Chapter Four Truth
"I never loved you."
Cloud glared up at the other man, spoon halfway to his mouth as Sephiroth said those words. The spoon returned to the bowl and he gave the other his full attention.
"You were foolish."
"Decided to enlighten me, have you?"
Sephiroth smirked and continued to eat. "Whatever Mother thinks is best."
Ah. Of course. Cloud wanted to throw the bowl at Sephiroth but refrained from doing so. He asked sarcastically. "So what was it then?"
"Convenience."
"I wouldn't have thought the great General would need something like free fucking." Cloud muttered.
He didn't want to believe it. Surely the man had loved him once- or was he just blind?
"You idolized me. It wasn't that hard." Sephiroth chuckled.
Cloud shook his head. "It still doesn't make sense."
Sephiroth stood. "I'll be leaving you today. I thought I might as well as tell you the truth."
"Leaving?"
"My point has been demonstrated." He turned away.
"Why did you kill Aeris."
He stopped. "The Ancient? Another part of my point. She held... power over you, if you will."
"Power."
Sephiroth smirked, even if Cloud couldn't see it. "I saw the way you looked at her. The way Valentine looks at you, in fact..."
He opened the door. "Perhaps you shall find me- once it is too late."
With that, he was gone, the door still open.

Vincent looked at the small building. He knew Cloud was in there, somewhere. he watched suspiciously as Sephiroth walked from the building, but the blond wasn't with him. Vincent carefully crept inside.
"Cloud...?" He asked softly.
The door was open, so he went through.
Cloud looked up in surprise, hot tears forming in his eyes. He saw Vincent in the doorway, rushing towards him.
"Vincent." He whispered.
Vincent wrapped his arms around the blond. "Cloud, it's okay."
Cloud chuckled humorlessly. "I guess he was bored."
Vincent didn't understand what Cloud meant, but he wasn't going to ask. Everyone was waiting. Vincent stepped back and looked at Cloud. He offered his hand, which Cloud took.
"We'll finish this." Vincent promised.
Cloud smiled crookedly. "He proved his point." He paused and stood. "We can think of one to prove, I'm sure."
Vincent was still baffled. He didn't let it show, and led Cloud away from the building.
A silver-haired man watched them go.

Thank fucking evil. Hated this fic. Completely and utterly. You'll notice this chapter is hurry-up-and-finish. I didn't know what to do with it. After.. how long was it? A month? Of not being able to write a chapter for this, I decided I wanted it to be a cruel version of a point being proven, a jealousy of power someone had over another. I admit, I didn't know how to put it. This what one makes after a month of not knowing what to do with something one really hates. I really didn't want to leave it unfinished...it's a mental thing.
Now to continue with ones I care for.
However, sincere apologies if you were sorely disappointed with this work- whether in a bit or in a whole.
So, review, please?
