why too. Hotaru had had a crush on me since the day we first met.
" O-okay....but only if you go too!" She whispered as she layed her head on my chest and sighed.
"Of course I'll go. I won't let you go down there alone." I said as I rubbed her back.
" You're the best Sephy....g'night...." She whispered, yawning, before she fell asleep.
"Goodnight Hotaru.....Vincent....why are you calling out to her? Is it because she looks like Lucrecia?" I questioned the darkness, as I let myself slip into a deep slumber.
"Yes Sephiroth. That is one reason.....I also love her." A shadow answered, as it moved a stray strand of hair out of Hotaru's face, then disappeared.
~The next morning, down in the basement~
"S-Seph....is that a.....s-skeleton?!" Hotaru squeaked as she latched onto my side.
" Sorry sweetheart. I forgot to tell you about those." I said as I picked her up. She squeaked in confusion and latched onto my neck. She began blushing as my hands moved down to hold her waist, brushing against her breasts. Her body was flush against mine as I held her. She turned to look around as I began walking again and spotted a door she recognized.
"Seph! That door right there! That's the one in my dream!" Hotaru said, as she buried her face in the crook of my neck.
"It's okay Hotaru, I'm right here. I won't let anything hurt you." I whispered as I shifted her. I felt her wrap her legs around my waist as I moved her a bit. I hesitantly wrapped my arm around her, and held her bottom to keep her supported while I pulled out my sword. She jumped a bit when my hand gently touched her back and she wrapped her arms around my neck even more. Even though I was nine years her senior, I still loved her, and desired her. I loved her dearly, and would keep her safe, no matter what. I opened the door that she had pointed out and stood there, in the doorway for a bit. She turned around and looked inside, squinting as she looked.
"Seph...something's moving in there....look!" She pointed to the room, just as something grabbed her from me and pulled her into the room, slamming the door shut.
"No! Hotaru!!Vincent, give her back!!" I yelled as I banged on the door.
Hotaru's POV

I landed on something sort of cushiony, yet still too solid to be comfortable. I heard a lid slam shut above me and began to panic.
"Oh no! Let me out! Please!!" I screamed as I banged on the lid, beginning to breathe a little faster. I felt a movement underneath me and stopped moving.
"W-what was that?" I questioned the darkness. I slowly turned around to face what I had felt move, only to come face to face with a pair of glowing, blood red eyes.
"Aaahhh!!!!!" I screamed as I began to frantically try to open the box I was in.
"Calm down. I have no intention of hurting you." I heard a deep voice say. It had come from the direction that the glowing eyes had been.I froze and turned to the eyes again.
"W-was that....you?I-if it was....blink twice...." I said as I watched the eyes closely. They blinked....twice.
