angels and airwaves
Zell crossed his arms in front of him and absorbed the full impact of the monsters attack. He felt his heels digging into the ground but kept his balance. Again and again that fearsome club fell upon Zell’s body. Fearing for his life Zell charged full life and dealt a devastating uppercut to the arm. The monster hissed and tried to strike Zell again. But instead the monsters arm went limp, and fell to the ground. Zell seized this opportunity and with full life in his fists and feet pummeled the arm. Every part he hit began to glow white and started coming apart. The monster roared and drew back what was left of its arm. It fixed its fiery eyes on him and snarled. Then gave a huff of indifference and pulled his ragged arm into itself. Black blood flowing as the claws entered its body. Its one arm became two; though much shorter. It raised them into the air and suddenly a black and red cloud swirled overhead.
“awwwwww shiiiiiiiiiit!” Zell turned and ran as fire and lightning fell all around him. He found himself trapped in a wall of fire keeping everybody out and keeping him in. Staring down this beast he grit his teeth and prepared for the inevitable. All at once his body was not his own. Ifrits vicious spirit had taken control. Snarling, he sprinted towards the beast. Cocking back his arm he threw a vicious right that took a chunk out of the monsters side. It roared in pain and sent lightning bolts down on him. He used his acrobatic skills to avoid them and with a well timed kick actually managed to deflect one back at the beast. The impact was such that it blew a wing off and sent Zell sprawling across the floor. He coughed up blood and grabbed his stomach, his vision blurred and his mind fell in a deep haze. He looked at the one winged beast. The clouds overhead had disappeared and it too was laid out on the floor, writhing and grumbling in pain. The floor was positively slick with that black blood. Its smell was overpowering and made Zell dizzy.
“Fucker….” He tried to stand up but he slipped and fell. “This stuff is like…oil!” With the last of his strength he grabbed his wrist and with one push the fire demon Ifrit burst into existence. Snarling and roaring with the fury of a million suns. Zell weakly pointed at the one winged monster on the floor. And that’s the last thing he remembered before he passed out.
Seeing his master unconscious, Ifrit’s demonic rage soared. Bringing a stone of pure hell fire up under himself he crossed his arms and started to rise. But he could not rise up more than a couple feet. And before he knew it his stone had vanished. Looking around he heard a weak sound emanating from Zell.
“Ifrit…..Ifrit….don’t.” a voice not his own escaped Zell’s body. Ifrit looked at Zell’s limp body as it glowed white and floated up till he stood on his own feet. He walked over to Ifrit that glowing white aura surrounding him still. His eyes were a solid white. Clearly another GF had possessed him. Zell touched Ifrit’s massive legs and looked up at him with a stern gaze Ifrit knew all to well.
“Alexander? “ Snarled Ifrit, “what is it?”
Again Zell spoke with a borrowed voice,
“Leave Gerogero to me, your hell fire would kill Zell and only spread this….filth even further in this place.”
Ifrit thought for a moment and with a fiery huff of disappointment he knelt on one knee and grumbled his understanding. Autonomously Zell made his summoning motion again and Ifrit disappeared. In his place the towering figure of Alexander loomed in the rafters of the garden, His massive mechanical body hissing and whirring as he calibrated his judgment cannons at Gerogero’s body. It was point blank no escape. The actions on Alexander’s cannons whirred and wound back until finally locking back with a vicious clunk.
“Guilty. Gerogero”, Alexander’s epic voice boomed. And with that a giant whoosh emanated from those merciless barrels of unyielding justice. The garden rocked violently to one side with the force of Alexander’s might. And where Gerogero once lay a broken bridge took his place. Zell’s listless body lay unconscious on the garden side of the bridge.
He lay there fading in and out of consciousness. He could see the random battles going on around him. See his brothers and sisters dying around him. He tried to move but his body was not responding. All of a sudden he was pushed over onto his stomach by a boot. He looked toward the entrance to the training center and saw a man in a trench coat walk across the nonexistent bridge. Zell thought he was hallucinating, he tried to yell out to him but his throat was too dry, his muscles too weak. The man got to the boulders and waved them aside they landed in the pool the bridge stood over. He then floated up and walked into the training center disappearing into the dark hallway.
Certain he was going crazy he rolled over painfully onto his back staring up at the garden ceiling. The bright lights hurting his eyes. He turned his head towards the garden and saw a brown blur rushing towards him very quickly. He watched it run at him then jump clear over him into the pool. And using the stones in the pool it jumped in the training center after the man.
