Joined Worlds

Chapter 13
On the way over, they discover Cid was on board. This was a surprise when they found him asleep in a corner. He claimed he knew they go without him and promised not to get into any fights. Soon they reach to the prison. Everyone, but Cid, dbarkbarks the ship. They can see that the troops were through out the prison. Split up into their two groups and enter. Tifa leading one group that would deal with the guards, Squall leading the other into the base. On Tifa’s team was Barret and Quistis. Squall had Yuffie and Vincent. This sneaking in was easier said than done. Squall’s team find some uniforms after a search. This enables them to walk down the levels of the prison. Squall could tell the prison has been remodeled near the lower levels. Near the bottom, Squall’s group ran into Zell. Before Squall could say anything, Zell makes his move. He wasn’t fooled by their outfits. Tifa’s group catches up about this time and joins them. They were surrounded by some strange gray mists. Squall then saw Zell again, then another Zell, and another Zell. They realizes there were seven Zells in the room.
Each Zell, “Who is the real one? Come and find out.”
Each Zell weaved in and out of the mists, each time one came nearby, they would attack. The real Zell would come in and hit someone.
Squall, “We can’t keep doing this! He’ll wear us down and finish us off.”
They didn’t see someone sneak into the room. He snuck over to place he could get a good shot and took aim. He waited till he knew which one was real and pulled the trigger. This was happening when Squall was trying to figure out how to tell the real Zell from the fakes. They all hear the gun go off and see one Zell grab his arm. The mists lifted and the others vanished. This is when his guardian force appeared. A huge gray-silver dragon. Their fight with Helodan itself began. This was harder than the time they fought Cid’s guardian force, Racverno. This one used deception and illusions. Meanwhile the sniper hurried down to Zell. The lights reveal it was Cid.
Cid, “Hi, Zell. Remember me?”
Zell wasn’t hit by the bullet. It hit the jewel on his arm band and ricochet off. The jewel was cracked in several places.
Zell, “You’re back? Why are you helping them?”
Cid, “This damn arm band has messed with your mind. You need to break the jewel.”
Zell, “Just it cracking hurt like a bitch!”
Cid smacks Zell in the head, “Don’t be a chicken wuss! You want to wear pretty jewelry and let some damn lizard tell you what to do? Be my guest!”
This triggered Zell’s temper.
Zell, “I am not a Chicken Wuss!”
He proves it by hinghing his arm band into the wall. It takes fives smacks since it was already damaged when he began. As it shatters, the dragon collapses onto the floor before vanishing. Zell also collapses. Cid is already checking Zell over.
Tifa, “Cid! You were suppose to stay at the ship!”
Cid, “If I didn’t shoot that damn jewel, you would still be getting your collected ass kicked.”
Squall, “.... Is Zell okay?”
Cid, “He’ll be better than I was.”
Yuffie walks over to him, “He looks kinda cute when he is out cold.”
Cid, “You better go into the next room and fight the others. Cloud and Rinoa are waiting for you. Don’t worry, I’ll put Zell aside somewhere safe.”
As they go to the next room, Cid starts hiding Zell.
They entered the next room. They could see Cloud and Rinoa in the room. Rinoa has a arm band on now, hers has a purple jewel on it. Cloud was using Seifer’s gunblade.
Cloud, “Welcome. . . . “
Rinoa stays silent.
Squall, “Rinoa!” Turns to Cloud, “What have you done to her?!”
Cloud, “She is fine, just doesn’t choose to speak.”
Tifa, “My team will handle Cloud. Go after her and remember she isn’t going to hold back.”
Squall, “I know Rinoa. “
They spilt up and go after their targets. Tifa tries to talk reason to Cloud.
Tifa, “Come on, remember me? All the times we fought together?”
Cloud pauses, “Yeah, I remember you. . . You are the lying b*tch who told me we would always be together. Then you dump me for Johnny! Oh, like I want to remember that! What happened? He go limp? You want to trick me so you two can mock me like old times?”
Tifa, “That isn’t why! I needed time...... “
Barret, “Ya broke up with him?”
Tifa, “Oops. . . I was hoping that he wouldn’t remember that part. “
Cloud starts fighting again. Squall tried to reason with Rinoa also.
Squall, “Please, you don’t have to fight me.”
Rinoa, “I must protect our leader. It is my purpose.”
Squall, “We aren’t here to kill anyone. Please let me help you. . . “
Cloud moves next Rinoa, “They are here to stop us.”
Rinoa, who is more hesitant, “But are we right? No one should be forced to follow another..... I sense they don’t mean anyone real harm. “
Cloud, “It must his decision what road he takes.”
Squall, “You talk about roles. What do you mean?”
Cid enters the room. loudloud, “Welcome, Racverno... It is time you met him.” Then to the others. “Keith found these arm bands, thinking he could have me make him into the world leader. He didn’t understand my purpose. I was created to find the wearer for the last arm band. Racverno goes after the enemies. Helodan is to be a barrier. Fenrir is the guardian. I found Keith inadequate for the job leadership. I had to get rid of him and his allies. My job is almost over. So as you can see, I will fight you to the end till he passes judgment.”
Rinoa, “Must we really?”
Cloud kisses her hand, “Go to him, guardian. Only Racverno may pass.”
She hurries into the next room. Cid follows her. Cloud turns to them. His guardian force appears next to him. He quickly mounts it and charges them. They find themselves fighting both Cloud and his GF.
