Chapter 5: Sides
Chapter 5 - Sides
Kain yawned and groaned as he woke up. His arms and neck sore, and yet, it was a small price to pay to see Cecil sleeping peacefully, thick silver hair draped on his own chest; there was no way Kain would be able to pry his blue-gray eyes off the other man's delicate features, whose head rose with every breath he took.
How such a beautiful, feminine man was one of the most feared soldiers in Baron, he had little clue. But it had always turned him on.
Reluctantly, the dragoon pushed Cecil's body off his, and paid attention to every movement. Cecil squirmed and turned around, exposing his slender, pale back. His arms reached around the pillow beneath him and brought it closer to his body, only to squirm again and come to a complete stop. Using his right arm for support, Kain ran his free hand on the white flesh, enjoying the silk-smooth sensation under his fingers.
Cecil was his, finally. Golbez – Theodore? – could enslave the world, kill everyone, blow it all up for he cared: Kain had achieved his own goal. Nothing would separate him from Cecil anymore.
Except maybe the need to go to the bathroom, and other technicalities.
Kain got up and stretched again, then quietly walked to the master bathroom. He glanced at his waist-long blond hair in the mirror. It would take several minutes to untangle each strand, but in the end it'd be worth it. Then he'd tie it up in a loose ponytail, just the way he liked.
Now done with his hair and other morning business – what he assumed was morning – he exited the bathroom, stopping to check on Cecil. The youth was still clinging to his pillow, fast asleep. 'Cute.' Kain thought about going back in bed and have some fun while he was asleep, but the man was simply too adorable. 'If the others could hear me... 'Cecil' and 'adorable' don't usually belong in the same sentence,' he thought, trying hard to resist to the temptation of jumping back on the bed and taking him again. Maybe a walk outside the room would help...
The corridor was quiet, except for a low, annoying buzzing Kain attributed to the artificial lighting. The next room was the one he usually slept in – most of his belongings were still inside; maybe that's where Theodore had slept in. After all the time they had shared the bed, it wouldn't be so surprising.
Kain pushed the door open. As expected, Theodore was in the room, sitting calmly on the bed. The man looked huge even as he sat, impression reinforced by the sculpted body he possessed. It was something people expected of Cecil before they saw him without the massive armor he wore most of the time as a dark knight.
“Ah, good afternoon Kain. Well rested I suppose.”
Theodore's deep voice caught him by surprise, and Kain only nodded back in response.
“How is Cecil? Not too shaken I hope,” the brown-haired mage continued, leaning forward, his hungry eyes scanning the body in front of him.
Kain shrugged and crossed his arms over his chest, shifting his weight on his left leg. “It's taken a toll on him for sure, but he'll be fine. He just needs time to cope.”
“I see.” Theodore nodded back and rose his right hand in the air, signing Kain to move closer. He licked his lips in anticipation, his hand landing on the younger man's hip. The lips then darted for Kain's well-toned stomach, trailing butterfly kisses until they reached their destination. The blond man was not only easily manipulated, but easily turned on as well; a few hard sucks on his member was all it took to get him hard.
Between the dragoon and him, the lines remained clear as water – sex was sex, stress-relief, and a way to prove who was really on top. The best way, of course, and Theodore abused it. He loved being in control. It had been better at first, when Kain was uneasy with the idea if having sex with someone he barely knew, even less submitting to him. Eventually Kain had came to enjoy it, while Theodore found it too easy. Even if he had Cecil now... the dragoon was still a good choice for a quick fuck.
Theodore lifted a hand in the air; Kain knew exactly what to do. The youth's warm mouth covered his fingers. He felt the man's wet tongue on the digits, eagerly sucking on them. Once he was sure they were damp enough, Theodore withdrew the fingers and moved them over his partner's backside, inserting two right away. He adored the way Kain stiffened and grunted under the touch, a mix between pain and pleasure.
Preparations came to an abrupt end a short time after having added a third finger in. Theodore gently pushed the blond man away and stood up. “Get on the bed, on all fours,” he ordered, a smirk forming on his face. Oh how he loved being in control...!
Kain obeyed right away, spreading his legs to give Theodore better access. The mattress moved as the older man climbed on it and positioned himself behind Kain, stroking his own erection. Theodore didn't wait a long time before slowly pushing in, and even less before picking up a quick pace. After all, the blond man was used to his rough ways, and proved it by moaning in pleasure.
Theodore's large hands began moving up and down the hips in front of him, savoring the tanned flesh and the muscles underneath. Kain drove him to the edge every single time; the younger man was slender, but nowhere near as frail-looking as Cecil. Not that it stopped Theodore from being rough – even violent – with his brother.
~
Cecil's eyelids fluttered open as he let a satisfied groan out, once again being thankful of being in a real bedroom. The dimmed lights made his awakening much more pleasant.
Pleasant. Cecil never thought he'd use that word inside the Tower of Babil.
The paladin noticed he was alone when he turned around, with the hope of snuggling for a short while before feeling the need to get up. Instead of wondering to why Kain had left him alone, he sprawled on the bed to stretch lazily... and eventually needed to get up.
If this had been a normal day in Baron, he'd go grab breakfast at the refectory and head to the training grounds. But this was not Baron, and without his daily routine, Cecil was getting quite bored. The next best thing was to explore the living quarters of the giant tower.
Cecil shivered as his feet hit the cold floor, suddenly wanting to go back to bed and wait for Kain to join him. The urge only lasted a split second before his curious instincts kicked in, and he walked to the door. To his surprise, it was unlocked; not that he could escape for that matter. Maybe Theodore trusted him enough, or Kain forgot to lock it after he left?
Since Cecil Harvey was a man known to take the advantages offered to him, he would certainly not pass this one up.
He closed the doors behind him and ventured in the hallway, looking left and right to make sure nothing was out to get him. Most of the doors were locked – Cecil could tell, as the lights above them were not lit – and the ones who weren't were empty of life.
One room, however, caught his attention. He was sure he could hear noises coming from behind the metal door. Lady Luck was smiling at him: it was unlocked. Curiosity got the best out of him again, and he slid the door open.
The room looked like any other bedroom around. What made this special, however, was who was in the room and what they were doing.
Theodore had Kain bent over on the bed and roughly rocked his hips into the other man, grunting loudly.
~
Cecil stood in the doorframe, eyebrows quirked. He didn't feel jealous at all – why would he when even his own brother wanted to have sex with him? In fact he was mesmerized by the sight of his lover being taken in front of his eyes in such a savage way. An amused grin appeared on his face as he leaned on the metallic frame, quietly enjoying the wild show.
Who ever thought Kain Highwind would submit to someone else, and enjoy it?
The silver-haired man's presence went unnoticed until Theodore's body tensed up, then shook slightly as he moaned. Kain reacted the same way shortly after and collapsed to the mattress, exhausted.
“Good afternoon, brother. I didn't think you'd wake so soon.” Theodore chuckled softly and withdrew from Kain's body, his purple eyes now scanning Cecil from head to toe. “Too bad you're coming in a bit late – I'm sure you'd have enjoyed the whole show.”
Cecil nodded. In all honesty, he'd have loved seeing it all. A few more minutes and he would have been hard as rock. He watched as his brother got off the bed and into the adjacent bathroom to clean himself, but the sound of footsteps stopped him.
“Master, I've brought another.” The deep, cavernous voice belonged to Rubicante, voice which Cecil knew didn't mean good news. Considering the previous time the Archfiend of Fire had come around, it was to bring Rydia to be killed...
So who would it be, this time?
Theodore acknowledged the red-cloaked man by nodding and entered the bathroom, exiting it almost right away. “Shall we see what Rubicante has brought us?” he inquired, raising his eyebrows.
Kain finally turned around on the bed, shaking his head quickly in the process as if to snap out of a dream. He sat up and rearranged his ponytail before getting to his feet, grabbing Cecil by the arm and dragging him into the other room.
Cecil knew he should have protested, tried to get away from the older man's grip, but he didn't. He followed Kain in the room and watched as he dressed back in his dragoon armor. He searched for his own clothes within the drawers, but everything looked too big for him. The closest pieces he found to his size were still a bit too large, and the pants kept sliding off his hips. 'This is going to be a long walk...'
~
And it was.
Used to long treks through rough terrain, Cecil wouldn't have seen it as horrible. But he was barefoot still, his clothes were a bit too large for him – he had spent most of his time putting his pants back in place – and he was anxious as to what he'd find there. Who had Rubicante brought over?
The Archfiend of Fire stood up in the middle of the room, arms powerfully locked around a muscled frame. He had gotten a hold of Yang, this time.
Yang kept thrashing despite the grip on his upper body. His blond hair, normally tied in a neat braid, was messy and bloody, and so was his naked torso. The knees of his red pants were tattered and torn, and Cecil noticed his feet were chained together. His forearms had disappeared behind his back, tied up. He had to admit, Rubicante knew his enemies well... and how he managed to overpower Yang was beyond his comprehension. Yang was the strongest man he knew.
“Cecil!” The monk yelled, relieved to see his friend was seemingly unharmed. “Thank heavens you're safe, Rosa is worried sick about you and Kain.”
“And now that you've disappeared, she's alone,” Cecil continued, shaking his head. Rosa was an intelligent woman, she would survive. As long as Rubicante wouldn't go back for her. However, for Yang, it was all over. With a sigh, the paladin looked away. “You're going to die, Yang.”
A look of disbelief spread across the monk's face. He couldn't die. Not here. He had Rosa to take care of until Cecil came back... “How do you know that?” Yang inquired, his blue-green eyes set on the smaller man, a few feet away from him. “How?!”
Theodore, who had been looking at the scene from the door, walked to his brother and ran his hand in the silver hair, in a caring fashion. The hand made its way to his shoulder, beneath the thin fabric, revealing Cecil's pale upper chest. “Tell him, brother. Tell him what's coming to him.”
Brother? Golbez was Cecil's brother?
Still unable to look at his friend, Cecil replied with a strained voice. “He killed Rydia. And he's going to kill you too. I'm sorry... there's nothing I can do.” He let his head rest on the dark armor behind him. The hand on his shoulder went to his neck before Theodore moved away.
It was Kain who replaced the massive frame behind Cecil, bending his head to deliver a quick kiss on his cheek, his eyes never leaving the captive man suspiciously, as if Yang would steal Cecil away from him. He wrapped his arms around the youth into a firm hug, making sure he wouldn't prevent Theodore from killing Yang.
“Tell him to stop this! If you're his brother you can convince him! Cecil...!”
Cecil turned his head towards the monk, trying to stop his voice from quivering. “I... I can't. I'm sorry.”
Yang's blue-green eyes widened. Was he dreaming? Did Cecil join the enemy side? 'Impossible. Cecil would never do such a thing. Not after all he's seen from our side.'
“In the end it's better for you, Yang. I'm sorry,” the silver-haired man repeated.
Theodore walked to Rubicante, taking his place behind Yang. “So, Cecil. How should I take care of your friend?”
The silver-haired man shook his head. As long as it was done quickly, he didn't care anymore. “Whatever. Just... just finish it up.” Cecil waved dismissively in the air, then turned around to face Kain, feeling like burying his head in his lover's shoulders. But something prevented him to do so, and he turned his head just so he could watch the scene behind him from the corner of the eye.
A few meters away, Theodore had his large gloved hands around Yang's neck, pressing on his throat. The blond monk thrashed, but Theodore was clearly stronger. Slowly but surely, Yang's body became limp. His head fell as he fought against death itself, refusing to give up. He always thought he'd die fighting – or at least being useful. Not tired up and choked by his friend's brother.
Yang's eyes closed as he passed out. Theodore did not release his grip on the muscled throat, and only did so once he felt no pulse. The body fell to the ground. At least this had been less messy than death by decapitation...
Cecil sighed. He never wished for this to happen by teaming up with his brother. He thought his other friends would be left alone until Theodore had his hands on all the crystals. Now there was Rosa left, and he hoped he wouldn't see her die in such a way.
“Let's get you some food, Cecil.” Kain lifted his friend's chin up in order to kiss him softly, his left hand tucking Cecil's silver hair behind his ears. They shared another quick kiss before Kain removed his arms off the paladin's frame, and exited the room first.
Cecil shot one last glance a the body on the ground, sighing again. Was he doing the right thing?
~
Kain and Cecil sat at the wooden table, eyeing plates and plates of sushi. As much as he hated to admit it, Cecil thought his brother was a rather good host... if you were on his side.
“I hope we won't have to eat with chopsticks,” Kain noted as he rolled his eyes. Military training had taught them many things, but eating with foreign utensils had never been in it.
Cecil, on the other hand, didn't seem to mind it too much. He picked the chopsticks up and within no time, was using them correctly. “It's easier than it looks. Is it the first time he serves these?” He dunked one into the small soy sauce bowl in front of him and brought the piece to his mouth, eating it in one bite.
The dragoon nodded. During the time he had been in Theodore's presence, he had seen many things on the menu, but sushi was a first. Kain tilted his head and observed as Cecil bit his next piece, once again mesmerized by his looks. It seemed that no matter what the paladin did, he did with a certain finesse and innocence, adding to his youthful, feminine charm.
“Want me to show you?” Cecil asked after swallowing the last bite, bringing his chopsticks down.
“Let me try first.” Kain picked up the utensils, trying to pick them up like Cecil. It was harder for him given he was left-handed while Cecil was right-handed, and learning by watching wasn't exactly easy. He watched as the silver-haired man got up from his chair and walked in his direction, grinning childishly. “What kind of idea have you come up with, Cecil...”
Cecil stopped right beside Kain, requesting access to his chair. The blond shook his head and backed the chair a bit, allowing the younger man to straddle his lap. Now Kain was sure he'd need sexual relief after this lesson. Cecil's soft yet powerful hands grabbed his and attempted to position the fingers correctly for chopstick usage. “See, it's not so hard. Try it out.”
With a light scoff, Kain decided to give it another try. The first one wasn't successful, but he eventually managed to pick a piece of sushi up and bring it to his lips, even with Cecil's light frame partially blocking his view of the food right in front of him.
The childish grin came back on the silver-haired paladin's face. “Are you getting hard?”
Kain swallowed hard; Cecil was teasing him and he wasn't used to this either. Until now, his lover had barely even mentioned sex. “No but I will if you keep this up. Eat and we'll see what we can do after.”
Aware of the effect he produced on the dragoon, Cecil got up, walked to his seat, took the chopsticks and came back to Kain, this time sitting on the other's lap normally. Out of everything he needed right now – food, water and intimacy – the latter seemed to be the most important.
“By the way, you're right about the chopsticks,” Kain mentioned, finally able to use them. “It's easy.” As a small thankful gesture, he kissed the base of Cecil's neck, making the other man quiver under his touch.
~ To be continued... ~
Author's Notes: Needed a touch of fluff XD. The last scene was actually a plot bunny I've had in mind for a month or so now, and I decided at the very last minute to add it to this fic, since I can't seem to write if I have too many plot bunnies XD;. Which is why this chapter has taken a lot of time for me to write.
