Chapter 4

Rikku sat in front of the mirror, staring at her reflection, trying to figure out who she was. I'm the daughter of the Al Bhed leader, I'm the cousin of a Summoner, a friend to some great gaurdians.. but who am I? Who knows me for me? No one, that's who. Rikku sat up, wiping away her tears. She was just so sick of living in everyone's shadow. She wanted to be noticed.. Rikku stood up. She would make a difference. "The world will remember me as Rikku! Not at the friend of someone else!" Rikku did a little jump and went to grab her things. She was ready to take on all the fiends in the world.

She made her way outside, noticing that everyone looked really sad. Of course they're sad. Yuna might get married, for all the wrong reasons! The group began to make their way to the next temple. Rikku knew she needed to talk to her cousin. She walked over to Yuna, whispering if she could have a moment to talk to her alone. Yuna nodded and the two of them walked off, away from the group.

"Rikku, I know what you're going to say. Just please don't. This is something I have to do." Rikku shook her head, "No Yuna, it isn't. Why is this so important all of a sudden? What about Tidus?" Rikku kept on ranting, not bothering to wait for a reply, "I mean, if you stop your journey, I'll be really happy. But this isn't right. This isn't how you should go about it." Rikku stopped, finally giving Yuna a chance to speak.

"Rikku, please understand. I found something, and I need to take care of it. Please trust me." Rikku shook her head, "I don't understand. Sorry." Yuna grabbed Rikku's hand and pulled her farther away from the group. "Here, watch the sphere I had found, You'll understand then."

Rikku looked at her cousin skeptically. She grabbed the sphere and activated it. She gasped when she saw what it contained. Rikku took a step back. "Seymour is a liar. I can't believe he killed his own father... Yunie, there has to be another way. We can stop him. You don't have to make him marry you. We'll find another way." Yuna shook her head, "No. I have to do this on my own. Don't worry, okay?" Rikku shook her head, "I don't like this one bit." Yuna replied, "You don't have to. Just don't tell anyone, okay?" Rikku nodded, "Of course."

The two of them returned to the group and they continued their way to Macalania Temple. Rikku shivered, "It's seriously so cold here!" Wakka rolled his eyes. Obviously he's still mad about the Al Bhed thing.. She shook her head and continued her way to the door with the group.

Rikku ran up and was about to walk in when the priest by the door pushed her back, "Her kind are not welcome in this hallowed place." Rikku was shocked, and incredibly upset. How dare he! Auron stepped forward, sticking up for Rikku, once again. "She is a guardian. She can enter." The priest shook his head. "That is preposterous. No." Auron took a step foward, "Do you like the way your face looks right now?" The priest was confused, "Yes, why?" Auron walked by, brushing past him, "Then she comes in." "Very well," he muttered.

Rikku looked at Auron. She was grateful he stood up for her again, but why? Why would he care so much? He was so confusing!

Yuna walked ahead, to go pray to the faith. Rikku was nervous, she hope Yuna knew what she was doing. Rikku was exploring when she heard a scream. Uh oh.. They ran over to where the noise had come from, only to see one of the priestess' on the ground. "The spehere.. it..." She passed out.

She knew they were in deep trouble, especially since she saw Tidus grab the sphere. They all watched it in horror. Uh oh Yunie, so much for our little secret...
