“ Yuna” Thoughts

Tidus walked into the dark, shadows of the temple ran over his uniform, of the auroches (They wear the Zanarkand Abes uniforms).

“ So have you decided your path young Tidus.” A priest with Yevon approached him, they both did the prayer, Tidus had an expression of worry on his face.

“ I don’t know weather to become a summoner, or just a guardian. What do you think Zhen?” Zhen rubbed his chin thought fully, and started to walk towards the statue of High Summoner Braska, Tidus following.

“ You know ever since we found you all those years ago, we have all thought you as our own even thought, none of us are your parents.” Zhen looked at Tidus smiling.

“ Did you know them or anything about them” Tidus said, but at this Zhen shook his head but said.

“ I think they would have been very proud of you, Tidus.” Then Zhen handed Tidus a locket, on a silver chain. It had a small sign of Yevon on it, filled in with liquid sapphire. Tidus poke at it far a moment

“ What’s this Father Zhen?”

“ We found it when we found you, sorry for not telling you or giving it to you. We feared, being the only reminder of you parents you would lose it, before becoming responsible enough to keep it.” Zhen looked a bit sad at this, but Tidus put his hand on his shoulder, and smiled, and tied it around his neck, when Zhen gave it to him.

“ I understand, and I am not angry at your decision, well knowing me I might have eaten it.” They laughed at this. They turned their heads as the temple door open and Yuna walked in.

“ Hi Tidus, good morning. How are you feeling.” Yuna said as she approached Kamari behind her. Then she noticed Father Zhen, and did the prayer.

“ And how are you doing Father?” Zhen smiled at her comment, and did the prayer also.

“ Just fine Yuna, have you heard, that Tidus makes his decsion today, all we have to do is wait.” Tidus tapped his shoulder at that point.

“ I have made my decision anyway, I was thinking of being both a summoner and a guardian. Is that ok?” At this both Yuna and Zhen looked at him in slight shock.

“ Is that even possible, father Zhen?” Yuna said. Zhen rubbed his chin in thought and called another priest over.

“ Father Reno, have you heard of such a thing as a summoner, being a guardian as well.” Reno crossed his hands over his chest and tilted his head in thought.

“ Well the only, person who ever did that was High Summoner Sephiroth, who guarded his mother High Summoner Jenova, who defeated sin, then he followed in his mother’s footsteps, when sin reappeared, and thus sin’s appearance was with held a period of, I think was over 45 years.” Yuna’s eyes nearly popped out of her head, at that.

“ I heard that they were great, and gave us such a long calm, but didn’t think it lasted that long.” Kimari look a bit shocked, but his facial expression, didn’t change much, for he guarded his emotions.
Tidus looked on expectedly, and then the group approached him.

“ Well it has been done, and it isn’t against the teachings, and another High Summoner has done it, so I think it’ll be ok, Tidus.” Reno said. Tidus nodded.

“ Who would you like to be your guardians Tidus?” asked Yuna, a slight smile on her lips, Tidus turned and rubbed his chin.

“ I’d like to have Vincent Valentine, and Squall Loneheart.” The group stared at him in surprise. Reno and Zhen were a bit shocked.

“ You do know that Vincent uses a gun, right Tidus? An Al Bed weapon maybe?” Tidus nodded.

“ Yes of course I do, it uses energy instead of bullets, and it’s approved my the grand measter himself, and it isn’t of Al Bed design correct?” Zhen nodded, but his face was a little shaken.

“ Do you know that any one who has crossed bad side has never stayed alive, but for those who he sees as right, like loved ones, he protects with all he has. It’s only a rumour though.” Tidus tilted his head to one side, considering his choice. Also knowing that his guardians would be critical.

“ I’ve heard that rumour, also.” Yuna spoke up; Kimari nodded at this also. Reno coughed drawing the attention, off all else.

“ So, now onto the walking ice-berg Mr. Squall Loneheart. He’s the best swordsman in the world, since the late Sir Auron, who fought against Sin with High Summoner Braska ten years ago.” He looked at Yuna, with a sad smile. “ Sorry Lady Yuna, should I stop.” Yuna just smiled and told him to continue.
“ He protects those he sees as worthy, and so far he hasn’t found love. Hey you never know Tidus, might be the one to melt his cold heart, and Vincent’s ya?” He said in a cheery and helpful voice, at which Tidus blushed deep red, and Yuna scowled at him, saying with much anger and worry.

“ Reno, don’t do that! We all know Yevon allows homosexuals, but pissing off the ‘ice- burg’ that could cut you into pieces, is a bad idea.” Yuna nearly shouted in anger. Everyone stared at Yuna in astonishment, and at this, for ever few things, got the high summoner’s daughter uptight, and being offensive to strangers and gays was one of them, but she never told anyone that.
“ Sorry but he shouldn’t make fun of a person he doesn’t even know, right?” Yuna said in a timid voice now.

Zhen shook his head, as he held his head down a bit, but held it up and spoke to them all.

“ Well it seems that Tidus’ choice have been, made, he’ll be both guardian and summoner, therefore he’ll also have his own guardians, as well as his own aeons.” He turned to Yuna.
“Have you made your choice of guardians yet Lady Yuna?” She nodded

“ I’ll have Lulu, Wakka, and Kimari as my guardians, and before you ask, they have all consented.” Zhen just shut his mouth at this, and started to walk to the centre of the temple, and up the stairs, toward the Cloister of Trials, stopping in front of the door, not facing the group.

“ Reno, can you send for Vincent Valentine and Squall Loneheart, they should currently be in Bevelle.” He said, without turning round, at this Reno nodded.

“ Ok course (Speaking to the rest) excuse me. “ And he descended the stairs, turned right and entered the room located there. Then the voice of Zhen spoke up.

“ The Trials lie ahead. Are you prepare?” The group nodded, and entered, but as Tidus tried to pass, Zhen stopped him.

“ Since you have chosen a special path, in becoming both a guardian and a summoner, you will have to wait until your guardians arrive to be able to enter. Do you understand.” Tidus nodded, and made his way down the stairs with Zhen following him.

“Why on earth would Tidus pick the two most powerful, and cold people in all of Spira, as his guardians? He doesn’t even know them. Maybe his parents did? Oh who knows, well all I hope is that this doesn’t end badly.” Zhen thought.

“ You go get some rest, Tidus I’ll go and see how Reno did.” And with that they went there separate ways.
