Chapter 2

Zackery walks for three nights before reaching Rocket City. Rocket City was once a small town called Rocket Town. After the Meteor, it expanded towards thre ocean and grew into a good size city. This city has seaports and an airport.

The airport was Captain Cid Highwind’s final legacy to the town. Before his death, Cid started to build an Airpor and he left a trust fund that helped pay for the rest of the building. Now it is one of the best airports around.

However, Zackery is here to cross on one of the boats that travel to the island of Wutia. He enters the large city from the west side. This part has the expensive shops and restaurants. To the north is the airport and Cid’s home. Xavier, Cid’s oldest grandson, still lives there. Madnol sometimes lives there. The east has both the seaport and the cheaper shops.

Zackery travels eastward to the ports. Pauses to inspect the shops along the docks. There he sees Madnol, Cid’s youngest grandson. Madnol is 23 and a bit like his grandfather on temper. He has blond hair and dark blue eyes. His clothes were rather colorful. Pirate like jacket of dark blue with golden trim, rich purple silk shirt, bright red sash that was tied around his waist, and baggy black pants. His jacket held inner pockets that could hold a number of things.

Madnol is being escorted towards one of the boats. Zackery follows this to see what was up. He then realizes they were taking him aboard the same ship he needed to go on. Zackery sneaks aboard behind them.

Madnol is thrown into a room and locked in. Zackery is unable to leave his hiding place for some time and waits till the ship ut aut at sea. Then he is able to sneak into the room. He finds Madnol sleeping on his cot . Zackery covers his mouth and wakes him. hand to keep his friend from making too much noise. Only lets go whenMadnol sees who it is.

Zackery, “Why are you on this ship?”

Madnol, “I don’t know. That damn old Bitch probably. She asked me to go to Wutia and I refused.”

Zackery, “You still call Yuffie a bitch?”

Madnol, “She is a bitch. She is insisting I go to see her. . . Why are you here?”

Zackery, “I snuck aboard. I am also suppose to meet Yuffie.”

Madnol, “Well, you better hide in here. I can at least share my food with ya.”

That is how Zackery arrived to Wutia.

Once there, Madnol is escorted to the Village. Zackery sneaks off the ship and shadows them for a bit. Madnol is brought to a building in the center of town. Zackery eventually wanders in the same building. Inside Yuffie is in a comfy chair next to a table with two chairs across from her. Madnol is already in one of them. Yuffie indicts he should take the second chair. He politelty sits down.

Yuffie, “Good boy! Your better mannered than Cid’s grandbrat.”

Madnol, “Forcing someone to meet you is well mannered?”

Zackery, “I know you want me to do something, but why drag Madnol into this?”

Yuffie, “To the point. I know you both have been told some of the story, but not all of it.”

Madnol, “All of it?”

Yuffie, “Let me tell you the whole truth. Then you can decide if you want to join the cause. I know Zackery will do this, but I want you help him.”

Yuffie drinks some water before beginning.

Yuffie, “It started when Cloud began to show symptoms of his body changing. Hojo, a long dead scientist, injected him with Jenova cells and put him through a treatment similar to making Mako Soldiers. After so many years, it seemed the cells were turning lethal. Changing him in uncertain ways. He was found by Vincent. We told his wife he was dead on site, but that was a lie. Cloud was still alive when Vincent found him that cold day by the cave. Cloud was covered with other people’s blood. Nearby were the bodies of men. He was on the ground, withering in pain. He begged Vincent to kill him for the sake of our world. Vincent couldn’t bring himself to do it. Cloud went into painful seizures and died in his arms. That is when Cid and Vincent buried his body in a hidden grave. The tale they told was much kinder. Vincent believed someone might try to use his Jenova cells to bring about creatures and clones. So Cloud’s body was put into a special coffin and only three people knew where it was put. Later, Cid Highwind was killed by some unknown creature. Someone was trying to get the secret location from him. We believe he died before telling his secret. Vincent also disappeared around the time of Cid’s death. I am the only one left who knows the location. But I am too old and I can’t go investigating this stuff anymore. I want both of you to secure the coffin and relocate it. I don’t care where, just make sure his body is still in the coffin and rebury it in a new place. Make sure no one else knows!”

Madnol, “So, you want me to do what my grandfather once did? Fine, old one, but I think this is crazy.”

Zackery is in a bit of shock. He didn’t know the story was that twisted.

Zackery, “Does this tie into Barret’s death?”

Yuffie, “His death was unrelated. He protested the Tylunar control too much and got himself killed, the big idiot.”

Madnol, “Who were the men who were killed?”

Yuffie, “Men from that damn Tylunar company .”

Zackery, “Where do we go look?”
