A Fallen Heaven
“...Kyrie. Be serious.”
“That’s not funny.”
“You guys! It’s true! I’m telling you!”
In a small group lied three women. One had short black hair and light grey eyes; she goes by the name of Kira Kisana. The over-confident and short-tempered of the group, she is easily annoyed and is a manizer.
Beside her was the second oldest one, Claire Valhart. She had middle back length dark brown hair and emerald eyes. She is the shy and optimist one of the group, deemed to be the innocent one.
Kyrie Valhart, the elder sister of Claire, had shoulder length brown hair and hazel eyes. Dubbed the aggressive and rude one of the four, she is the second for the leader.
The leader? Tis be I. My name is Endou Mayu. I had mid-back length purplish-black hair and golden eyes. I am the calm, self-possessed one. Why am I the leader? I have no clue. Kyrie used to be, but the three of them changed it to me.
“Be logical, Kyrie.” I said, crossing my arms over my chest. “Could a Playstation 3 honestly talk?”
“Maybe Riku is up to that technology.” She shrugged as Kira and I rolled our eyes. I leaned against the wall as she and Kyrie began to fight. I never stop them. They don’t really get serious anyway. Fighting is a daily thing for them.
“Kyrie, Kira... please.” Claire said, slight pushing them away from each other as they glared daggers at one another. I sighed, shaking my head. “We shouldn’t fight over this little thing.”
“If what you say is true,” I started, making them all glance at me. “We should go to our house and check it out.” I smiled. “Don’t you think?” Kyrie grinned back and we started from the park to our house.
All of us... we lived together in one house. Since we were abandoned by our abusive and drinking parents, we decided it would be best to live with each other, since that is only when we were happiest. We are like blood sisters, minus the fact that Claire and Kyrie are really. We all met thirteen years ago, when I was five. But... that’s a story for another day.
Riku, as Kyrie mention, is one and only person we trust besides each other. We met him eleven years ago and we all became friends. Sure, we tease him from time to time, telling him he’s gay ‘cause he hangs out with only girls, not that I don’t like homosexuals. He’s five years older than I am, twenty-three. I’m eighteen, so is Kira. Kyrie is twenty-two and Claire is nineteen.
Riku doesn’t live with us, actually. He hides himself, from what? I don’t know. Maybe he doesn’t like being around people... or maybe because he’s a famous inventor. Seriously, so many people bug him and even us sometimes because we know him. He’s the one that gave us the PS3, and speaking of which, the four of us are standing in front of it.
“Okay... Let’s just turn it on...” Kyrie muttered, grabbing the controller and sitting on the floor after me. She pressed the middle button and there was a beep, indicating the system was on. The other two sat on the couch behind us.
“So, Kyri. “ I started, crossing my arms. Yeah, I do that a lot. “What exactly did it tell you?”
“It said ‘With the sleeping three souls, you will be guided to another world. With only one, the prophesy cannot be fulfilled. The four with embark in journey of love, hate and pain. The Yontouryuu will bring promise.’ That that was it.” She said calmly as the words, ‘FINAL FANTASY IX’ came on the screen.
“Are you sure?” Kira said, not believing a word. “There’s no way it could say that, unless you were playing Devil May Cry or something.” She explained as Kyrie shook her head.
“It was the strangest thing.” The eldest woman said, “I saved my game and quit. I left the system on to charge my I-pod and I turned off the T.V.” She gazed at the system. “And it told me that. I was all, WTF and that’s why I told Mayu.”
“I think it’s strange.” Claire muttered softly, slightly frighten at the speaking of a talking system. I turned to her.
“I think you might be on to something there, Claire.”
“Huh?” They all turned to me in confusion as I smirked slightly.
“I mean to say, Yontouryuu inherits from Japanese, which means Four Swords.” I narrowed my eyes at the system. “Kira, Claire and myself were asleep.”
“Oh! We were the sleeping souls!” Claire exclaimed as I grinned at her.
“I was assuming that.” I turned to Kyrie. “Since you were here alone, it was saying that with only one of us is not enough for this ‘other world’.” I brought my thumb to my mouth and bit it slightly, just like ‘L’ for Death Note. “But... the prophesy and the embarking journey... I’m not to sure about.”
“...” There was a silence and I laughed slightly.
“Just because I elaborated what she said, doesn’t mean it will be true.” The three of them sighed. Kyrie selected her file and it started to load. As soon as it did, she went to the save menu and saved over the file.
Nothing happened.
“Well, I did quit the game.” She muttered, pressing the middle button on the controller and quit the game. She turned off the screen and we sat there.
Nothing.
“Liar!” Kira declared as Kyrie glared at her.
“Wait, Kira.” I held my hand up and turned to Kyrie. “Did you touch the system at anytime?”
“Yeah,” She nodded and placed her hand over the system’s name. “Here and it--“
‘With the other three souls, you will be guided to another world. With only one, the prophesy cannot be fulfilled. The four with embark in journey of love, hate and pain. The Yontouryuu will bring promise.’
“Uh... did everyone just hear that?” Kira asked aloud as we all nodded, looking shocked at the system.
“I told you guys!!” Kyrie said, taking her hand away from the system and they all glanced at me.
“What do we do, Mayu?” Claire asked me as I gazed at everyone’s faces.
“Well, I’m kind of scared as hell right now.” I laughed slightly. “And wanna run the fuck out of that front door and never look back.” They nodded, symbolizing they wanted to too. “But I guess, being curious we have to, right?” I grinned like a Chester cat.
“Mayu...” The second eldest girl cried slightly. I held my hand out to her. We all know she is the easily intimidated by things so she usually stays with me. “W-what if we get separated?”
“Look,” Kira huffed. “This can’t be real so who cares?”
“It is real!” Kyrie scowled the girl who glared at her.
“Guys!” I snapped, making them all turned to me scared. “Even if this isn’t real, we should take it seriously, just in case.” I explained to them as Claire took my hand. “If my theory is correct, we have to touch the system, all of us.”
“What if one touches it and we hold each other’s hands?” Claire asked me as I smiled and ruffled her hair with my other hand. We’re all the same height: 5’3.
“Just what I was thinking.” We held each other’s hand and they looked at me. I sighed and reach out my hand to touch the system...
‘The prophesy is now complete. The Eidolons of their souls with seal the evil in this world, called Gaia and make peace on it.’
“That’s not funny.”
