Lulu: I'm not being critical. Just pointing something out.

Wakka: Every bit we can learn helps, ya?

Chapter 2: Meeting Another Summoner
"Hey! It's this way!" Wakka called out to them. Tidus followed him, with Amber walking beside him. Anya’s stomach growled again, causing her cheeks to turn bright red. “Hold on, ya?” Wakka said, heading over towards the beach once again. “Botta!” He called out to one of the players. The player whose name he’d called ran over to him. Anya watched as Wakka spoke with him for a moment before both of them walked back over to the others.
“Lady Anya, Botta ‘ere will show ya the way back to the village. I need to talk with these two.” He said, pointing with his thumb at Tidus and Amber.
Anya gave a slight bow. “Okay. And thanks.” She said with a smile before following the blitzball player in a different direction.
Amber watched her sister walk off and gave a slight sigh. ‘I’m supposed to be her guardian, but I’m sure she can handle a few minutes without me around.’ She thought.
“Hey you two! Over here!” Wakka said, waving Amber and Tidus over to a ledge. Tidus approached Wakka, as Amber followed the two of them stand over to the ledge. Below the ledge is a large body of water. Tidus looks down at the water, while Wakka stealthily moves behind him
Tidus looked down from the edge of the cliff. "Huh?"
Wakka smirked as he pushed him with one arm, causing both Tidus and Amber, whom Tidus had grabbed as he was falling, landing with a splash. Wakka, laughed and then dove in after them.
Tidus surfaced and looked at Wakka. "What's the big idea?"
Amber surfaced just after Tidus. “That wasn’t funny!”
Wakka dismissed their questions and the three of them swam through the waters towards land. After a while Wakka got up behind Tidus and got him in a headlock. Amber only laughed at the two men.
Tidus squirmed to get away from the older man. "Lemme go!"
Wakka just laughed a bit. "Got a favor to ask ya." Tidus only kept squirming. "You want me on your team, right?"
Amber swam over to the other two, floating in the water with a calm look on her face as swam. “Play nice guys.” She joked.
Wakka let go as Tidus sunk below the water, then surfaced again. “A major blitz tournament's coming up. All the teams in Spira'll be there! It's so huge, I'm sure someone there will recognize you! Then you can go back to your old team, right? It'll be fun! What do you say, huh? Come on, come on!” Wakka said, sounding like a little kid in a candy shop.
Tidus solemnly floated in the water, looking at the sky. “Sure thing.”
Amber looked at Tidus, noticing his expression and frowned a bit.
“You too, Amber. We could use both of you on our team.” Wakka said. “Plus, if you don’t have a team, you could always stay with ours.”
“Tempting offer, Wakka. But I can’t. Stay with the team, that is. I’m Anya’s guardian after all.” She said. “But I’ll still play for you guys during the tournament. It’s the least I can do.”
Wakka smiled happily at her words. “Dude! Our team is gonna rock, eh?"
Amber followed the two towards the shore, smirking for a moment. “Hey guys, check this out!” She said, shutting her eyes and causing to large black wings to appear on her back.
Tidus was in awe, as was Wakka. “So that’s really what it’s like to look at an Avion’s wings.” Wakka said.
“So your sister can do that too?” Tidus asked.
For some reason, Amber looked down, seemingly upset about something.
After the trio finally arrived at solid land and met up with Anya again, the two sisters explored the small village of Besaid. Anya and Amber followed what little memories that they had of the game and covered every inch of the village. They had met Luzzu and Gatta in the inn.
“Ok, we’ve done everything we’re supposed to do before Tidus goes and takes a nap.” Amber pointed out.
“I know. Maybe we should take a nap as well.” Anya said.
“Well, how do we know we’re not dreaming already?” Amber suggested. “I still have a hard time believing that we’re really in the game.”
“Good point.” Anya said as she crossed her arms.
“Let’s go find some water and splash ourselves or something. No, I got kicked in the head last time I was in the water.”
“That did not look pretty either.” Anya said with a sweatdrop. She rubbed the back of her head, causing Amber to noticed that her hand had a light bandage.
“What happened to your hand?” She asked her ‘sister’.
“I tripped and cut my hand when Botta was bringing me to the village.” Anya told her, showing her slightly bandaged hand to her friend.
“Are you ok?” Amber questioned.
“Yeah. I only bled a little bit but…” Anya trailed off.
Amber stared at her hand then her friend’s face. “You were bleeding?” She asked, her voice slightly shaky.
Anya only nodded slowly. “Yes… I guess this is real after all.” She said.
“You’re right. This can’t be a dream if we can bleed here.” Amber said, putting her hands on her hips. “So what do we do?”
“For now…” Anya said, right before her stomach growled. “We eat.”
Amber nodded and the two headed to Wakka’s hut and finally satisfied their hunger. Following their meal, both sisters decided to take a nap to let their stomachs settle.
“Amber, Amber, wake up.” Anya said, shaking her sister’s shoulder. “Huh?” Amber replied in a sleepy tone.
“Listen, we have to go to the temple. Tidus is about to meet Yuna, Lulu and Kimahri.” Anya told her, sounding a bit worried.
Tiredly, Amber pulled herself out of the bed she was sleeping in and followed her older sister to the temple. Tidus was running up the stairs to the Cloister of Trials.
"The precepts must be obeyed!" The priest called to Tidus.
Tidus just turned and ran up the rest of the stairs. "Like I care!"
Anya looked at Amber and sighed. “Should we go after him?” She asked, knowing the answer already, both girls following after Tidus.
“This is no sweat. We’ve done this hundreds of times.” Amber said, entering the Cloister of Trails.
“We’re just lucky that this one is the easiest of the trails.” Anya pointed out before pulling out the stat guide, just to be sure.
When the girls met up with Tidus again, and got through the trials, they waited for Wakka to show up again. Anya had a weird feeling filling her mind and her stomach as she thought about meeting Lulu, Kimahri and Yuna.
"Hey!" Wakka called to them, mostly speaking to Tidus. "What's gotten into you? Hey, it's okay. Only summoners, apprentice summoners, and their guardians can enter here." Tidus seemed to nod to Wakka at that before he continued. "It's a tradition. Very important."
Tidus looked at Wakka. "So what about you?"
Wakka looked back at him. "Me? I'm a guardian."
Tidus crossed his arms slightly. "A guardian?"
Anya felt uneasy again as the stone platform elevator of sorts, beginning to move downwards. Wakka explained to Tidus the basic needs for summoners in Spira while Amber hummed to herself.
"Well, now that we've come this far..." He said with a slight laugh. "Might as well go all the way!"
The four walked into the room, and Anya and Amber widened their eyes, seeing Lulu and Kimahri.
"What are you doing here? Didn't think we'd be able to handle it?" Lulu snapped at Wakka.
Wakka seemed to loose some nerve at her tone. "No, it's uh...it's just..." He turned to Tidus. "See, I told you she gets mad easy."
Tidus ignored Wakka’s comment. "Is the summoner all right?"
"Who are you?" Lulu asked, seeing Tidus with a better glance now.
“He’s with us.” Anya said, stepping forward. Amber nodded as Lulu studied the two girls for a moment.
Amber turned at the sound of the door to the Chamber of Fayth opening. Anya widened her eyes a bit as she saw Yuna in the flesh, with her own eyes.
As she started to fall, Kimahri rushed up the stairs and caught the girl. When she assured the Ronso that she was fine, she turned to the others and smiled.
"I've done it. I have become a summoner!"
Later that night, while the village was celebrating Yuna becoming a true summoner, Anya snuck into the temple and down to the Chamber of Fayth, praying to Valefor to also grant her its powers. As she prayed, images came to her mind. At first, she thought that they were merely illusions. But then she realized something that surprised her. They were memories. Memories of growing up on Laputa with her mother, Alicetecha and her sister, Amber.
‘What’s this strange feeling?’ She asked herself. ‘These memories aren’t real… are they?’
She shook off the bad feeling in her mind and continued to pray. She prayed until she felt a soft wind surrounding her body and a voice speaking to her.
“I will grant you my power… child of the sky. Use me to command the wind.”
Anya was surprised as she heard the fayth speaking to her and felt her body fill with a strange sensation. On her wrist, where she was wearing a bracelet with four silver charms and one gold one, she noticed one of the silver charms turn gold.
‘Valefor… and Bahamut…’ She thought as she regained a normal breathing rate.
‘I’ll call Valefor ‘Mercury’. And Bahamut shall be ‘Seiryu’.’ She decided before she slowly made her way out of the temple and back to her sister, along with Tidus and the others.
