Chapter Four: Sukkari Ishi Shinu (All Will Die)
Laguna and the others were in his big van when the police scanner came to life. "All units, all units report to 114 Dorch Street, the Deling Mental Hospital! SeeD are to be dispatched as well. Escape patient, extremly dangerous. Death cound unknown! Not sure if patient is still on grounds." The man said and it stopped.
They all went panic stricken. "Hurry!" Seifer said and Laguna stomped on the gas, passing many cars and getting honks. Seifer chewed on his lower lip and anxiously waited. 'Shit! I hope nothing happened to Squall.' He thought. They arrived to a scene of yellow tape, reporters, police cars, S.W.A.T, mourge you name it. It was utter chaos. "You don't think...." Kiros trailed off and everyone basically shook their heads.
They jumped out and they raced up to who looked like the person that was in charge. Seifer showed the man his I.D. "We're SeeD from Balamb. This is Laguna Loire, president of Esther and his aides. Kiros Seagil and Ward Zabac. We have a friend that's a patient here." He said and the police man fluffed his mustache, looking at their cards. "I see, the legendary SeeD's and the old Knight. Please all of you come with me. This may seem unorthodox, but your friend is Mr. Squall Leonhart, right?"
"Yes sir. Is he alright?" Laguna said and the man grimaced with a sigh. "No. Just come in, but I caution you. It's very bad in there." He said and they entered. They choked at the scene of blood, gore was everywhere. Dead people was all over, one was even getting taken off a wall by an officer. The guy from the morgue was puking his guts out in a trash can.
They gagged at the sight of the carnage. "What the fuck happened!? And why isn't Squall all right!?" Seifer demanded and the main cop looked him straight in the eye. "My name is Ed Froline by the way sonny." He said and Seifer shook him. "Don't change the fucking subject!" He yelled and Froline sighed. "Squall did this. He broke out of the Odine containment chains somehow and did all of this. The only people he didn't touch was the other patients." He informed them and Selphie sobbed. "How do you know!? He's been wrongfully accused before!" She wailed and Froline pointed to the security cameras.
"We watched the survailene tape, it was clearly shown to be him. I seen it myself and it was him. I'm positive." He said and Zell shook his head. "We want to look around ourselves. We are SeeD's." He said and Froline looked around then talked to another cop. "Okay, but don't touch anything. Here, wear these latex gloves to open doors." He said and they all put gloves on, walking around, making sure to miss the mess.
They ended up on the 6th floor, the one Squall was being held. "I guess it's happening sooner than it did in the other timeline. I hoped we would have found this out earlier." Kiros said and Quistis looked around. "Well if they would have done the routine tests, this wouldn't have happened. They just took everyone's word, even his friends." Laguna stressed, obviously picking out Quistis, Rinoa and Irvine. "Listen we are sorry! We thought he actually did it." Rinoa said and Laguna ignored her.
They came to the room Squall was in and entered. "Shit! It's the judge and the lawyers. At least I think that one is." Zell said and Laguna closed his eyes. "I still can't believe my son did this. My own flesh and blood." He said and Kiros scanned the area and Ward nodded. They left the room and went up to the roof. "Christ! There's even dead people up here!" Laguna groaned. There was at least five nurses mauled and they all jumped when they saw a shadow. "Who's there?' Irvine yelled.
"I thought it was scum!" A familiar voice met them. "Squall?" Seifer asked, trying to see and was being held back by Ward. Squall stepped out and they seen him for the first time in five years. "Squall." Seifer spoke his name again and Squall tilted his head, the silver locks swinging to the side. The black vines were gone for the time being. "Your hair is longer." Laguna said and Squall just looked at them. "Father." He finally said and Laguna smiled sadly. "Squall, I'm so sorry." Laguna said and Squall frowned, straightening his head.
Seifer broke away from Ward and went to Squall despite that he reclaimed his Gunblade. "Seifer!" Quistis yelled and Squall looked at her. "Shut the fuck up bitch! No one cares what you say!" Squall yelled and used Maelstrom on them, then kissed Seifer. He teleported away and hid from sight. After they cured themselves, they sagged at the reality. "Damn it!" Laguna yelled. Seifer touched his lips for a moment before being pulled down to the first floor. They located Froline and got his attention.
"Sir, we've seen Squall! On the roof!" Quistis said and Froline grabbed her. "What!?" Irvine nodded. "He used a Maelstrom spell and disappeared. We couldn't get him." He said and Froline ordered officers to search, then turned to them. "Okay we're checking, but I bet he's gone. For Hyne's sake he was here all this time!"
Everyone ran around, some still picking up and bagging the dead. Froline sighed. "Come with me, I think we've seen enough." He said and Laguna paused. "I want to see his records. I don't care about all the regulations bullshit." He said and Froline rubbed his mustache. "I understand. I hate all that shit myself. Now come with me."
They followed him outside to a car. "We took these before the medical people got them." Froline said and handed Laguna the files. "Lets see. It says he suffered from a whole range of disorders and crap. That's bullshit!" Laguna said and Kiros looked over his shoulder. "Man, look at all his medication. Loxapine, Molidine, Rauivolfa, Alkaloide, Risperidone, Clozapine and so on. I doubt he needed all of that! That's excessive medication." Kiros said and Froline nodded.
"They were brutal on him, can't say I blame him for killing them in a way. But that's not my job. Anyways, we've made copies so you can take these." He said and some other cops came up to him. "Sir, we didn't see anything. He's gone." The man said and Froline nodded. "I thought so. You can go." He dismissed the younger cop, who left and he turned back to them. "You guys might as well leave. You'll get a call if anything happens."
Seifer lightly touched his lips agian as they thanked him. "Seifer, are you okay?" Laguna asked, patting his shoulder. "I don't really know." He said and they piled into the van and Laguna looked at the former knight. "You can tell me Seifer." He said and Seifer sighed. "When Squall used the Maelstrom, he kissed me." He said and everyone's eyes bugged out. "I see." Laguna said and Seifer slumped. The van took off to Dr. Odine and the others.
When they arrived, they picked them up and left. Laguna used his cell phone and ordered a presidential plane to take them to Balamb. That is where they will have their meeting and figure out what to do. They eventually landed and ran quickly into the Garden, looking for Dr. Kadowaski.
