Cid's Insanity
He sat there, alone, with no one to accompany him. The ex-pilot sat on the roof, of the empty house, in the empty town of Rocket. The last few ashes fell from his cigarette as he flicked the filter away. The moon, high above the doomed planet, all of his friends, family, and his true loved one…
He escaped from crater when Cloud and the others fell, and that madman was on his heels, tormenting him, whispering how he would hunt all of the people he cared for in his life down, and he explained in great detail how he would use his mighty blade to slowly slice off every part of their body and tell them before they died that this was all his fault…
All the fault of a simple man…
Who wanted nothing more than to life a peaceful life…
He reached up to his goggles to the pack of cigarettes he kept in the band. “Damnit!” he cursed into the sky “That was my last…” he said as he jumped off of the roof of his house to the convenience store in the center of the small town. Instead of his spear, he carried one of his best friend’s guns, the one that this ex-pilot used to free this town of the madman’s wishes.
The very one that he used on his dearest love, he wanted to explain to her, he really did, but she started screaming, and he couldn’t calm her down…
He had to do something…
And he did…
He didn’t realize how easy it was to pull the trigger; she was flat on the ground within seconds. Soon his neighbors came to see what the commotion was about. The second shot came even easier for the crazed ex-pilot. The third was even easier, and so on and so forth.
Within minutes, the town was free of the madman’s grasp. Of course the crew of his ship came to investigate the ruckus…
They didn’t even see him pull the trigger…
So jumping over the now bloodied counter of the store, he pulled out a few packs of cigarettes and two lighters. “Hey, you all wouldn’t have anything to drink here would ya?” the pilot asked the shopkeeper, laying facedown on the counter. “Don’t bother getting up, I’ll get’em myself.”
