Authors Notes: All disclaimers are in first chapter as is the full description of the story. Okay as I have said this is an AU, so yes characters will be OOC, so far just Auron, but yeah we will see how long that lasts. I am sorry it took me so long to update, I had trouble getting this chapter to flow as I wanted it too.
~~~~~~(Last chapter)
"Lady Yuna." He says softly as he bows respectively to her. "I wasn't expecting you here, but when I recognized your Ronso guardian I had to at least say hello." He says as he rises gracefully from his bow. "On my way down to the lodge, I thought I saw two of your guardians, one seemed hurt is everything okay? And is there anything I can do?" He finishes as he locks eyes with the young girl before him. He hoped by showing his concern for the Guado intended he could informally meet her other guardians, this allowing him to single out the scent of his mate, or at least disqualifying them as his intended.
~~~~~~
"I am sorry Measter Seymour, though my guardian is sick, I can not let you see him." Yuna says as she looks down at the floor, she wrings her hands together before looking up once more. She was about to continue on with her apology as to why he couldn't help when she felt a light hand on her shoulder, stopping her.
"My lady, we know that Tidus wouldn't want to many to see him in his condition, but perhaps the Measter Seymour could help us figure out what is wrong with him, as well as what we could do to help him." Lulu says softly as she glances to the changed Guado before her. Seymour bowed his head to the harsh looking guardian in silent thanks.
"Your right Lulu, I hadn't thought of that." Yuna says as her raises one hand to her lips in thought. Could she allow one more into Tidus's rooms in hopes of helping him? Would Tidus forgive her for that? She thought back to the small time she had spent with the blonde boy in their group and silently nodded her head. "Very well, Measter Seymour wont you please fallow us?" Yuna asks as she smiles, she waited for his nod before turning on her heal to lead him back down the hallway.
The walk down the hallway was a short one; Seymour wasn’t paying attention to the destination to lost in his thoughts about what he would find, as well as taking care to memorize both Yuna’s scent as well as Lulu’s. He knew both of these girls were not his mate, Yuna’s scent allow made him want to retch it was so sweet. Lulu’s on the other hand was old iceberry mixed with lavender, a cold sweet scent alluring to others but not to him. He watched as Yuna hit the doors opener before walking in as quietly as she could. He waited for Lulu to enter before going in himself.
Once in side the surprisingly large room, it was filled with all of the lady Summoners guardians. Seymour looked around slowly taking in all of their positions, before bowing his head in acknowledgement of their prayer stance. He glanced to the bed, where two forms huddled. One shivering drastically though it was slowing second by second, and would continue to slow as long as their was a Guado in the room: it wouldn’t fully stop, no it would only stop once the boy’s mate kissed him for the first time. The first kiss in the Guado’s mating ritual was a silent statement of claiming, it would settle the need and instincts that the intended wasn’t used to. The other form held the boy tight to the side, trying to warm the supposedly chilled form that was under the covers.
Seymour walked into the room and headed to the empty bed across from the forms covered in blankets. As he passed the red haired Wakka, he took in a deep breath to take in his scent, though he knew just by looking at him that he wasn’t his intended. His scent alone confirmed it, though musky it was a different sort of musk, the musk you found on a forested island full of vegetation, heated by the strong sun. There was very little else to the scent other then that musk. He didn’t even have to look towards the Ronso, their species never mixed, couldn’t mix actually. That left only the two forms on the bed, Seymour sat lightly on the bed as he looked into the eye of Sir Auron.
“Sir Auron.” He says softly once more bowing his head to the man. He leans forwards a bit to pull down the blanket to get a look at the face of the trembling boy, but his wrist was caught in a strong hold of the man lying beside the boy. “Don’t worry Sir Auron; I am only here to see if there is anything I can do, to help the boy.” Seymour says as he takes his eyes off the golden hair of the boy. He waits for the guardians nod and the releasing of his wrist before once more starting to pull at the blanket.
Seymour blinked twice, as a flash from his dream assaulted his mind, it was a beautiful face, with a wide smile, laughing blue eyes and golden hair. In seconds the image was gone. Blinking once more he pulls the blanket away from the pale face that was relaxing from its grimace of pain. He sucked in a silent breath of wonder, the boy’s face was the face from his dreams, Seymour leaned in closer to breath in the scent of the boy, but all he got was the congealing, smothering scent of the far plane. Seymour looks up sharply at Sir Auron, a frown marring his features.
Though the boys face was the face from his dreams, he had had dreams before of people who turned out later to be important allies. He needed to smell his scent to determine once and for all if the boy was his intended or not. But it would seem he would have to wait till the boy was washed and away from Sir Auron to get even a taste of his scent. The smell of the far plane clung to people masking there own scent, in such away that you felt choked by it. It didn’t smell horrendous like Lady Yuna’s sickeningly sweet scent; no it was more like a thick fog like scent that clung to everything.
“The boy will be fine, once his Mate arrives to claim him. Let us hope that his mate comes quickly, other wise the boy will suffer needlessly for three months. If the Guado doesn’t come soon the boy might die.” Seymour says softly as he places his hand gently on the boy’s forehead, watching intently as the boys shakes again slow a bit allowing him to take easier breaths. “For know my presence will help.” He adds as he watches Auron’s eyes widen.
“Said boy needed mate, mate not come yet.” The Ronso says with a stiff nod, as he watches the Measter. “No way to call mate?” Kimahri asks the Guado as he takes a few steps closer.
“Sadly no, we have no way to call the mate of this boy here, not me any ways. The boy is silently calling to his mate, the pull will lead the Guado to where he is, if your group doesn’t move to often.” Seymour says with a shake of his head, not looking away from the boy who was nuzzling into his touch a soft murmur escapes the boy’s slightly parted lips as he relaxes fully.
“Mate need to hurry, boy wasn’t ready, did not know what to expect.” The Ronso continued to say as he looks to the other guardians who were shocked. In Spira it was a great honor to be the intended mate of a Guado. For Tidus to be one, brought more honor and good luck to their pilgrimage, as long as the mate got there in time. Seymour nodded his head as he forces his eyes to meet Sir Auron’s.
“I will need to stay as close to the boy as possible, the continued stress of the pain and his own soul calling out to his mate, will eventually put to much strain on his heart, which is what causes the death of intendeds.” Seymour murmurs to the oldest guardian trying to explain why he would need to touch the boy. In Guado culture, it was sacrilegious for one Guado to touch the intended of another with out a chaperone. “I will need to be in contact with the boy as much as possible, as you know Sir Auron, I will need a chaperone.” Seymour finishes before glancing once more to the boy, the back of his hand caressing the boy’s cheek, careful not to cut him with his claws.
“It would be my honor to chaperone you Measter Guado, so no dishonor may afflict you or on your own search for your mate.” Sir Auron replies in the traditional rely of acceptance of the role of chaperone, which was another honor all on its own.
