Chapter 6
Seifer made a scoffing sound as he looked at her, "No Quistis, you haven't lost your mind. I'm really here! I know it's a lot to take in but, I REALLY am here. I don't know for how long or exactly what the future holds but, RIGHT NOW, I'm here. As real as you or anyone else." He smiled, "Don't take my word for it Babe, c'mon!" He took her hand and dragged her into Garden and headed for Squall's Office. "As good a person to start with as any I guess!"
Of course, as was usual in Seifer's life, or un-life, or whatever, his plans did not follow through the way that he had hoped. Before they managed to reach Squall's office, he found himself being glomped by a fluffy ball of sunshine...
"Hi Selphie!" Quistis grinned as Seifer was thrown to the floor by the force of the impact. "OMG! SEIFER! YOU'RE HERE!!! YOU'RE NOT DEAD!!!! YOU'RE ALIVE!!! OMG!!!! THIS IS SOOO COOL!! WAIT TILL EVERYONE SEES YOU AGAIN! YAY!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT YOU SURVIVED THAT BOMB! IT'S AMAZING"
Seifer laughed and gently pushed her off him so that he could stand. When they were both on their feet again, he hugged her. "I missed you too, Squirt! It's good to see you!" He ruffled her hair. "We have to go up to see Squall right now but do you wanna meet us at lunch?" She nodded, "tee hee, yeah! Okay, see you then!" She sped off and Seifer smiled, "See? You AREN'T insane, Instructor!"
Quistis nodded, "Fine. Just one question though, how exactly were you able to read my mind?"
Seifer grinned over at Quistis. "I wondered when you would remember about that!" She glared at him, "It's not funny, Seifer! Are you reading my mind, even now? As we speak?"
He sobered up then, "No, it's not like that, Quistis. Look, we share a bond now, okay? You INVITED me back to this realm. That invitation now makes us closer than we were before, okay...." Quistis interrupted him "yeah, so close that you can read my mind!"
He sighed, "Quistis, please just listen to me, okay?" She shut up. "Alright. Yes, I read your mind but I can't do it all the time. It's only when your emotions are running high that I am able to do it. Also it's not so much that I read your mind. It's more a case that you send your thoughts to me!!"
He let her think on that for a moment. "It's really not that bad, Quis. Besides, the rule applies both ways. You can hear my thoughts too! Does that make you feel better?" She smiled at him and took his hand. "Yes, yes it does. C'mon, let's go see Squall!"
