“Amazing! I never would have expected!” Garnet cried. No old-aged sorcerer, but a young maid had won the Magic Division by the name of Rosa Bethnea. At first glance, Rosa looked the ordinary thirteen year old girl, but deep inside she held a powerful magic that claimed her first prize; a coveted winners trophy and a well earned 100,000 gil.
“Bravo! That was a magnificent display of power.” Queen Garnet mounted the arena to present the prize.
“Thank you so much.” Rosa bowed out of due respect before her Queen, “I am so happy to win... Mama and Papa will be proud…”
“Rise up, my dear,” Garnet spoke gently but loudly enough for all to hear her, “They should be quite proud, for someone so young with such power is truly astonishing and quite admirable. I wish you the best of luck for your future!” Garnet nodded kindly.
“Thank you again, and Happy Birthday, your Highness!” Rosa bowed again and departed the stage with the crowd cheering resonantly.
“Thank you, Queen Garnet! And now! For our second tournament, we shall have the Weapons Division! Will this years contestants please come forward!” Blank yelled. Clapping commenced as each contender took to the arena.
On the rooftops, Freya leaned forward, “Look! There’s Amarant! It appears that he is competing as well,” she said.
“Yes, it is quite possible that he will win, too. He has an ego twice that of Zidane’s when it comes to fighting…” Fratley commented dryly.
“And why, my dear Fratley, are you not competing, hmm?” Freya spoke almost teasingly.
“Oh really, my dear Freya… I wouldn’t want to humiliate anyone.” Fratley tried to hide a smile.
Freya sat back, her smile as fake as Fratley’s vaunt, “Of course not…”

As it turned out, to the delight of all who knew him, Amarant did indeed win the Weapons Division of the fighting tournament.
“Thanks, Garnet…” Amarant said with a wry smile as he received the trophy and gil, “I feel that this reward was well earned.”
Garnet chuckled, “Of course, Amarant. You were truly amazing!” and with that, she leaned up and gave Amarant a winning kiss on the cheek. The crowd cheered and Zidane, who was watching from afar cringed menacingly as Amarant blushed profusely and rubbed the back of his head with embarrassment.
“Aww Geeze, Garnet… why’d you have to do that…” he departed the stage hastily.
Upon the rooftops, Freya almost fell off laughing and Fratley had to hold her back in her seat, “That oaf! Getting all embarrassed by a little kiss! Ahahah!!” Freya laughed boisterously, which was very unlike her.
“My... my dear!” Fratley strained to pull Freya back from the edge of the roof.
“But then again…” she calmed down slightly, “its probably the first time in years…”
Fratley sighed, “You’re probably right... but Freya, let’s calm down and watch the last fight.”
