Disclaimer:
I do not own Final Fantasy VII, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Chapter Two- Welcome to Dreamland
Disclaimer- I wrote it in the first chapter…I don’t own anything EXCEPT Menkaure, she is my own character.
A/N- For those of you who are wondering whether there was a roof in the church/chapel that belonged to Cloud, there is…I just started before he found it. So now that’s cleared up, I can finally write. And just for the record, there are chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, if you’ve ever played the game or seen the movie (in which I have) or if you’ve never done both, well lets just say it started from there. Enjoy ; )
Life is a river, it is ever flowing,
Life is a journey, not a destination
Life should not be taken for granted
Life Goes On…
Chapter Two- Welcome to Dreamland
She was out of breath, she couldn’t keep up. They were bound to catch her soon. But she knew she had to keep on going, or they would ask her questions she was not allowed to answer. If that came to that, they would torture her until she did. And she wasn’t ready for that, she had seen too much, she would give them away. If she made it out alive, then the Elders would surely kill her. She had to keep going.
Coming to a stop at the edge of a forest, the rumbling of motorcycles behind her, she looked back and saw that they weren’t far behind. She made her decision and ran in, hoping for the best that she wasn’t seen. The trees were so thick, she could’ve just hid behind a trunk and they still wouldn’t be able to find her. Unless if they went in themselves. Not far from where she stood, she heard voices. They were at the edge, just over the engine from the motorcycles could she hear Kadaj and Kazoo talking, while Loz was just visible from a gap between the low branches.
“Do you think she ran in here?”
“Yes, but it seems that she could be at the other side now, or at least hiding in the forest. But we haven’t got anytime to search for her now. We have to go back to plains. We have an unexpected guest waiting there for us.”
“Can’t we just shoot spontaneously and see if we hit something?”
“Loz, if we had the time, but we are on a important mission right now…”
“What could be more important than finding Mother?”
“It seems that we are after the wrong person, the on at the plains right now has all the answers. And besides it’s our brother.”
“…Cloud?!?”
“Yes. But we have to hurry before he leaves for the city.”
And with that all three of them left, the rumbling of their engines dying away as they made for the plains. Whoever this Cloud was had better be careful, whether powerful or not, he wouldn’t last long against those three. And who was this Mother? Was she their children? It wouldn’t be the first time she heard this, nor would it be her last. Everywhere she went, people seemed to yearn for their mothers. Not long ago was she in a city where there were children everywhere; she had wondered where all their parents were, but was afraid to ask. After all she was a stranger amongst them. It would be better if she did not ask questions.
Making sure that the cost was clear, she began her journey through the forest. As she walked further in, the trees were getting thicker and thicker every time. The branches were longer and wider, that they formed a roof over her head, blocking out the sun that made feeble attempts to get in. Finally making her way to the other side with more cuts and scrapes than a man coming home from a vicious battle, she came across a small village.
As she walked tentatively, she made sure that no one saw her, and hoping that she saw no one. She wouldn’t want another attack, when she barely survived her first encounter.
The village was small in size and in population; she only saw a few people outside, but most of them were children. They looked somewhat familiar. As she walked past them, they acknowledged her presence, but didn’t alert anyone. People just came out on their own free will to look at the stranger that came into their land. She prayed they wouldn’t harm her.
The path she was taking led to many directions. As she walked along one, a little girl came and blocked her way. She looked down at the little girl, as the little girl looked up at her.
“Why do I recognize her face?”
The little girl’s eyes were beginning to scare her. It was as though if she had known this girl from somewhere, but she just couldn’t figure out where she had seen her.
All of this overwhelmed her as her vision became blurry and her legs gave away. Next thing she knew, she was lying on the ground. Her body didn’t know what else to do, but she could tell that people were closing in on her as they gazed at the unconscious form of a stranger.
“Get out of the way…”
“…Please move, thank you.”
“Get the fuck out of my way!”
She could hear voices, but tried her best not to. A searing pain was emitting from the back of her head and was spreading to her neck and shoulders, all the way down to her spine.
“She’s not breathing…”
“Shit.”
“What do we do? We can’t leave her here…”
“Take her to Solaris, he’ll know what to do…”
“Solaris isn’t here, he had to go into the City.”
“…Then maybe we should take her to the Elders…
Did he just say Elders?
“Then it’s settled. Help me with the body.”
“But she’s not breathing…”
“Then give her something that will make her breath, idiot.’
“Who are these people?”
As two of the people put her on some sort of stretcher, the other poured something into her mouth; it was a very odd sensation that was spreading through her inner body. She couldn’t quite figure it out, but it felt like plunging into cold water, but it wasn’t cold nor was it hot. It was more of an invisible feeling afterwards, as the three individuals carried her somewhere obviously she didn’t know.
“Don’t worry, everything is going to be alright. You’re going to live…”
She wanted to sat thank you, but her mouth was dry and she was too weak to even form words.
As the sensation kept spreading through her body, she felt herself being lulled into a dream…
-Dream/Flashback-
“Kadaj, what are you doing?”
“I have to find Mother, I am the only one who can wake her…”
“…But Kadaj, what…what about h-him?”
“He can’t do anything. Cloud took care of him for us.”
“He’s not dead Kadaj, and you know it.”
“So what if he’s not dead? Doesn’t mean I can’t wake her.”
“You don’t know what you’re getting yourself into…you could get killed.”
“…Not unless if I find Mother first, then I’ll become one of her. Don’t you see, when we find Mother, we’ll be able to go home. Don’t you want that? To go home?”
“Yes…but Kadaj…Sephiroth can kill you, you’re a part of him…”
“He will not kill me…anyways, even if he did, how could we do the Reunion?”
“Who is Mother?”
-End Dream/Flashback-
The faint whispered echoed through her mind as she felt herself regain consciousness.
“Ahh, you are finally awake…”
There was a flash of white, blinding light, and she knew no more.
A/N- Another chapter has been completed. YAY! I am very sorry for the way things are going, it’s just that I’ve been writing for a long time and my brain is getting very tired. I promise things will pick up in the next chapter.
