Chapter 5: The reason behind

Reno was resting on top of me, trying to catch his breath. I kissed him again and buttoned my pants. He sighed and closed his. "Lets go pick up Zoey." Yep, I'm dying to see if Rufus is a good babysitter. I get Reno in his seat and drive off to ShinRa's new tower. We arrived five minutes later. I parked the compagny car, If you's ask me I rather stick to motorcycles but Rufus granted me of brand new car so here I am. We got out of the car and walked up to the tower. Rufus was sitting in front his computer, rigth beside the bed where Zoey was sleeping. "So how did it go?" He asked without lifting his eyes from the screen, I scratch my forehead. "It would of been better if Aubrey would of stick around here. Tell me, how did he get the job?" If it's anything sexual I don't want to know. He licks his lips. "He asked for it and I gave him a chance to prove his... devotion." It is something sexual. And Aubrey could say whatever he wanted, I had a information to make him keep his mouth shut. "That's what I've thougth." On the corner of my eye the image on his computer screen caugth my attention. It was the security camera of some sort of lab, a masculine body lying on a bed, he closed the thing before I could look longer. "Let's take Zoey downstairs." I picked his daugther and we tooke the elevator down to our level. I nested her in her bed and see didn't even wake up.

"Rufus' sick!" I said to my lover. "I already know that babe." I was wondering how did he get in the Turks, maybe this was a good time to ask. "How did you get in his personal guard?" He looks at me, his turquoise eyes just trying to make me stop. Ohoh I've touched a hard subject. "You don't want to know, trust me." Come on honey just tell me I won't bother you after that. "I know you had trained to be SOLDIER and that you failed the test, just like I did." I reach out for his hand but he steps back. "How do you know this?" His expression changed as he found the answer his self. "He told you." I nod, I'm not going to lie and tell him Zack didn't say a word, he talked way too much in his sleep, thank you mako. "He talked in his sleep." He crossed his arms on his chest. "What do you know?" Good question. "Everything." Everything implies knowing Reno and Zack had been dating for a year. "Why did you become a Turk?" He sighs. "Because of you. Because when he saw you the first time he didn't want anything from me anymore." Is he.. mad at me? "You must hate me then." Please baby tell me you're not going to leave me. "I hated you, for a long time but I realized you didn't do anything to make him think he had a chance. And now my feelings have changed. Now you're my heart and soul and I understand why he left me." Is that a good thing? "You're so... perfect. So attractive, all my opposite." I'm really strating to think he lost all his selfestem. "I'm not perfect and I will never be. Nobody is. I don't know what happened to your self confidence and selfesteem but you're not worthless honey. You're not alone. I"m here and Zoey is too." He lifts his eyes to lock his gaze in mine. "You won't leave me?" He looks like a frigthen child. "I won't." A almost smile strecthed in his face. "I'm trully, completly, insanely in love with you Reno. Don't worry about that." He pulls me down to crush his lips against mine, when he pulls back I ask him the question that has been making her way in my mind. "Reno, do you think... never mind." Why did I stop? I was about to say it. He stops, looking curiously in my eyes. "What?" I take a deep breath. "I would like to adopt Zoey, I would like to be one of her parents." I freeze and he wraps his arms around me. "I don't mind but I think you just ask her. She's awake." I turned around, blushing. "Hey baby." She looks at me, her blue eyes locked in mine. "You love my dad?" How can a 6 years old be so calm. "Yes I do. I love him with all my heart." She seriously start to talk. "Don't hurt him then." I didn't hurt him. I think. "I won't. I promise." She shyly looks at the sheet on her bed, patting in down. "Would you like to be my second dad?" I reach out for her chin and lift her head up. "I would love to." She smiles and hugs me. I feel my heart beating as fast as if I've just ran for three hours, how can I be so happy that a little girl wants me to be a big part of her life. "I may not have the same familly as my friends but mine his great!" She says. A tear fell on my cheek. I will finally have a familly.

When I woke up Reno and zoey were both cuddled up with me. A smile ligth up my face. But then I remember the silhouette I had seen on Rufus' screen. It was familiar to me, very familiar but I couldn't put a name on it. I was still thinking about it when Reno's nose rubbed gently my shoulder. "Hey" He whispered. I turned sligthly happy to see his familiar gaze. "What are you thinking about?" He always knows when I have something on my mind. "When we picked up Zoey, Rufus was checking on a security camera, there was a man lying on a lab table. I don't know why but certain I know that silhouette." He kissed my cheek. "Well that calls for some spiying, I'll get Elena to hack the security system tonigth." Zoey moved a little bit, I looked at my watch. 9:24 am. Zoey had to be back to her grandmother's house by 10. "Hey baby you have to get up, you have to go back at your grandma's." She opens her eyes. "Can you drive me on your motorbike?" I smiled, it has been two months I didn't ride it. "Yep. Let's get dress and go eat something before leaving." She jumped out of bed and I strechted before getting up my self. Reno pulls me down. "Don't worry babe we'll find out who he his."
