A Fallen Heaven

Ow...

I think I landed on something sharp or got clunked on the head by a blunt object. I opened my eyes, despite the pain, only to be blinded by sheer sunlight. I covered my eyes with my hand and sat up. I don’t remember going outside...? I looked to my right to see Kira, Kyrie and Claire lying on the floor unconscious. They had no wounds but they were wearing something different from before.

They all wore a mini brown skirt with black short tights under. A green belt wrapped around there waist. Their tops stopped right under their breasts and I think iron held them up like a bra. They had a hood attached to the shirt and a green leather belt supported the iron. Black finger less gloves covered their hands and black boot with metal on the top covered their feet.

Now that I mention it... I have the same thing on too. The only thing that was different was that the shirts we wore with the hood were different color. I wore purple, Kira had blue, Claire had red and Kyrie had green.

Suddenly, they all started to wake up. The first to see me was Claire who looked relieved to see me. Then they all noticed their changes and stared at me.

“What?”

“M-Mayu...”

“Y-Y-You’re...”

“What is it?” I asked again, slight annoyed.

“You had cat ears and a tail!” Kira blurted out and my eyes widen. I reached the top of my head and sure enough, I had ears. My human ears were gone and I can see my tail swishing around. I bit my tongue, trying not to scream and looked at them.

“That’s the least of our worries, you guys.” I said, coolly as they nodded slowly in agreement. “Now, we need to find...”

“Can I touch them?” Claire asked as we all looked at her. My ears twitched and I shrugged.

“If you want.... but seriously we need to find out where we are.” I explained as the second eldest girl got up and walked over to me. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much space without any buildings...”

“Yeah, it’s like were in a fantasy...”Kyrie said, looking at the sky and the green grass. I felt Claire tweak my ears, which made my tail swish faster.

“Okay, stop that!” I said, moving away from her as she giggled. “Kyrie, I think you might be on to something.” They glanced at me. “About your fantasy theory.”

“What do you mean?”

“Has the Playstation talked before after you saved and turned it off for any other game?” I asked her as she shook her head. “I thought so.”

“Is it a possibility that we are in Final Fantasy IX?” Claire asked as I got up and dusted my self off.

“Yes. It’s highly likely---”

“I’M GONNA SEE...BLANK! BLANK! BLANK!” Kira started to cheer as we looked at her like she was crazy. “Don’t look at me like that! Kyrie, you’re gonna see Amarant!” The older girl’s eyes lit up.

“YAY! AMARANT! AMARANT! AMARANT!” As Kyrie cheered about Amarant, Kira was ranting about Blank.

“Claire, join us! I know you wanna see... KUJA!” They smirked as Claire tried to hide her blush. I giggled softly and placed a hand on my hip.

“For people, who don’t know how to fight, you sure are happy.” They stopped and turned to me as I crossed my arms and smirked. “Don’t you remember; Random encounters?”

“Of course.” Kira cleared her throat. “Why, hello there Kyrie.” Kyrie waved at her. “What do you have planned for today?” The older girl pointed to the side. “Saving the world, you say?” She nodded, and her expression turned sad. “But what’s that Kyrie? You need to cross the Over World Map? Not a problem!” Kyrie gave her a thumbs-up. “But there is one thing you must keep in mind, beware of the random battles!” She lifted her hands to her mouth in shock.

“...Idiots.” I shook my head, smiling as they laughed. “But seriously, I don’t even know if...” I trailed off and they stared at me. “Nothing!” I smiled, waving my hands in front of me.

“I realized something...” Kira started as Kyrie smirked slightly.

“Really, now? Usually, you’re the slowest person.”

“You wanna scrap!?”

“Damn straight!”

“Guys!” I yelled at them, causing them to stop and turn away from each other. Claire giggled from beside me. “Jeez...”

“We’re like the four Links.” The short haired girl said as we all glanced at her. “I mean, look at us!”

“You do have a point,” Claire said. “We’re each wearing the colors too; Green, blue, red and purple.”

“That means Kira would be Blue.” Kyrie said.

“Why the hell would I be him!?” The younger girl snapped as we laughed at her.

“You’re the over-confident and short-tempered one, which makes you Blue, Buru.” I smirked as she started to curse at me, saying she wasn’t short tempered. Claire tried to calm her down, but ended up getting intimidated.

“Claire, you’re Red.” The eldest girl said placing a hand on the girl’s shoulder. “You happy all the time and you get scared pretty easily..” Kyrie grinned, pointing over to a sulking Kira.

“Well, you’re Green, so shut up!” Kira said, sticking her tongue out at the elder girl. “You’re so aggressive and try to force too many things.” They all turned to me.

“What? So I’m Vio? The calm, self-possessed one? Or should I say emo?” I said with a bored expression as they laughed. “How are we going to get home?”

There was a silence and everyone looked down. I was starting to worry about home. What will happen if we’re here? And what of Riku? Is time frozen or is it just going by, with us erased from their memories?

“Mayu!”

“Huh?” I turned around, only to be whipped into a tree.

“You bastard!”

“Who the hell are you!?”

I slid down the bark of the tree and coughed up blood. I looked at my friends to see the creature advancing Claire. Always kill off the weak one. To tell the truth, I was scared out of fucking mind but I was worried about Claire’s safety.

Slowly, I got off the floor and picked up a rock. The demon that hit was a giant spider, apparently a very strong one. I coughed again and wiped the blood from my mouth. I lifted the rock and tossed it at the spider.

Missed. But that drew its attention to me.

“Mayu!” Claire cried out happily as I struggled to stand. I’ve never been hit that hard, and flying to a tree too. It started to run towards me and my eyes widen in fear. Aw, shit son.

I flew again, but this time, it was near the edge of a cliff. I land on my back again and blood escaped my mouth as it made contact. My head stop a few inches away from the cliff and I heard Claire scream. I looked up the best I could. My eyes widen and my body shook. Blood dripped to the floor.

Kira’s eyes are widen and faded as her body fell limp. The spider’s leg pierced through her stomach, blood spilling down its leg.

“KIRA!!!!!”
