Training Field
After he took off the handcuffs, Cloud told me that we were going to the Outdoor Training Field to fight with monsters. Basically, we were all scared out of our fucking minds because we had no fighting skill. Only thing is that we’re good in Gym and playing dodge ball. It depends on what type of sword they give us. During the walk, we found out a little about them. It took a while since two people constantly fainted most of the time.
As I thought, we were currently Balamb Garden but they changed the name. It’s now known as SOLEED. It’s a mixture of SOLDIER and SeeD. It a company like Shinra but they don’t have people like the Turks and they don’t drain energy from the planet. Basically opposite. The WRO are the scientist and non-assassinating Turks of SOLEED. It was build because strange things had been happening on Gaia and they want to put a stop to it. This is their idea.
Cloud was twenty-three and still working on his delivery job. He lived in SOLEED but he goes back to Seventh Heaven once in a while to see Tifa, Denzel and Marlene. Tifa’s in SOLEED too but she had to watch the children sometimes.
Zack was twenty-five, which surprised me. I swear originally he was around six years older than Cloud. He shared his apartment with the spiky blonde. He said he’s a commanding officer; just like at Shinra.
Vaan was nineteen and one of the SOLEED soldiers. So far, everyone lived in this building. I guess because all the students were gone. His other home is with Penelo and Kytes. He hardly goes to see them, seeing that Rabanastre is far south.
Zell was two years older then he was in the game, making him the same age as Vaan. He doesn’t live in the building but with his mother. Of course Kira laughed but I smack her on the head. I think it’s cute and cute is one of my four faults. He’s still a soldier.
Aerith was still older than Cloud but only by two years. She doesn’t live in SOLEED but I in a small house near it. She even had a church beside it, of course filled with flowers. She’s a soldier like Vaan.
Freya was twenty-one Burmecian. They rebuild it from what she told me. I’m glad. She had a house there but she lives in the dorms too. Just like Zack, she’s a commanding officer. Not to surprising there. She was always strong.
“C’mon! Just tell me!” Zack whined to a triumphant smiling Kira.
“Nope.”
“We told you our names!” Zell complained as the younger girl just waved him off.
“That’s your fault. Not mine.”
“Will they ever stop?” Aerith asked me as I smirked and crossed my arms over my chest.
“Highly doubt it.” I glanced over at my Blue like friend. “Kira can be persistent. Unless...” I trailed off, seeing the look Kira was giving me.
“We’re here.” Freya announced, opening a big door.
As soon as it opened completely, we all gaped at the view. It was a large field far as the eye could see. The grass was still green and flourished. I wondered if they train that hard here. I noticed something far in the background, like a cage or something but it was too far to see.
We started to walk towards the middle and there was a man standing there. He had short back hair with white highlights I guess. He wore a large red coat but his left arm was being held by it. He also wore black pants that matched his boots... Was that whiskey on his belt?
I just realized who it was...
“That’s Auron.” Aerith said, as Auron from Final Fantasy X turned to look at us. I noticed a large black box next to him. “He’s in charge of the Outdoor Training Grounds.” The ancient explained as Claire tilted her head.
“Um... what exactly are we doing?” She asked as I placed a hand on her head.
“You’re going fight monsters and defeat them. If you don’t, that means you lied to us.” Cloud spoke up after the silence which kind of surprised me. I forgot he was with us for a second. Kira and Claire looked down, ashamed of themselves as I shook my head.
“Alright,” I nodded. “I understand however we hold no weaponry.” I said as I sensed some one behind me and instantly push Claire back. It was only Auron though.
“The Headmaster said to use these.” He said, placing the black box on the floor and in an instant, Kyrie and Kira ran to open it.
There were four beautiful Katanas neatly laid in the case. They each had their own significant color; more or less represented ourselves. We all took our own colors; Green: Kyrie, Blue: Kira, Red: Claire and Violet: Myself. I swung it around a couple times and noticed how light it was. This was the first time I’ve used any type of weapon let alone held one.
Now, killing monsters...? That was another thing.
Sure, I’ve gone hunting with Kira or Kyrie but Claire? No way. She’ll cry at the sight of that. She couldn’t even handle walking Gundam Seed’s ending. The girl was practically bawling her eyes out.
“Not like our old ones, but these’ll do.” Kira smirked, taking out her katana from the hilt. Kyrie made a scowling face at the younger girl and drew hers too.
“Thank you very much.” I told Auron and bowed slight as Claire copied me. I attached the hilt near my lower back and she put hers on her side. I think Kira was doing a Vergil Sparda move because she made no movement to put it on her waist. Kyrie placed hers on her back.
“Now,” Aerith started and the four of us gaze at her. “How this goes is we sent a couple monsters in then it will go up by multiples of ten. After about fifty or so we will send in the T-Rex.”
“That’ll be your last one to fight.” Vaan grinned as we nodded towards them. “Then you’ve proven yourselves and you can leave.” We looked at each other.
“Right, we understand.” Kyrie said, smirking slightly.
“It’s right over there.” Zell pointed near the black cage. “Oh, try not to get hit by the electric field out there, okay?”
“Electric Field?” We said in unison as Zack and Aerith started to push us towards the field.
“Good Luck~!” The black haired protagonist chimed as I raised a brow. They back away and a blue electric barrier came up and the only exit was the entrance the monsters came in. Slowly, ten of them surrounded us and we gazed at each other.
We needed a plan and fast.
