Chp 5
Chapter 5
They somehow manage to get out of the building. All three feel very confused. First Cloud was suppose to be dead, now he is alive and killing people without a second thought. After some distance, they change back to their normal clothes. Zackery gives another reported to Yuffie. Yuffie is surprised to hear Cloud is still alive and tells him talk to Vincent.
After some hard traveling, they reach a small waterfall. Chancey walks carefully behind it and disappears. Zackery and Madnol, after a moments hesitation, also follow her behind the waterfall to enter a cave. Sitting on a chair is a tall man, with black and gray hair. His red outfit covered most of his features, showing only his dull, red, glowing eyes. His left hand the only visible evidence of mutation.
Chancey, “Hello, sir. This is Zackery and Madnol.”
Vincent just nods to them.
Zackery, “We have some bad news. . . .”
Vincent, “Tell me what occurred.”
Zackery goes over the story. When he tells Vincent about Cloud’s casual killing, his eyes widen slightly.
Vincent, “So, it comes down to this.”
Madnol, “What?”
Vincent, “I was hoping to prevent this. We may have to kill Cloud.”
Zackery, “If I must, then I know I can do it.”
Madnol shrugs, “Hell, I don’t see a problem.”
Vincent points to opening that lead to another room, “Why don’t you three go in. Have something to eat and get some rest.”
They go into the small room, eat some rations, and get some rest.
Zackery wakes up after another weird dream. He walks over to the doorway to look in. He sees Vincent standing and looking at the cave entrance. That is
when Cloud walked into the cave.
Cloud, “Long time, Vincent. . . . A very long time.”
Vincent, “ What are you doing?”
Cloud, “You betrayed me. . . . ”
Vincent, “Cloud, Jenova is controlling you. I know you don’t want to do this.”
Cloud, “Buried alive for forty years. . . . unable to move. . . . in constant pain. . . you left me to suffer.”
Vincent, “I put you in stasis for your own good. I have been trying to find a cure.”
Cloud, “You failed! Goodbye Vincent. . . ”
Zackery was listening to this, unable to speak or move. The others are still asleep behind him. Both men begin to fight in the dimly lit cave. Cloud fights hard and fast using claws he formed on his hands. Vincent is forced to transform into one of his demon forms.
The noise wakes the other two, who hurry over to the doorway. Chancey immediately gets her staff out and rushes into the next room. Madnol pauses next to Zackery, trying to decide what to do himself. He then pulls Zackery into the room with him. Vincent is one of the top fighters, but Cloud has been boosted by mako treatments, energy baths, and Jenova mutations.
Cloud gets a nasty strike cross Vincent’s side. When Vincent stumbles, the other three jump into the fight. Cloud is barely sweating when they attack him. Cloud dodges both Madnol’s and Chancey’s attacks. He catches Zackery’s sword by the blade and punches him in the face. Zackery is dazed by the blow. Madnol sends his spheres flying towards Cloud’s head. Cloud raises his hand, sending the spheres flying back at Madnol. He barely dodges them. Cloud uses this time to also knock Madnol down. nceyncey goes at it, attacking him furiously with her staff. Cloud parries and dodges her attacks easily. He almost seems to be enjoying it all. He grabs her staff and smacks her in the head with it. While she is still dazed, he kisses her on the lips and leaves. Zackery is still getting back to his feet when he hears Cloud in his head again.
Cloud, ~ Join me. ~
Zackery, “No. . . Get out of my head!“
Chancey hurries over to Vincent. Vincent is in his human form again, holding his side in obvious pain. His wound severly bleeding. Zackery pulls out the potion they found earlier and uses it on Vincent. His wound heals over very quickly.
Vincent, “That is a powerful potion. One I never seen before. . . Where did you get it?”
Zackery, “We found it at Bone Village.”
Madnol walks over, “Damn that asshole!”
Vincent, “You three better go to Wutia before Cloud gets there.”
Madnol, “So, you think he will try to kill Yuffie?”
Vincent, “Try is not the word. He will kill her. Damn, my cowardice!”
Chancey, “You’re no coward!”
Vincent, “I am one, child. I could have stopped this years ago. . . I didn’t have the guts.”
He slowly gets to his feet.
Vincent, “You better hurry over there. I must go do something first, then I will meet up with you three later.”
