Chapter 4
Cloud walked outside the town. He didn’t like waiting around at all, so he practiced with his swo Ze Zell had to admit, this person had some skill with a sword. Cloud paused his practice.
Zell, “Does he know we’re here?”
Yuffie shrugged. Cloud seemed to be waiting for someone. Someone came over from out of town. He had short blond hair, with a scar that above his nose and goes down the right side of his nose.
Zell, “That has to be Seifer.”
Cloud waited for Seifer to walk over. Cloud ran into him while he was exploring the town. This man claimed he knew how Cloud came to this world. He then insisted Cloud and his friends go with him. Cloud said he would go on his own terms. This lead to some posturing and threatening. They eventually came down to a deal. First, they were to have an honor duel. Cloud didn’t expect to lose this one. He also was aware of Yuffie and Zell watching him. They n thn the fight with Seifer on the offensive. Cloud was getting a feel for Seifer’s fighting style. Cloud then began to presses his attack. He forces Seifer to go to the defensiveloudloud gets a good hit in and disarms Seifer.
Cloud, “I can leave in a moment.” He looked behind him, “Okay, you two may come out now!”
Yuffie and Zell crept out. Seifer didn’t look happy to see them. He grabs his gunblade and puts it up.
Seifer, “Hello, chicken wuss. Hiding like the wimp you are?”
Zell, “Shut up!”
Cloud snickers, “Chicken wuss?”
Yuffie, “Cloud! You’re not helping!”
Cloud, “I gonna go with him. You and Vincent stay with Zell.”
Yuffie, “Where are you going?”
Cloud, “To check something out.”
Seifer impatiently, “Time to leave!”
Cloud, “Sure.”
Seifer and Cloud walk off towards the south.
Yuffie groans, “Oye.... I better go find Vincent.”
They find him and tell him about Cloud ditching them. Vincent was a bit upset by this.
Yuffie, in exasperation, “First Cid and now Cloud.”
Zell, “Cid?”
Yuffie, “Yeah, Cid Highwind is our lost friend.”
Zell, “I know a Cid, but his last name isn’t Highwind.”
Vincent, “When does this place arrive?”
Zell, “By tomorrow. . . the latest. I have to go back to work there anyway.”
Yuffie, “What do you do?”
Zell, “I am a member of Seed.”
Yuffie, “Well, we’ll be at the inn. . . “ She hopes Cloud isn’t in over his head.
Next morning they see a flying structure come in from sea. Zell explains that it is called Balamb Garden. After it lands, Zell leads them inside. They are taken to the third floor to meet Kramer.
Yuffie, “Hey there!”
Vincent, “Hello.”
Zell, “This is Vincent and Yuffie.”
Kramer, “My name is Cid Kramer. How may I help you?”
Yuffie, “We are looking for a friend of ours. His name is Cid Highwind.” Then gives Cid Highwind’s description.
Kramer, “Oh? I have met him briefly.”
Yuffie, “He was here? Where is he?”
Kramer, “There was an attack on Garden and he left on top one of the attacking creatures.”
Yuffie, “Dang it!”
Vincent hardly raises an eyebrow, “We shouldn’t be surprised.”
Kramer, “I found no records on your friend. I know this has something to do with these strange energy burst.”
Vincent, “...... Yes....... We came through one of those energy bursts.”
Nida comes in, “Sir, we got a call from Dollet.”
Kramer, “Can you two wait here?”
Kramer goes and talks on the phone. He come back shortly.
Kramer, “We found your friend. He ended up in Dollet. Squall is going to bring him back here.”
Yuffie, “That is a relief.”
Vincent, “How long till he gets here?”
Kramer, “Not too long. We can talk this over some more while we drink some coffee.”
