Chapter Three

Janet was shocked to see Sephiroth more than content to lay there completely at peace when she returned six hours later. The pain from before forgotten as his mind revelled in.... what ever... Daniel had done.

"I see you’re feeling better," she inquired walking over to take his temperature. Pushing her hand away, refusing the thermometer, he giggled.

"Mako... I call him mako..." He laughed again. Janet only frowned as those magnificent green eyes closed again. He fell asleep that night. Close to midnight, much to Janet’s relief. She took this time to take his temperature and blood pressure, surprised when he didn’t even stir.

The peace didn’t last. Three scant hours after falling into sleep, Sephiroth's eyes shot open and he stared at the ceiling, unseeing.

"Mako," he whispered. Janet only had a few moments to strap him down before he violently tried to throw himself from the bed.

"Damn it you bitch! I need Mako!" he screamed at her before a seizure shuddered through his body. Someone finally decided to see if she was okay almost twenty minutes later.

"Get Doctor Jackson down here. What ever he did worked last time," she shouted not bothering to check who it was while she tried to calm the writhing man.

Convinced she couldn’t help him and he wouldn't be able to hurt himself if she left, Janet waited outside the door. Listening to the cries of pain and anguish, she hoped Daniel would get there soon. Not to disappoint, moments later Daniel was running down the hall, a guard in tow. Probably the one who had checked on her and then been sent to find him.

"How is he?" Jackson asked as soon as he was close enough.

Janet shrugged. "The withdrawal is getting worse, and so is his reaction to it. I don't know what you did last time, and I don’t care, but if he keeps this up he's going to hurt himself." Daniel stared at her a moment, the slightest look of shame and confusion flicked in his eyes.

"Right," he said softly before clearing his throat and ducking past her to slip into the room.
