#3 Angst

Blood poured from the wound, trailing down his pale skin. His boot had been removed and was now sitting beside him on the rock. Since Noctis wore three-quarter length trousers, it was just fortunate that he didn't need to roll up the black material. Even though Noctis endured the bite wound on his leg, the only one freaking out over such a bite appeared to be Prompto. The poor blonde fumbled the bandages in his inventory, accidentally picking out all the loot and bottles of ethers in the process.

"What the heck, Prompto? Pull yourself together, man," grumbled Noctis. "We're out in the middle of the desert and it's late at night. Try not to attract any unwanted attention, yeah?"

Springing up to his feet, Prompto turned his back to Noctis for a moment. A smile painted on his face this time, Prompto sent a wave in Gladiolus's direction. "Gladio! Maybe you should score some hi-potions while I take care of Noct?"

Glancing at Prompto, the bigger man merely growled with a look of disgust on his features. "Since when do I take orders from you, Prompto?" Gladiolus snapped in the usual husky, gruff voice.

"Well, you know," the blonde started to laugh nervously while scratching his scalp. "Nevermind, okay?"

"It's just unfortunate that coeurl attacked us when it did. Those things are fast as hell. You best remember that and actually be prepared for once, huh? If it weren't for me, you two would have been long gone," snapped Gladiolus as he wiped the spit from his mouth.

"Okay! Okay!" Prompto panicked with a squeal.

Retreating to Noctis in the nearby cavern, Prompto pulled out a bandage from his inventory and wrapped this white cloth around Noctis's lower leg. Prompto grimaced at the sight of this deep bite, he bit onto his lower lip with fear on his mind. He struggled to even look at Noctis's face.

"Oh god...oh god..." Prompto wheezed, wrapping this bandage around Noctis's leg tightly. "How do you even keep a bandage in place? Uh..." Prompto picked out a rusty paperclip, soon clasping the white cloth together.

"That'll do," stated Noctis. "Thanks, Prompto."

"Anytime, I guess," chuckled Prompto as he took a step backward.

He exhaled a sigh of relief.

This sigh, however, caused the bigger man to grunt.

"Later on, when we eventually find a camp, I'll be teaching you a thing or two. You got that, Prompto?" Gladiolus threatened, having his large sword resting on his toned shoulder.

"Uh, okay?" Prompto replied with a gulp.

"Keep that in mind."

Watching the commotion take place between the two, Noctis merely rolled his eyes in contempt. He gripped onto the rocky wall above his arm, using it as support. Struggling to stand, Noctis cringed when he put pressure on his leg, but he knew he had to endure it. The sweat he felt turned cold when he stood up, and Noctis brushed his black fringe to one side as a way to rid the discomfort.

"I think...I would prefer it if this was a wound on my arm, you know?" Noctis remarked, letting out a slight groan. "Let's find a camp close by, yeah?"

"Hold onto me for support on the way," offered Prompto as he approached Noctis and swathed an arm around his torso.

Hand resting on Prompto's left shoulder, Noctis gave the blonde lad a quick nod of the head. He gave a small smile, shooting a glance at Prompto beside him. He let out a snicker when he heard Prompto wheeze at the support he gave.

"Don't strain yourself," mentioned Noctis in amusement.

Gladiolus, however, merely shook his head in disappointment. His shoulder-length brunette hair swayed with the movement, and Noctis always wondered how Gladiolus kept his hair in tact all the time. Well, seeing as Noctis often had to check his own hair after battle.

"I'll find us somewhere," proposed the heavily tattooed, bigger man. "For now, just grim and bear it."

"Gladio," voiced Noctis amidst the pain. "Where's Ignis?"

"Ignis? Ah, I believe he's trying to locate a town somewhere nearby...but he'll catch up to us if he doesn't," stated Gladiolus. With Noctis, his stern tone of voice changed drastically to a much calmer pitch. Well, for now.
