Chapter 13
Later on, Alison shooed everyone out of the Infirmary - everyone but Seifer that is because her refused to leave her. Alison merely smiled and nodded and left them alone. Seifer asked to move over then he sat down beside her wrapping his arm around her and gently stroked her hair as he talked to her and listened to her talking as she filled him in on the events that had occurred since he had left them all behind.
He knew it all of course, but he was happy enough to listen to her talk and hold her. He'd missed her so desperately when he'd left. Most people in heaven were able to move on but Seifer had discovered the window which let him watch the events that unfolded in his absence. It had broken his heart to watch her. When they'd offered him the chance to go to her in her dreams, he couldn't possibly have refused. He was even happier when they told him that, if she invited him, he could come back to her. He couldn't stay long though. They'd told him that it would only be a short while but, he'd take whatever he could get!
Quistis eventually fell to sleep in his arms, more relaxed than he'd seen her since he'd died. Grateful that his presence made her happy again. He followed her shortly.
The next morning, Quistis awoke feeling better than she had since the death of Seifer. She stretched a little and remembered where she was but even that didn't disturb her mood because she caught sight of one still-sleeping Seifer Almasy. She couldn't resist the urge to gently let her hand run through his hair and then over his cheek.
She smiled as his eyelids fluttered and he came slowly back to consciousness. He opened his eyelids fully and smiled a slow, sweet smile at her, "Hey!" She smiled back at him, "Hi!" She leaned down to him and placed a kiss on his lips then she lay back down on her side and cuddled into him. "I missed you so much, Seifer."
Seifer looked down at her then kissed the top of her head. "I missed you too, honey. I'm glad to be back here with you again."
They stayed like that for the rest of the morning, whiling away a good few hours talking about this and that...eventually talking about the future and the visions that he would probably soon start receiving. Neither were particularly worried about it at this stage. It was more a curiosity and they discussed how to tell their friends about what was going to happen. It didn't seem like there was an easy way around it.
