Rest?

Vincent sat on the bank of the river, soaked to his skin in the hot sun. Their equipment hadn’t faired any better, and by not fairing better, he meant they had none. All of their supplies, left behind in Rocket town. The girls’ spare clothing and their food, all in the hands of ShinRa and left to be sold by the innkeeper. Although, Yuffie had run back, claiming she could regain their things before nightfall. Cid, Cloud and Barret were all three sitting by a fire they had built (their reason completely unknown) as the girls spoke pleasantly to each other. Nanaki was seated by him, warming himself from the cold dip into the icy river.

~“Just take a look at those breasts,” Chaos purred within Vincent’s mind. “Pushing against that wet cloth, begging to be released.”~

‘Chaos,’ Vincent groaned. ‘Not now, please.’

~“Oh but Vincent, surely you remember what it felt like to see her flesh above us? To feel her rest upon our lap, completely vulnerable to our touch.”~

‘She merely fell asleep,’ Vincent brushed it off.

~“Ah, but she fell asleep with us, trusting us.~

‘It’s that trust which I will not destroy with this half baked idea of yours.’

~So you have grown attached…”~

Had he? He barely knew anything about her, only that she was nothing like his Lucrecia. However, he was glad she wasn’t. Tifa seemed much stronger, more emotional and considerate of other people’s feelings.

“So, I take it you and Sweetheart ain’t really married?” Cid had come to sit by Vincent, cigarette hanging from his mouth. “Damn shame, you looked like a real match.”

“…Why are you over here?”

“Hell those two %^&*$ idiots over there are making my #%^@& brain hurt!” Cid grunted. “Back to what I was sayin…are you and Tifa knocking boots?”

Vincent was taken aback by Cid’s bluntness. “That is not your business.”

“Like hell, if she’s up for grabs…$#&@,” Cid grinned at him.

“She is not,” Vincent spoke lowly. “Find a woman in towns we pass.”

He rose and began to make his way to the tree line. He needed to dry off, and did not need to do so before an audience. Faint flickers of doing so with Tifa came, and for once he could not blame his counterpart. He could hear the demons laughter however, much to his annoyance.

His cloak was the first thing he shed, wringing it out and hanging it on a branch in the sun. He kicked off his shoes as well, followed by his removing his shirt. All of which were set in the sun before he jumped into a branch above him. He wondered and wondered, why was he forgetting Lucrecia so easily? He shouldn’t be, not when he loved her as much as he did. A part of him however, felt betrayed by her actions. She knew how he felt yet she turned him away still.

Heading his way, unknown to either party, was Tifa, kicking and punching her way through anything that was stupid enough to come across her. Her shirt was still wet, her boots were squishing and her spare clothes were in Rocket Town.

‘That…that…that jerk!’ she thought to herself. ‘How dare he come up to me and ask that! Of all the insensitive things a girl could hear…’

With one good yell and a roundhouse kick to the tree beside her, she dropped to the ground in a huff. It was only after seating her self that something red and wet fell on her face. To frustrated to panic and too annoyed to think clearly she began fighting with it, grumbling and growling the entire time.

“…Calm down…”

Vincent’s voice came from above her and she did calm slightly, just enough to unwind herself from the crimson fabric. As her head poked out, she realized what it was; yet as she looked about she failed to see where Vincent was. She finally looked up to see pale feet and shadows.

“Stupid Cid…do you know what he asked me? He asked if I’d ever been a stripper! And then he asked if I’d ever taken any under the table jobs!” She blinked before mumbling. “Sorry I kicked your tree.”

“…It is fine…”

“Vincent, do you mind if I hang my clothes up by yours? I’ll even hang your clothes back up…and in a better spot.”

“…”

Tifa took his silence as a yes and began her job of stripping down. She did debate mentioning the problem that had happened between Aeris and Cloud, but worried over whether or not Vincent would care. He didn’t seem to care about her lack f clothing, so maybe he’d be okay listening to her.

“Uhm…There was another problem too,” Tifa said. “Back at camp, Aeris and Cloud decided to share a tent. I don’t know if you know this, but Cloud and I grew up together. I’ve always had a bit of a crush on him…so…this is hard to see, you know?”

Vincent could understand perfectly. Loving one who would never know, someone who was more concerned with their goals than anyone around them. Lucrecia had felt for Hojo, on a base level, she loved his work and his mind. But that wasn’t love.

“I’m starting o wonder if maybe we weren’t meant to be,” Tifa continued below him. “Do you think he finds me unattractive?”

Holy knew he didn’t think her unattractive; it took all the strength he had not to jump her where she sat. “…Perhaps he does not know of your affections for him?”

“I’ve tried telling him before, but he just doesn’t understand it.”

“Perhaps you should sleep on it then,” Vincent suggested. “I will wake you when our clothing dries.”

“You’re such a gentleman,” She smiled up at him. She could see a bit more than his feet now, a lot more actually. Like his chest and his low hung pants…they did hang very low. She couldn’t make out much, but she could tell he was fit.

“Vincent…never mind.”

~“We should peek into her mind,” chaos purred. “Push her away from that pathetic boy.”

‘She hates being invaded, we heard her tell us that herself.’

~“We wouldn’t be contaminating her,” Chaos laughed. “We’d be showing her light. Come, let us have a bit of fun.”

‘Chaos, she is too innocent!’

~“She’s blown up Mako reactors and killed hundreds through her actions, she has just as much blood on her hands as you. Possibly more.” Chaos began pulling Vincent into the realm of darkness, dreams and nightmares. “Lets go tuck her in.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tifa Lockheart’s mind was nothing like he expected. It was split up into two different halves; one side was light and cheerful, like a garden in full bloom with beauty pouring out of every nuance. A house, much like one he’d seen in Neibelhelm, stood at the center of it. There were many people there, all smiling and laughing, it was like a garden party.
However, on the other side of the horizon, loomed a dark and foreboding castle. Overgrown and foreboding, it was surrounded by a dark forest and fierce eye could be seen peering out from the growth.
“What a disturbing image,” Chaos laughed from beside him. His leathery wings were folded around him and his image was fluttering to something more presentable, more like Vincent. “To think, she could hold so much darkness in her…but where is our dearly beloved?”
“Beloved?” Vincent asked. “A beast like you could not know love.”
“That may be true, but I do know what I want in my mate. Oh don’t give me that look, from the beginning I’ve wanted her as a mate. Now enough of your gawking, let’s find her.”
The garden party, Vincent soon realized, was anything but pleasant. It was a nightmare of the worst kind, the kind where everything was too bright and too binding, where the clowns that were trying to make you laugh were making you cry and hide your eyes. The people at the party were people she knew, members of the Avalanche he knew and a few others he’d never met. All of which had their roles twisted and warped dramatically. Giants and dunce’s, perverts with wings and a queen of hearts sitting pretty in pink.
“This is…disturbing,” Vincent spoke aloud. Strangely enough, he could not find a version of himself here.
“What is that over there?” Chaos pointed out before walking to a rosebush beside the house. Crouching there, in the dirt was a child. Wine eyes and black hair coupled with snowy skin and a face that could only be Tifa’s.
“Hello dear,” Chaos smiled at her. “What’s wrong?”
“Wh-who are you?”
“Tifa,” Vincent joined in. “don’t worry about a thing alright? Just come with us.”
“Are you taking me back to the lab?”
The lab? “No, not at all,” Vincent said, bringing her close to him. She really was little in this world she’d created. So small and fragile, almost unnoticeable. Perhaps…that was how she saw herself.
“Where would you like to go dear?” Chaos asked in a debonair fashion as the three of them left the rose garden. “To the stars? Or the ocean?”
Tifa shook her head wildly before pointing to the castle. “I want to go home! That way, my knight will come and rescue me!”
“Your knight?”
Her face scrunched up funnily at the two of them. “You are acting funny today.”
Before either male could ask her more questions, a blaring noise caused Tifa to disappear in a wisp of smoke. Vincent felt himself thrust back into his own body and upon opening his eyes, realized that it was dark. The noise sounded again, it was the yelling of their traveling companions.
“Tifa,” he shook her awake. She jerked up, still half asleep and immediately registered her situation. With a small ‘eep’ she grabbed her clothes and ran behind his cloak to dress. He also began to dress, grabbing his shirt and putting it on with a practiced ease. No sooner than the last buckle was done than Yuffie came bouncing through the brush, Nanaki telling her firmly to slow down.
Yuffie was slightly disappointed to see Tifa just sitting there while Vincent stood by the tree. They were both looking into the distance at the sunset. The claret and bronze and oranges and yellows made the two of them look like fire.
Even she was loathe to interrupt the scene they made.
‘Nyuknyuknyuk…if Tifa goes after Vincent, then that’s one less person to compete with over Cloud! Nyuk nyuk nyuk!’
“Hey Nanaki,” Yuffie whispered. “Lets let those two sit a bit longer eh?”
As the young ninja walked back to camp, she began to plot not only a way to get together with Cloud, but a way to put Vincent together with Tifa as well. Poor Barret would be heartbroken, but she quite honestly didn’t care. The old man should find someone more his age and in his weight class.
Besides, someone as emotionally retarded as Vincent needed Tifa to balance him out. She was nice and caring and most importantly, Tifa kept Yuffie’s head on her shoulders when everyone else wanted to take it off. She made a good camp mother, because she was always making sure everyone ate and she made sure everyone was packed.
If Yuffie could hazard a guess, Vincent would be the stern father type, though she had no clue what that type was. Godo wasn’t really a shining example of fatherhood. Vincent was…a sort of dark knight to her, especially with the pointy metal shoe aspect. He was nice enough, he had to be if Tifa was so stuck on him, and he made sure to keep everyone covered when they fought. He didn’t make problems or curse a lot and he actually let her prattle on about her problems back home.
That was pretty cool of him all things considered. Yuffie couldn’t count the number of times she’s seen either herself or Nanaki or Tifa going to him and speaking. Wait a minute…you can you see yourself? The ninja shook her head of thoughts before they went back to camp. Thoughts usually meant trouble for her.
“We should all go to Wutai!” Yuffie shouted as she emerged from the trees. Just as she planned, any questions revolving around the nonexistent Tifa and Vincent beside her had turned to smoke in the wind. They were instead replaced with confused looks and accusations of planting traps. Well even if she did spring her trap a bit before she meant to it was for a much better cause than she had planned before.
Aeris was dumb, but she wasn’t so dumb as to not realize that Tifa and Vincent had still not returned. Nor was she oblivious to the fact that they’d both left about the same time at dinner last night, she knew they left for Cid’s house together and ‘acted’ as a newlywed couple.
Aeris wondered if they’d really acted at all. Shera had seemed so taken with their story of running away from their friends in the night…but they’d only met a few days ago…hadn’t they? The more she thought about it the more she thought that maybe they’d met before. They did come from the same town after all. Tifa’s house wasn’t very far from the ShinRa mansion and frome what she knew about Tifa, the girl had been very adventurous in her youth…but wouldn’t that mean she’d met Vincent as a child? Now that was just wrong! Of both of them! Him for taking an innocent girl and her for trying to go for Cloud at the same time! No doubt she’d had a hand at Sepheroth as well! A sharp yell from the planet cut off her thoughts, it seemed to be quite angry with her.
Which either meant she was too close to the truth, or she couldn’t be further from it. So which one was it?
Barret was slightly, and by slightly I mean incredibly, annoyed by the sudden closeness between the two red eyed people. It was bad enough she was pining over Cloud, a former Soldier, but a former Turk! Maybe those ShinRa bastards really had done something to her all those years ago. She’d been wearing a stolen lab coat when he found her for Holy’s sake!
She was beyond helpful when it came to helping raise Marlene, teaching her math and reading and writing. As soon as she’d raised enough funds, she bought a bar and served members of Avalanche half-priced drinks. He remembered when the old hideout had been discovered, how she’d hidden them all in her cellar. Eventually, the cellar had become a place for Avalanche to hold meetings and do their thing.
When she finally joined them she’d been the same sweet girl as before, but her planning skills helped the tremendously. Her fighting skills frightened him sometimes and the worst part of it all was that sometimes she never realized what was going on.
Like the time the frying pan had gone through the wall because she slipped. Barret was fine with her being strange, it only added to that charm she had. And the martial artists body was most definitely kickin’. The large man would not deny himself the thought of her during late nights or time alone. He wouldn’t deny himself thoughts of her nude body whilst in the shower. He was a man and no matter how many times he tried to make himself remember she was younger, or that she was thinking of Cloud or Marlene more than him…
He still wanted he to be Marlene’s mother, legally.
He glanced around at the other people on their impromptu boat, his eyes caught on Vincent. Pointy shoed, clawed, long haired, sissy looking Vincent. Who also happened to turn into a purple pointy horned demon. Barret only found out what the damn thing was called through Tifa. She was the only he actually took an initiative to speak with, as small as it was.
The thing that was irritating the black man the most right now, was that Tifa and Vincent had claimed marriage to get information. And they hadn’t been too keen on Cid and Shera finding out the truth. The two of them might even use it later on in their chase after Sephiroth. And that pissed Barret off. Tifa had more of a chance convincing people that she was married to Aeris!
There was a kinky thought.
Back to Vincent and Tifa, She was sitting next to him for Holy’s sake! Laughing and being all…herself. Maybe he was reading too much into it. Maybe it was all an act and Vincent was just humoring Tifa. Or maybe she was just asking for his help.
Or maybe Barret didn’t even have a chance because she was stuck on Cloud. For some bizarre reason preferred that thought to any other. The bushes made a bit of noise as the others continued to argue with Yuffie and he looked over to see Vincent and Tifa coming out. Tifa was reaching up to pull a leaf out of Vincent’s hair and he was dusting her back off.
Barret’s mind went crazy as it cooked up scenarios. Why would he be dusting her back off? Had he…but after just seeing Sephiroth shouldn’t Tifa be in need of comfort and not…that? Maybe she needed to feel like she was still hot and stuff.
But why him! Why that damn Turkey?!
“Yuffie,” Tifa calmed the situation just by speaking. “Well go to Wutai alright? I’m sure we’d all like a rest before going to the temple of the ancients. Right Cloud?”
“A warm bed would be nice,” Aeris agreed. “With soft pillows and blanket’s.”
“Well, okay then. We’ll head for Wutai,” Cloud agreed. “So lets all rest up before night comes.”
Aeris did not go with Cloud surprisingly. Instead she joined the girls in their tent.
“We’ll have to buy some more once we hit Wutai,” Aeris laughed uncomfortably. “Tents that is.”
“My countries tents are very different from this,” Yuffie said. “For one they have a bottom, and their thicker and warmer.”
“That sounds very nice,” Tifa said in a happy sigh. “ But are they bigger?”
The girls were having slight trouble fitting all of their sleeping bags next to each other. First they tried widthwise, and then lengthwise, but it was a square tent so neither worked.
“That’s it,” Tifa groaned. “All in favor of having two sleeping bags for padding and one for a blanket say ‘aye’.”
The vote was unanimous and soon the girls had made one large bed to share. The girls did get along most of the time, as long as they didn’t start talking about guys. Tonight though, Aeris was going to start pushing Tifa over to Vincent. Cloud was just too plain stupid to realize the brunette existed. Aeris herself wasn’t interested in Cloud either because he just wasn’t Zax.
“So Tifa,” Aeris began. “I’ve seen you getting pretty close with mister Valentine.”
“What! I don’t know what you mean,” Tifa said with a small blush.
“Oh come on,” Yuffie joined in. “I saw you two all buddy-buddy and watching the sunset.”
“You two did stay out pretty long,” Aeris agreed. “And I did notice you didn’t come back with Yuffie. So what does he kiss like?”
“Aeris!” Tifa gasped. “We’ve never kissed, we haven’t even hugged!”
“Ouch!” Yuffie exclaimed. “That’s defiantly putting a damper on things.”
“Argh! You two are insufferable,” Tifa scoffed before facing away from them and going to sleep. Sleep was hard to come by as the other two girls giggled, but they quieted eventually and Tifa found herself beginning to drift off. There was something that bugged her though. And that was Aeris and her question.
‘I wonder if Vincent is a good kisser,” Tifa mused. The thought of the pale man’s dusty rose lips kept going through her mind, causing her to toss and turn. Yuffie’s grunt made her stop and just get out of bed. Maybe a walk would help her find sleep, or at least something to do.
The fire was still going in their circle of tents, being tended to by the very man occupying her thoughts. She thought for a moment and realized why he wasn’t sleeping in a tent; he couldn’t fit in any of them. Barret was sharing with Nanaki and Cid with Cloud. Cait had shut down for the night and was lying lazily against a tree.
“You should be sleeping,” She heard. It was Vincent talking in his chocolate voice. His chocolate voice was the one she heard when it was just the two of them.
“I can’t,” Tifa said quietly. “Aeris said something before bed.”
“I see.” If he was waiting to hear what it was, he had another thing coming!
“Yeah. So, taking watch?” Tifa went to sit next to the cold looking man. During their time in the rocket, she had discovered him to be quite warm.
“Much like you,” He said, “I cannot sleep. I have slept far too long.”
“Oh yeah,” Tifa said.
“But,” he began again, causing Tifa to look up from her spot on his shoulder. “That does not mean I am unable to aid you.”
“Wha-“
Tifa was cut off by a pair of lips on her own, masterful in skill and oh so soft. The kiss was deep and sent shockwaves through body as her pulled her onto his lap. She responded quickly enough, allowing him to deepen this kiss and run his tongue teasingly across her own before intertwining it. His claw began to graze up her back in a teasing way, making her shudder against him and moan aloud.
That noise made her want to put a stop to this and Tifa tried pushing him away. “Vincent, we can’t.”
The man in leather was busy kissing his way down her neck and running his human hand up her thigh. “Please Vincent, the others might hear uuhh.”
Vincent had a firm grip on her ass and was dragging his fingers closer and closer to her sex, each pass adding a bit more pressure and making Tifa gasp just a bit more. Finally, his fingers worked their way under her skirt and began to rub against her clit.
“Shh,” Vincent whispered into her ears. “Anymore noise and we’ll have to stop.” Vincent bit her neck gently before speaking again. “You don’t want that now do you?”
Tifa shook her head and bit her lip as the dark man’s chocolaty bedroom voice drifted across her ears and his fingers started to delve into her pussy. His claw had slid around now, fondling her bared chest and flicking her nipple. When her shirt left she had not a clue, and as his burning mouth encased her small bud of flesh, she didn’t even care.
His finger were back to her clit and Tifa was grinding against the man, meeting his hips as his claw came down to urge her forward. His teeth began to bite at her breasts a bit more, a bit harder before suckling like a new born. The grazing metal danger and the harsh treatment of his mouth combined with the caress of her sex and maddening thrusts began sending Tifa into overdrive. Her breath came short as the familiar intensity began to build in her stomach. And then, as he kissed her hard on the mouth he drove his fingers in and hit her G spot.
Tifa screamed and shot up, alerting Yuffie beside her and Aeris on the other side. Yuffie had her Shuriken in hand and was mumbling about materia before falling backwards again and snoring away.
“Nightmare?” Aeris asked with a grin.
Cat person is a very misleading term
