Chapter Eleven
There was one more briefing before they left, and this one was to be attended by Sephiroth. Then, they would all leave Earth. Groaning, he rolled onto his side, anticipating the time before looking at the clock. Four hours was nearly up again, despite himself he had become rather used to his four hour schedule. In fact most of the time he didn’t even need to look at a clock to know when the hour was almost up. A knock alerted him of someone moments before Janet walked in.
"I'm sorry Daniel. I would have liked to keep Sephiroth here but he is infected so he has to go. I don’t know why you’re so opposed to the idea," she started, trying to smooth it over.
"You don’t get it. Sephiroth runs on a four hour schedule... with roughly two or three hours in between. There is only one room on this planet. What do you expect me to do? He hardly cares if anyone is around." Daniel fell silent, his hatred of misdirected anger overriding his need to vent. Janet stared at him, how on Earth had Daniel managed to keep this up..? That left the poor archaeologist barely five hours to sleep, and do all of his other work as well.
"There's only one room?" she asked instead, seeing the reason for Daniel's mortification earlier. "I understand now... and again I'm sorry, but he would still have to go with you. After all, you did infect him," she finished pointedly.
Daniel recalled Janet's word earlier, the virus was not usually contagious... and Seph was infected. Now he knew what she meant, and he mentally slapped himself for not understanding her earlier. No longer in the mood for conversation, but rather in the mood for... other things, he walked to the door and opened it. Janet looked at him, confused, before he explained.
"It's been almost four hours. I have to go. If we're both supposed to be in another briefing in an hour and a half I should have gone earlier."
"But couldn't... you... just, well... make it fast?" she asked, a little embarrassed to be even going into this conversation. Especially when Daniel’s face turned crimson in turn and he looked away.
"Not when it's him, no..." he whispered, his face burning as he closed the door behind him and walked down the corridor. Pausing outside the door he wondered for the first time since this all started happening, just why he had gone into the room that day.
"Maaaaaaaaako.... I know your there. Stop hiding from me," came a voice from the other side of the door. Stepping into the room, he was greeted the same way he always was. Pale arms wrapped around him, pulling him into a lust filled kiss that wiped all thoughts from his mind. He was then slowly tugged towards the bed, Sephiroth expertly shedding Daniels clothes before they even got there.
Two hours later, as Daniel retied each boot and Sephiroth sat clothed in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt... despite arguments that he didn't mind simply walking around in the simple large shirt he had worn since he got there, there was a sturdy knock at the door. Seconds later it began to open. Daniel prayed that the look on his face was one of interest rather than shocked guilt, prayed that the rumpled sheets on the bed would be taken as restless nights, and that the heavy smell of sex on the air was... was... okay ignored completely. He felt a moment of relief when Teal’c walked through the door, until he saw the calculating way the Jaffa took in the room.
