A Prologue of Sorts...
Author’s Note
I’m back with the first chapter of Shattered Dreams the sequel to Shattered Ice. Yay!
Let me just say first that I am very pleased by the reaction I got to Shattered Ice and it is because of you readers that I even ended it in such a way that I could write a sequel.
The angst factor in this story is higher than the other, the sex scenes hotter and more plentiful (well, once I get past the angst) and the other characters have all come back to star in bigger, better roles.
There is a greater enemy out there, one even more wicked and vicious than the Jenova-confused Sephiroth.
Love is put into question as one man searches endlessly for the man he lost and another fights to keep his.
I’m going to put all disclaimers and warnings here so they don’t interrupt the first chapter.
Oh, and the revamp of Shattered Ice... don't know when that's coming out. Have to get in the mood.
Disclaimer: I do not any of these characters, Square Enix or whatever they hell they call themselves has that wonderful delight. All I own is the plot line… Kyle Archer… a few key phrases… the true names of the ‘demi-gods’… etc. No suing because well… I’m a college student, you wouldn’t get much.

I just wanted to make note of this. I am starting out rather slow with this story to have some of a base until all the events hit our favorite characters one right after the other. I plan to have every character make some sort of appearance in a chapter. So each chapter will probably split between 2-3 entirely different scenes.
You will experience this story from many different perspective’s and unlike Shattered Ice it will not be Cid/Vincent only centric. I try to show the many different relationships that have developed including a few het… Rude/Shera, Cloud/Aeris, Reeve/Reno, Nanaki/Yuffie, plus a few new relationships.
A few won’t reappear such as Barret except for perhaps small roles. These are the ones which I haven’t given a big part for many reasons. One being I can’t get into the former AVALANCHE leader’s mind. I don’t feel like I can portray him properly. Also, Marlene and Elmyra will not be appearing unless it is a small role.

Prequel - Shattered Hearts - The story of Cid and Vincent before SI told in alternating chapters
Prequel - Shattered Boundaries - The story of Reno/Reeve before SI
Original - Shattered Ice DX - The one that started it all with at least six new chapters and two new smut scenes
Sequel to SD - Shattered Traditions - Relatively short (around 15 chapters) story of Yuffie and Nanaki
Sequel to ST- Shattered Children - Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Redone with my Shattered Universe
Plus any and all random one-shots that I can think of... you know... random PWP's just cause I feel like writing smut.
I can't say how quickly they will come out because I will only work on them one at a time. I'm real excited about SC though because the plot my beta and I have worked out is going to blow you away!!!

Just recently, I discovered that Vincent’s natural eye color is not grey, unfortunately. It’s actually a brown that is so amber it appears red in many CGI scenes and stuff. They were scientifically altered to appear red but judging from both Advent Children and stills from Dirge of Cerberus they are actually a really pretty brown color that looks like a shining red. I still think he’d be sexy with grey eyes though… Thanks I-Chan for reminding me that I had found out that info!

Just making some mentions of some details that I’ve discovered.
1) Vincent’s true last name really is Valentine so whatever… that was just a guess on my part. I can always change that part of himself if I wanted to. He had a father named Grimoire who was a scientist and knew Lucrecia prior to the Nibelheim incident.
2) His claw really is just a gauntlet, evidenced by the many changes it has and if you analyze the way it moves in Advent Children and how it appears well, he its clear he has a normal hand beneath the metal. (Did you know the Greeks used to use such a weapon in combat? It was the original inspiration for claw weapons (like Amarant’s in FF9) for the video games.)
