Dreams Part Two
Disclaimer: *sigh* This is getting really tiring…not to mention depressing, but again, and I suppose I must say it, I do not own FF7 or any other characters from any other FF game. Therefore I can not be held accountable for changes to their appearances or their actions^_^ enjoy
AN: You’ll find out a little more about why Cloud’s eyes are green instead of blue like we all know they should be. It’s just a little plot twist I’ve got going on so don’t flip out on me…yet. Anyway, not as much sex or implied sex in this chapter but I hope you like it anyway^_^

Dreams Part Two:
You really couldn’t tell that it was in the middle of the afternoon on a sweltering hot summer’s day. You could hear the air conditioner kick on, the air billowing out of it in a whoosh that sent the curtains fluttering. None of the apartments inhabitants really noticed the sudden drop in temperature for they were all fast asleep, curled around each other as if they themselves were the last real thing to hold onto in the world around them.
Golden hair peaked above the comforter, the splash of bright yellow a soft tone compared to the deep splash of crimson next to it. Gold mingled with crimson, the contrast a pleasant one as both warriors were sound asleep. Next to them his arms encircling them both, a silver haired warrior slept, his long tresses spilling out behind him like some wistful phantom, so soft and inviting. He did not stir as the red head whimpered in his sleep, tightening his hold on the blonde spasmodically.
He inhaled sharply, desperate for oxygen.
******dream******
He slashed outward, his hand hitting something solid in the total darkness. He could see nothing but the shadows were alive around him, pushing in on him as if he were a life line of sorts. Whispers surrounded him before he finally whirled to face his would be attacker.
Nothing but the inky blackness.
Something swept him off his feet and he hit the ground, his hands landing in something viscous and warm. He pulled his hands back to himself not sure if he really wanted to know what the liquid was. The whispers had stopped, but he reminded himself that they were probably only stalling. But for what? Would someone attack him while he was floundering around in the dark like a blind man?
He growled softly in annoyance. No, he was better than this. He had other senses, sure his ears weren’t doing him any good but he could definitely feel his way around. But the 64,000 dollar question was…did he really want to know what was waiting for him in that darkness?
His breathing picked up and the darkness began pressing in on him once more, choking he oxygen from the air around him. He sucked in air, one great lungful after another. He was panicking and he didn’t know why. Was this some game? Some test to see what would break him? Anger, hot and familiar filled him. How dare anyone test him?
He stood of his own accord and slowed his breathing. He could do this. Big, tough, ex-turk that he was. Riiiight.
He felt across his waist and around him. No weapons. But he had figured out one thing. He was without any decent clothes. Just a pair of silky boxers that felt like nothing he would ever wear.
The anger built again. Was someone trying to humiliate him like this, in the dark depriving him of almost every sense he could actually use? There was the sound of heavy, booted footfalls to his right and he spun to face the sound, hands held loosely at his sides, ready to defend himself.
He wisely kept his mouth shut and listened intently as the sounds came closer and closer, each footstep sending a jolt of electric fear through his already shocked system. They stopped just inches from him, and he could feel heat radiating off of the unseen figure. Whoever they were, they were breathing pretty heavily and the scent of mint washed over him. But that wasn’t right, there was something else under the mint, something that nothing could cover up. It smelled like blood.
He swung blind, not sure anymore if he should just be standing there like that or if he should make a run for it. What and knock himself unconscious in the process?
A gloved hand caught his fist and he let out an undignified squeak as he was jerked against a tall, lean, rock hard frame. He smelled leather and froze. A deep voice, cultured and demanding floated to his ears from the inky blackness and he recognized it immediately.
“Stop struggling Reno…my claiming of you will only make things easier. I told you I would have you both…and I meant it. You will be my pet, just like our Cloud is, my beautiful Cloud. Submit Reno and I will freely give you all that you desire…all that you could ever want…just submit.”
There was a soft cry and he could suddenly make out a figure stumbling towards them, a sword sticking from his back, the point extruding from his chest. Reno went numb as he realized with shock that it was Cloud. He stumbled to a halt in front of them, his true blue eyes glazed over. Sephiroth stepped back from the red head, his arms encircling the blonde in his embrace.
“Shhh my beautiful pet, I’ll make the hurt go away, mother won’t harm you anymore.”
Reno watched in horrific fascination as the sword was jerked from the blondes body and discarded into the inky blackness. His eyes began to dim as Sephiroth brought Cloud’s lips to his own, a fine mist trailing from his mouth to Cloud’s.
Cloud’s body convulsed and his eyes found Sephiroth’s, their color no longer true blue but an eerie glowing green. He turned those eyes to the red headed warrior standing only feet away and smiled, the expression unsure as if he was expecting instant rejection.
Reno opened his mouth to ask questions, but there were so many to ask that he couldn’t find his voice. So many questions. What was that mist? Why were Cloud’s eyes green? And was it just him or was everything becoming distant. He watched as the darkness began to lift and he thrashed finally breaking the surface into a world of brilliant light.
******end dream******
He sat straight up his chest heaving and his red hair disheveled. He looked at the two sleeping men and met mako green eyes staring at him from under a curtain of silver hair. He put on a half attempt at a smile and scooted further away from them toward the side of the bed. Not taking his eyes off the two of them he backpedaled off the bed and into the bathroom only relaxing when the door was between them. It was not a realistic comfort since both of the men in the other room could smash the door down with their pinkies, but he needed that extra barrier at the moment. He padded over to the mirror and stared into its reflection.
He noted the circles under his eyes and sighed softly, running a hand through the hair in his face. The goggles were gone which left his naturally unruly hair even worse, half covering the marks beneath each of his eyes. He stared at his own green eyes, the image of Cloud’s eerie glowing eyes came unbidden to him and made him shudder. What on earth did the dream mean? He shook his head and turned the taps on. Cold water gushed forth and he splashed the head clearing crystal clear water into his face, the icy temperature of the water drawing a sigh from him.
He put a hand on either side of the sink and stared at his dripping face in the mirror. What was he going to do? He couldn’t face the two men out there after that dream…could he? He could always ask what it meant. But would he offend his new lovers…or scare them away? As much as he wanted to he could not find it in him to take the initiative to ask either of them. For all the aloofness he showed, he was so not risking getting spitted on the Masamune or Buster Sword for bringing up a dream that probably meant nothing in the first place.
A thought came to him as he watched the water roll down his cheeks and bead in places. Why had it not occurred to him that Cloud’s eyes were green when he saw him in the small bar below the inn? He’d gazed into them enough times shouldn’t he have noticed?
A soft caress along his spine drew him out of his wonderings and he stared at the silver haired figure in the mirror. “I did not wish for you to notice his changes, pet. Your time will come, do not worry your pretty little head.”
He spun to face his would be attacker and found no one there but a towel rack and the shower. He rushed it, throwing back the curtain expecting to see the silver haired general hiding there. Instead he saw nothing. What the FUCK was going on here?
He yanked open the door to find that Sephiroth was sitting with his back to the headboard, gazing at him with intense cat like green eyes. “You are taking an awfully long time in the bathroom…is there something wrong…Reno?” There was something in the way he said his name that made him give an involuntary shiver. He shook his head a little too rapidly and slammed the door on the smiling general.
He took a deep calming breath and leaned heavily against the door. “What’s wrong pet? Can’t live with the truth? I will have you.”
He opened his eyes and a scream tripped out of his mouth as he stared into those hauntingly beautiful mako green eyes from inches away. He fumbled behind him and came spilling out of the bathroom. He turned and scrambled to the far side of the room not looking back until he had reach the wall. He spun back around to find…nothing. Not a even a shadow lay across the bathroom floor or outside its door. The other silver haired general seemed to have vanished, and the other one was sitting up in the bed looking at him quizzically.
“Reno?” It was a softer voice this time and he looked at a slightly confused Cloud. “Reno, what’s wrong, I heard you scream and then you came running out of the bathroom.”
He knew his eyes were too wide and he was going to hyperventilate if he didn’t slow down his breathing soon. He shook his head and choked back a whimper that wanted to escape as Sephiroth moved to stand up. Cloud’s hand restrained the silver haired warrior and he moved instead, crossing the space between Reno and the bed slowly.
“Reno?…What happened?”
“Se-Sephiroth…dream, eyes, green, you dead, Sephiroth, bathroom…” Was all he managed to choke out tears welling up and threatening to spill over his cheeks. No dammit, he was an ex-turk! Turk’s did not cry! They came anyway, the hot tears spilling down his cheeks. Those traitorous tears making him seem so weak. He gazed helplessly at the blonde before him, those eerily beautiful eyes watching him so intently.
“Where did the blue go Cloud?” he asked pitifully, watching the others reaction, “where did the beautiful blue of your eyes go? Why are they green…why do they look like…like…his eyes.” The tears were gone and had been replaced by anger. People tend to lash out at things they didn’t understand…our red headed friend was no different.
Cloud watched as a blush of anger spread over his lover’s cheeks, the slow build of fury making his eyes shine.
“Tell me what the fuck is going on or I walk out that door and I don’t come back, Cloud, dammit! I want to know why this is happening!”
The golden haired warrior glanced back at Sephiroth, who regarded him with blank eyes. He gave a resigned sigh and turned back to the man before him. “I guess we do have a lot of explaining to do…come sit with us?…I swear we won’t bite.”
The red head snapped his head back and forth in quick jerky movements, the instant terror in his eyes making the blonde move a step back. “Alright, alright, I won’t make you come sit with us…but don’t leave until we can explain things.”
He settled himself back onto the bed and into his lover’s waiting arms, watching the red head for signs of bolting. He was relieved to find that his moving away had calmed him to some extent.
“I guess I have to begin with--”
There was a loud banging on the door and shouts. Only one voice was heard above the rest.
“Dammit Strife! Get yer fuckin ass out here, the city is under attack and we need that ass o’ yers to help defend it! Bring yer fuck buddies with ya, it’s one helluva battle out there.”
Cloud wasted no time jumping from the bed and pulling his scattered clothes on. Sephiroth was right behind him. They paused only when they realized Reno still wasn’t moving.
“Reno? Reno come on, the city is under attack…look I’ll explain everything when we get back, I promise.”
Finally, something the red head could deal with, and not this petty emotional crap. He just glared in the two’s general direction and head for his clothes. “I’ll be there when I’m there, and no sooner, so go on without me.” he said, thoroughly hating the uneasiness that crept into his voice.
The two ex-soldiers kept silent and exited the apartment without further comments to the irritated red head.
With an annoyed huff, Reno grabbed the nearest article of clothing and pulled it on.
@*@*@*@*@*@*@*
The battle within the city walls was gruesome to say the least. Bodies of the innocent already littered the streets, beasts feasting on their prizes. It was enough to make even the stone-hearted general wince as his eyes surveyed the damage.
“So what happened here?” Cloud asked the large black man next to him. “Fuck if I know, they jus’ came outta nowhere and started attacking people. We saved the ones we could, but the rest are nothing but meat. We gotta do somethin’ about these critters crawlin around though.” His eyes fell on a giant wolf beast feasting on the carcass of an old man and he cringed.
“Systematically destroy every single one of them. It is just like war. Gather your troops, divide them into different tasks and move out.” Sephiroth spoke quietly and matter-of-factly, as if he did not see the bodies of young children being eaten piece by piece.
Barret grunted and shook his head. “Whatever you say lover boy, I jus say we go out there and kick some beasty ass before they do much more damage.”
There was a cry of approval as a large group approached them weapons in hand. Cloud’s eyes sought out the familiar splash of red but he saw none, looking down a little dejectedly.
In the crowd, however, was Yuffie, Vincent, Cid, Rufus, Tseng, Tifa, Red XIII, and Cait Sith. Each face was eager as if they had all been waiting for something to happen, something other than peace.
Vincent and Cid kept sharing looks that seemed inappropriate in a setting like this, but managed to look relaxed. Seems they finally tied the knot officially. Yippee. Cloud was surprised at his bitter thoughts towards the couple. He should be happy for them, after all, because he had Sephiroth didn’t he? But he knew that Sephiroth wasn’t the one he needed by him at the moment, it was a particular red head that seemed all too absent at the moment.
His attention was brought back to the present by a loud gasp and he turned to see Sephiroth spitting a giant beast on the Masamune, using the beasts momentum against it to drive the sword all the way through it. Blood and thicker things splattered his beautiful silver hair and he just stood there, letting the beast drop to the ground. “I believe it would be wise to get a move on if we are to accomplish anything…it would not do to have ourselves killed and eaten before we had a chance to do any good.”
No one said anything but they all silently agreed. If they were going to save Midgar, they had to act fast.

Okay, end of Fourth chapter. I know it kinda sucked cuz now Reno is upset and Cloud is sad and Sephiroth’s…well he’s Sephiroth, what can I say? Anyway, Midgar is under attack, but can you guess why? I don’t know either^_^ perhaps some ideas in some reviews, pretty please? If not then I guess I’ll just go with my original idea, but I would really like some feed back! Stay tuned for the next chapter.
