Chapter 50

'HOST?' Chaos attempted to focus on the human's spirit but found it indistinct, flickering wildly. There was a sense of confusion that was currently clouding the host’s thinking, broken words and phrases were floating around, the human murmuring incoherent nonsense.

'HUMAN! ANSWER ME!'

"Human? Yes, we...I am human. I am...who are we? Who am I?"

Chaos gave a low growl of frustration. 'YOU ARE A MORTAL TOO STUBBORN FOR HIS OWN DAMNED GOOD, THAT'S WHO YOU ARE. NOW TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED!'

"Chaos? Yes...Chaos...demon...trapped within. Hated us...then helped us...helped me."

The demon paused, truly taking in the words spoken so brokenly. 'HOST, REVEAL YOURSELF. FOCUS.'

There was a shift in the vague confusion and a flickering form came into view. Chaos gritted his teeth as he saw the human's form change, Vincent one moment, Sin the next. 'I'LL BE BLESSED IF YOU THINK I'LL LET YOU HAVE HIM, SLAVE!'

Dark crimson eyes opened, the wavering form settling for a moment, the human and winged slave standing side by side, "Do not interfere with what you do not understand, demon. We...I will be human once more. I will stand at Master's side, even if only as a part of this man. Leave us!"

The slave forcefully pushed him away, shutting himself and Vincent behind a barrier once more., "Huma...Vincent, we must finish soon. The demon will try again. You must relax and accept what comes, it will all sort out in time. Do not fight it or confusion will set in again."

The gunman gave a slow nod, his mind still reeling from the last attempt. It had been almost painful, he had seen from his own eyes and Sin's at the same time, felt his own thoughts and the slave's. As he forced himself to relax, Vincent opened his eyes to meet with the dark gaze. Sin gave a sigh, "Before we finish this, I have two requests. I wish to ask them aloud rather than have you learn them through my memories."

"I will do what I can."

"We...I wish to see Master with my own eyes one more time after he has awoken. After that, we will become fully a part of you once again."

"And the other?"

A chilling fanged grin spread over the slaves features, "I saw the demon's thoughts while he was here. The false Master still lives but is in pain. I wish to be allowed to add to it through you."

Vincent blinked in confusion, "Through me?"

"The half-breed holds a tie to you, one that is corrupted by madness. Your presence in his suffering alone would cause him pain. I merely wish to help you release the darkness that is in every human being so that perhaps you are given some measure of retribution as well."

Vincent was unsure of what Sin was asking of him but he nodded anyway. As dark eyes slid shut, a single final whisper left the slave, "Our Master will be safe now."

Golden eyes blinked as he felt a wave of dizziness, "Damn cocky slave, I'll show him-" Chaos reeled momentarily, a fresh wave of nightmarish pain echoing through Yazoo's bond. As the feeling settled, the demon opened his eyes to find bright worried blue, "Do you have any idea how frustrating this is? I really need to kill something, plain and simple." Cloud took a cautious step back, causing the winged creature to chuckle, "Not you, moron. Though I will admit a part of me is curious as to how your flesh tastes, the way the slave carried on about it."

The swordsman's left arm trembled slightly, "You know, there are some things I really don't want to know."

"Ah, but that is half the fun. And you don't know what you're missing, human flesh is so sweet." As the blond made a grimace of disgust, Chaos shook his head, "Suit yourself. Are you able to travel back now, manling?"

"The normal way or your way?" Cloud asked with a small amount of nervousness.

The demon thought about forcing the human to walk the shadows again but decided against it. It would be far more amusing to see how he would handle the climb up the tunnels, "We'll take your way."

When the human breathed a sigh of relief, Chaos grinned. 'MORON.'

His head was swimming in a sea of confusion and pain. Where was he? He tried to remember, looking around for anything recognizable. A mess of spiky blond hair grabbed his attention. 'Cloud!' Scarlet eyes blinked in confusion. 'Why is he climbing a rock wall in the dark?'

'Mental note: When you think a demon is going easy on you, don't believe it.' Cloud grumbled internally as he attempted to adjust his hold on the slick stone wall. His Mako-enhanced body could easily handle the climb, but the time it took to find safe hand and footholds in the pitch black tunnel made it tedious and frustrating. He glanced up to find golden eyes looking down from the top of the wall he was climbing, the glowing orbs dancing with amusement, "Having fun, manling?"

"You know, this would go a lot faster if you would give me some light or something!"

The demon's laughter echoed off the walls, "And where would be the fun in that?"

'Chaos?'

Golden eyes flashed in surprise. 'HOST?! WHERE'S THE SLAVE?'

'A part of us now.' The gunman thought, a strange mix of relief and sadness breaking through him.

'US, HOST?'

Vincent shook his head, as though to clear it. 'He warned that there might be some temporary side effects.' Scarlet eyes focused on the blond below them. 'What's going on?'

'I GOT BORED AND DECIDED TO HAVE A LITTLE FUN WITH ONE OF YOUR COMPANIONS. THE MORON IS QUITE AMUSING FOR A HUMAN.'

'Yes, but why is he climbing a wall? What is he even doing here?'

'IT WOULD BE EASIER IF I SHOWED YOU, HOST.'

'No, don't. Our head is hurting enough as it is. I don't know if we could handle a memory sharing.'

Chaos smirked. 'YOU DID IT AGAIN.'

Vincent blinked in confusion, then frowned when he realized what he had said. 'I guess it will take a while to drop his mannerisms. As long as I don't start calling Yazoo Master, we'll be fine.'

'WHO KNOWS, HOST, THE SHINGA-CHI MIGHT LIKE THAT.' The demon shook his head before casting another glance at the cursing swordsman. 'SO HOW DO YOU WANT TO PROCEED?'

'Tell me what's going on, then we'll go from there.'

After several agonizing moments, Cloud finally reached the top of the wall, only to find a metal-clawed hand reaching out to offer him assistance up, "Oh now you want to help me, you demonic-" Blue eyes widened and he nearly lost his grip when he saw amused scarlet and amber orbs looking back at him, "Vincent?!"

"My apologies on my tardiness. I had to take care of a few things. Would you like some assistance?"

The blond grinned as he grabbed the hand and felt himself easily pulled up. As his feet hit solid ground, he reached an arm around the gunner's shoulders, "I could have used some assistance a few hours ago, but like you said, you were busy. Glad to have you back now though, you had everyone worried."

A ghost of a smirk appeared on the gunman's face, "Then we suppose we shall have to apologize to everyone then."

Cloud froze, an eyebrow raising, "Vincent?"

Vincent sighed as he rubbed at his forehead, "Don't worry about it, Cloud. It will pass." The swordsman appeared unconvinced and he really couldn't blame the man after all that had happened, "Sin allowed himself to be absorbed into me. In the end, I think it was the only real possibility. With the collar destroyed, who knows what he would have done if he got out. I...seem to have picked up some of his ways of speaking."

Cloud relaxed and nodded as they began to walk. The silence stretched for several moments before he finally felt he had to ask, "Vincent? About Sephiroth..."

"It will be taken care of, Cloud, make no mistake about that." The bright scarlet orb shifted, turning an all-too familiar dark crimson and black, "We will ensure it."

The blond blinked at the cold tone in the gunman's voice but made no other comment. A red glow began to light their steps and they could soon hear the muffled breathing coming from the small dark cavern where Sephiroth was being held. Vincent faced the entrance, his eyes shadowed by thick black hair, "This is where we part, Cloud. Go stay with Nanaki. I will return when this is finished."

"No." Scarlet eyes turned to glare at the swordsman but Cloud simply shook his head and crossed his arms, "I'm not leaving you alone to face him Vincent."

“Strife, you have no place in this. This is our…my business and I…we want you leave. Leave before we MAKE you.”

Still, Cloud stood his ground, trying his best to ignore the uneasiness curling into his stomach and glared right back at the gunslinger, “Look Vincent, I’m not leaving you to deal with this…him by yourself! I’m not letting him get you again because of his damn mind games!”

Scarlet orbs flashed, a small snarl leaving Vincent’s mouth, “Cloud…”

”I promised the others that we would find you and I’m planning on bringing you back with me! So you’re not staying here alone!”

The gunner’s face darkened, eye color shifting once again to dark crimson and black, "Ah, but you forget, we are never truly alone." The smirk that slowly formed across Vincent’s face caused Cloud to noticeably shudder as the uneasiness grew. “Now, if you would LEAVE, we will not have to forcefully drag your foolish blond ass out of here myself.”

Nervously, Cloud shifted from one foot to the other, “No…”

Vincent growled, fist clenching at his side, “You stubborn moron! Fine! Stay if you wish. I will not be held responsible for anything that might befall you, remember that.”

Mako-enhanced blue orbs widened as Vincent continued forwards. Gathering his wits, Cloud followed.

Jade orbs raised as the men entered the cavern, wary curiosity lighting their depths as he studied Vincent. There was no pity or guilt in the returned scarlet gaze, in fact, it was impossible to read his thoughts at all. A strange smirk grew and the gunner tilted his head playfully, "Good evening General. I trust accommodations have been to your liking?"

Sephiroth gave a muffled growl behind the black leather in his mouth and the chilling smirk only grew, "Oh, is that so? Well I suppose as your host, I really should see about making you more comfortable, shouldn't I? After all," Vincent leaned in close, making sure he had the silver-haired man's full attention as his eyes flickered darkly, "You did everything to make our Master and us feel right at home, didn't you?"

There's always that one character that is maddening difficult to work with, I feel your pain there. A nice chapter, I do so enjoy how you can portray Sin's mental state, very nice!
Frizz: Thank you. Sapph was the main person playing Sin in that conversation. She and I RPed it so that it would come out more natural. So many many kudos to her.

I like the way you figured out Sin's fate... it's nice he's got a chance to be human. Still sticking around!

THE WAR OF SAPPHIREDOG AND MR. COCKY CONTINUES...

MR COCKY
*roaring with laughter, MR COCKY casts regen at sapphire which bounces off her reflect and restores full health and fur to robo ponies* "I love it when a mess comes together." *Casts reflect shell and protect which bounce to robo ponies, robo kitties, and marshmallow snake. then casts dispel on sapph again. calming down MR COCKY says* "while technically Asota has reflect, shell and protect on her right now, I would advise you not casting fire at my snake for the sake of Asota's dignity. The snake is an extension of my consciousness and I am a perv. The snake might get creative in hiding. But since I am not done," *Casts mini-toad and confuse, then pulls out and activates Choco/Mog materia. A large shadow is scene over the small sapphire toad as an insanely obese Chocobo falls from the sky toward her.*

*-Twitches in annoyance- Cast haste and dashes out of the way at the last second, nearly being crushed. Takes a hard hit from being confused and lands on stomach, limbs splayed out. Confuse ends from the knock to the head. With a crocked grunt, rises back to feet…erm…webbed things’, glaring at Mr. Cocky as eyes glowing blue. Disappears in a whoosh and pop, reappearing as normal behind ASOTA, tearing the snake from around her and casting dispel on both. The snake hisses and snaps as a fire spell wraps around the marshmallow fiend, starting to melt the now defenseless thing* you may have a few tricks up your sleeve dear Mr. Cocky. *Palms summoning orbs, picking out a dark red ball* But I have some too. *A smirk covers lip as wind whips around as the sound of bats fills the air, forming sphere above battlefield. Quickly, grabs onto ASOTA and pushes her off the field and off to the side. Diablos ascends from the liquid orb, majestic wings tucked neatly around his body before he snaps them out, raising his hand to gather energy before grasping the liquid sphere, and hurling it towards the robotic army. It smashes into them, creating a dark vortex while it crushes the ground and drains half of the army of their HP, KILLING most of them and weakening the rest. Dispels all spells cast of opposing side. Diablos hovers at side with a grin* -crosses arms with a pissed of look before throwing out a Bio on 2 ponies and knocks them out, leaving 1 and 3 kitties.


MR COCKY
*silently tugging leash* "Hmmm still alive on the other end" *pokes Frizzys boob* "still not responding yet" * MR COCKY turns to see little girl still trying to fight. from the mist a large black cat walks on his hind legs holding two fish shaped long daggers growling* "meet Psycho Kitty he always enjoys a good saluter" *Psycho hisses and leaps and, with a fury of cuts, rends diablo into little pieces and with a giggle MR COCKY cast stop silence and confuse on sapphire followed by phoenix downs for the fallen army and curaga to restore their health. the now bored Psycho flips sapphire the middle claw and leaves with a smile. MR COCKY pulls out summon materia knights of the round and they appear montey style singing and dancing each of them slap sapphire on her tushie hard* "Do you like that sweet little girl? you wont be sitting for a while."

Part One-

*Fights against stop, muscle jumping as I reach to grab a Echo Screen to get voice back.* FRIZZY!!! I AM IN NEED OF HEAVIER ARTILLERY! I NEED A BETTER MATERIA!! *Wobbles when a small orbs is tossed to me, missing and getting a knock to the head, once again dispelling Confuse. I grin at the amber orb, eyes glowing once again as I dash forward, flash stepping (it is a move, dare you to say other wise XD ) around the mechanical army. Reappears at Mr. Cocky’s side with my back to the army, hand on hip as I tossed the ball up and down in my palm.* Hmm..My my, what an interesting position…Its always interesting to see what it looks like from the other side of the field, no? *Darts hand out to snatch to Steal your storage of Phoenix downs, and only stealing a few potions (because I’m not a complete bitch regardless of my name C: ). Ducks when a arm swings out to grab the missing items, grinning when you miss.* -Snicker- Its not that easy Meow-Boy. *Pushed a little energy into ‘Materia’ ball* Ohhh Sinnnnn! *Before leaving, cast a fire spell on Mr. Cocky’s ‘Tushie’. Disappears in another flash, dashing around a robo kitty when it tried to attack. On my side (more like small circle now…) of the field, a winged figure is waiting on a knee, dark crimson black eyes glaring as I grinned even more, downing one of the stolen potions and finding a Ether buried in the sachet I stole.* Hey Fur ball!-resists the strong urge to glomp the creature-

Part Two-

”Where is our Master, human? Why were we called here?”
-Snickers- Master is on the sidelines, my friend. Frizzy gave me permission to play with you so I can kick Mr. Cocky’s ass.
*The creature looks confused* “And what of our bracer?”
Frizzy’s got it! Don’t worry! I just didn’t wanna use it against you. So, you gonna help me??? Don’t make me get on my knees and beg.
*Sin looks alarmed*
Don’t worry! Your Master is letting you! Do I have to speak like you make you understand or something? Cause it really fucks with my head…
*The demon stands and cracks his claws together with a slight grin* “As our Master’s fellow slave wishes it, we will obey. If only for our Master.”

*I squeal loudly as I give in and attack the poor creature in a hug* Wheee!! Alright! Now for the fun to begin! AND MR.COCKY YOU CAN’T JUST SIMPLY KILL SIN LIKE YOU DID DIABLOS!! REMEMBER!! SIN IS SPECIAL!! And hopefully Frizzy with make sure this fight stays fair, right???? (pleaseeee! I play nice!) *Pulls pistol back out checking clip and materia. Throws out Bio on the R.Kitties and tells Sin to destroy the Robo ponies, running forwards into all the R.Kitties, shooting at the mechanical eyes. Sin leaps forward, taking flight and diving down in the horses, sadistic grin on deathly pale features as his claws tear into metal*


MR COCKY
*With the greatest ease, Sin's claws tear two of the robo ponies in half, then decapitates another two. Turning to face yet another pony, which is currently on its back, Mr Cocky casts Illusion on it to appear as Frizzy with multiple mortal wounds. The illusion sputters* "What have you done Sin?" *Mr Cocky then casts illusion on two Knights of the Round, of Vincent and Yazoo. Yazoo says* "A monster that destroys its master should destroy itself."

*In a hazy moment of confusion, Sin turns his claws at his heart. But before his claws can strike, they are blocked by a fish-shaped knife. Mr Cocky pulls out pen and paper, writing a fast note, then casts teleport to bring in a catapult while the black cat, Psycho, administers a beating with the flat of his blades, leaving deep bruises and cracked ribs. With a golf swing, he launches Sin onto the catapult. Mr Cocky pins the note on the back of Sin's head while Sin stares wide-eyed at an unharmed Frizzy. Mr Cocky pulls the lever, launching Sin into the air. Psycho casts dispel, then silence and confusion on Sapphire while Mr Cocky pulls out a computer and quickly calculates where Sin will land and shouts* "Oh Shit! Thats the Electric Haven!" *With a grin, Mr Cocky casts three illusions where Sin will land.* "That will keep the slave busy for a while. When Vincent finds out that he has been changed to appear as Hojo, he will be royally pissed. Oh well, I have pissed him off before, I will survive." *He snickered as he saw Sin crash onto Vincent's head* "Wonder what his reaction to the note will be."

*With the flat of his blade, Psycho golf swings Sapphire's tushie, landing her in the catapult. Mr Cocky turns the catapult but before he pulls the lever, he takes the summoning materia, pokes her in the boob, and blows her a kiss before sending her in the opposite direction of Electric Haven* "Time for more reinforcements." Looking to the real Frizzy, "I don't think Sin was very helpful. Still I have to wait for the next delivery of phoenix downs."

*Ten furry snake-like creatures arrive pushing colorful balls. One by one Mr Cocky opens the balls and retrieves the items. "Your late but your timing is good." *Mr Cocky replenishes his phoenix downs and other assorted goodies.* "Now someone has been left out of this." Confused, nine of the creatures swarm Brieness, circling her body and starting a tickling frenzy. The tenth one flies onto Asota's head, makes a nest and takes a nap. Mr Cocky says* "Oops, hey Asota! at least I didnt toss you around like Sapph did."
