Dragons and Peeping Toms

“Sir Fratley, are you not amazed?” Lady Freya Crescent said quietly as she and her husband strolled the gardens of Alexandria Castle. As a Dragon Knight of Bermecia Kingdom, Freya deeply loved the sweet smell of flowers in the springtime.
“Yes, my dear Freya… nature is particularly lovely this year.” Fratley, also a fellow Dragon Knight, answered as he lightly reached out and plucked a spear-shaped white blossom and presented it to her.
Freya took it, blushing and fitted it to the edge of her red cloak, “Thank you, my love,” she said, gazing into his deep, sapphire eyes. Just then, a voice from the other side of the garden startled them.
“Freya… its been a while…”
Freya turned abruptly to see who had addressed her. She knew the voice almost immediately, “Amarant Coral, it has been a while.”
A tall, fiery red haired man stepped out from behind a cherry blossom and stood watching the pair. “You haven’t changed,” Amarant said, walking forward.
“Do tell me Amarant, were you spying?” Freya asked him quietly.
“No, I was sent here to get you. Just didn’t want to… spoil the moment. You’re wanted up in the Queen’s chambers.” He retorted, leaning up against the garden wall.
“For what reason?” Fratley asked pointedly.
“To make a long story short, why don’t you just go see for yourself,” Amarant said, making it clear that he did not know the details. He turned, flashing one of his extraordinarily rare smiles, walked across the garden and entered the castle.
“I wonder what it could be?” Freya looked at Fratley.
“I do not know Freya, but we should go.” Fratley took her hand.
“You are right, let us go then,” Freya turned and, with Fratley by her side, climbed the garden stairs and proceeded to the royal chambers.
