The Arrival
Hate.
That's all he could think of while his thoughts flowed through the Lifestream, his hate for Cloud. All he wanted was revenge for two defeats at the hands of his hated enemy.
Sephiroth had plenty of time to think while he stayed within the dark confines of the Lifestream.
"If only I could find a way out of here...anything would do.." a sudden push on his entity stopped his train of thought, and he appeared in his body, infront of a battle armour-clad woman, with an impressive weapon in her grip.
"You wish for a second chance?, then you shall have it...but you must redeem for your sin Sephiroth...I'm sending you to a new world for this chance. Do not take it lightly, for if you threaten this new world...you will stay here in the Lifestream..for eternity."
Sephiroth nods, "Understood..what exactly am I supposed to do?"
"You are to help a young summoner on this world, she requires your aid. I expect you give it to her. She will be all that stands between her world and destruction from a great and terrible entity."
The swordsman is blinded by a flash of light, and stumbles, blacking out.

A young woman sighed as she looked up at the star-filled sky of Spira, her hair a dark brown, her eyes a mixture of green and blue, the summoner Yuna, "Tonight is really beautiful...” she sighs again as she sees a shooting star, closing her eyes, and clasping her hands together, she makes a wish, and looks back up at the star, and yelps, seeing it fly right at her, and ducks.
The star shoots over her and slams into the hill behind the young summoner, she stands and approaches the crater carefully. Sephiroth stirs a bit, his vision blurry, he barely registers the young woman approaching him, his clothes singed, Masamune across the way embedded in the cliff wall. He lifts his head, and falls back, too dazed to move, and passes out, closing his eyes again.
Yuna looks over the contents of the crater, and gulps, seeing the injured man, and walks up to his sizzling body, casting a couple Cure spells to heal up a few open wounds. She looks over his body again to make sure no other injuries need healing, as she does a couple men from the village run up, one of them being Wakka and the other Kimahri. She looks up at them, a worried look on her face.
“Where did this one come from?” Wakka asked in his usual tone, “He..fell out of the sky.” she answered with a worried tone in her voice.
She looked back down at the silver-haired man’s body, and looks at Kimahri, “We have to get him back to the village.” the two men nod, and Kimahri pick up the man, she walks over to the embedded sword, putting her hadns on it and mumbles.
“This has to be his...it wasn’t here before.” and struggles to pull it out, and budges it a bit, then places her foot on the cliff wall, adding more force and dislodges it, and stumbles back, falling into the sand, with the Nodachi in her hands. Yuna looks back, and runs up to them, holding the sword, “Ok, we can go.” after a few hours of walking and killing fiends, they arrive at the village.
Lulu meets them at the gate, “You alright Yuna?” Yuna nods and smiles, “Just fine Lulu. The man, I can’t say the same.” she looks at the man being carried by Kimahri. Lulu nods, “Take him to my hut. He can rest there.” Kimahri and Yuna nods, walking to the blue tent.
Wakka stands next to the black mage with his arms folded, “He seems kinda strange Lu.” she loosk up at the blitzballer, “We have to trust Yuna’s judgement Wakka.” he sighs and shrugs, “I dunno.”
Yuna follows Kimahri in, and looks at the man as the blue Ronso sets him down on the bed, she nods to herself, and walks over, laying the sword against the wall, then sits down next to him, “Thank you Kimahri, I can take it from here.” the Ronso nods and walks out, taking one final look as Yuna begins to take off the singed shirt of the swordsman.
“Ok..some nasty scratches...” she waves her hands as they glow, healing the injuries.
Sephiroth stirs as he feels an odd sensation over his torso, groaning, the summoner flinches, but continues to heal his wounds. He prys his eyes open and looks around sluggishly, taking in his surroundings, but makes no attempts to move, feeling some pain. He makes eye contact with the summoner, his green eyes meeting her blue and green eyes. she smiles and continues to heal him, he doesn’t smile and closes his eyes, drifting off to sleep.
He wakes up late into the afternoon, the girl not in the tent, and sits up slowly. rubbing his side and looks down, seeing his body basically good as new, and swings his legs over the side of the bed, feeling his feet touch ground, he smiles, “Well...looks like I’m alive, or is this some kind of dream?”
Sephiroth looks around for a better look, and nods to himself, standing up, and stretches, a few bones cracking pleasantly, exhibting a sigh of relief from him, “Much better...” he looks around again and picks up Masamune, but sets back against the wall, deciding to peek his head out of the hut, and flinches as he walks out, the bright sun almost blinding him.
He brings his arm up to shield his eyes and gets a good look around, children running around playing, adults conversing, and the young woman from last night walking up to him, “You...you helped me?” the girl stops a couple feet away from him and nods, a smile on her face, and bows, “Yes, my name is Yuna by the way.” he nods, “Sephiroth.”
Yuna guessed it to be his name, “Nice to offcially meet you Sephiroth, are you feeling better?” he nods, “Feeling much better.” she nods and smiles again, “That is good to hear.”
Lulu walks up behind her, and places her hand on Yuna’s shoulder, making the younger woman jump, forcing Sephrioth to chuckle a bit. “I see your friend is feeling better Yuna.” she looks back at the black mage and nods. “Well, it seems he definetly looks well, as if he never slammed into that cliff back at the beach.”
Yuna giggles slightly, “Yeah. Definetly.” she has a small, unoticable blush on her face, due to the sun. Sephiroth folds his arms, “So...where am I anyway?” Lulu looks up at him, “Besaid Island, the world of Spira.” he sighs, “Great..a world I don’t know a thing about...” he shrugs to himself, and glances at his shoulder, following an arm to Yuna, an eyebrow raised.
“You ok Sephiroth?” he nods, “Yes why?” she takes her hand back and clears her throat, “Nothing...just wondering.” Sephiroth chuckles to himself, looks around, again seeing the people, but they seem to be observing him. He stares at them, his eyes narrowing a bit, but Yuna brings his sight back to her, “Say...you know what a guardian is?” Sephiroth nods a bit then shrugs.
“Never really was a guardian for anyone.” Lulu, who is standing next to her, looks at Yuna, gasping. Yuna ignores Lulu, “Well..I’m going to go on a journey and I’d like you to be my guardian.”
Sephiroth shrugs, “I suppose so. I will be your guardian.” Yuna smiles widely at his answer and nods. Lulu pinches the bridge of her nose and walks off, to tell Wakka what just happened. “So...when does this journey begin?” Yuna looks up at him, a slight blush from seeing his face, “We..start as soon as I become a full-fledged summoner.” Sephiroth raises his eyebrow curiously, but decides not to ask what a summoner is, making a pretty good guess as to what they are.
Sephiroth walks back in the tent, grabbing Masamune, and walks back out, as he exits, Yuna pulls him off to find Kimahri. They walk up the hill, and they start off slow, Sephiroth’s brow twitches a bit, and picks up Yuna, impatient and walks at his normal pace. “So...this journey..does it go through any..you know..freezing or cold regions?”
“Only one, Mt. Gagazet. Why do you ask?”
Sephiroth ignores her question and switches the subject in point to finding this Kimahri person. Yuna frowns a bit, trying to get him to answer, he remains silent, and begins to poke him, playing a new game she thought of, ‘Poke Sephiroth’
“Poke”
“No”
“Poke”
“No”
“Pooooooke”
“Noooo”
“POKE!”
Sephiroth jumps back and sets Yuna down, pulling out Masamune, taking his usual stance. A giant two-legged lion stood infront of them, snarling. “Well..this should be easy.” Sephiroth mumbled to himself.
The creature lunged at him, and brought his spear in a stabbing motion, which Sephiroth easily side-stepped. *I think I’ll toy with him a bit.* he grins and lands behind the beast, blocking and swinging like an amatuer. Yuna screams and the two cease to fight, making Sephritoh land softly next to her and sheaths Masamune, apologizing to the young girl.
Yuna glances at Kimahri, who puts his spear away, and nods at Sephiroth. He returns the nod and proceeds to walk back to the village. “I’m sorry...he’s just-”
“It’s fine Yuna, to be honest..I wasn’t really trying.” Yuna tilts her head confused, “Not really trying?” Sephiroth shakes his head, “No, I can move a lot quicker, I just wanted to have a little fun, is all.”
The rest of the walk was quiet and peaceful, aside fom the occasional fight with monsters, Yuna dubbed them something Sephiroth found somewhat odd, ‘Fiends.’
They arrive at the gate and he sets Yuna down, the sun beginning to set. Wakka walks up, “Oy, Yuna! What’s goin on here?!”
Yuna has her arm around Sephiroth’s shoulder looking at Wakka, “What’s wrong?” she asked innocently.
“What’s wrong...that’s a good joke Yuna. You goin and makin a new guardian without tellin me!” He shook his head annoyed, glancing at the silver-haired combat expert. “We could be in trouble, and I don’t trust dis guy, ya?”
“Wakka-”
Sephiroth speaks up, “It’s not your decision on who she brings along for the journey. It’s Yuna and her life, not yours. She can do with it as she pleases.” he walks past Wakka and stops a foot behind him, “People like you...act like the puppetmaster...and poeple like Yuna is the marionette..you seek to control...how disgusting.” Sephiroth smirks, *Isn’t that calling the kettle black...* keeps walking, his blade still in hand.
“Wakka...I..”
“It aint no problem Yuna. ‘Sides...he’s right, your life, your decision.”
