Chapter 7
Squall wakes up on a cot. Next to him is Yuffie. He realized they were back on Ragnarok. Zell was on a cot next to him, still out cold.
Squall, “Where is Vincent and Cid?”
Yuffie, “Vincent is in the next room resting. Cid is missing.”
Squall, “How did you get us back?”
Yuffie, “I found you hurt. Lucky for you I kept my healing materia. Vincent woke up and was strong enough to help me get you two back here. You and Zell were hurt the worst.”
Zell wakes up, “Man, I hurt all over. . . “
Squall, “I need to get us back to Balamb Garden.”
They return to Balamb Garden and the doctor looks over their wounds just to be sure. Meanwhile, Yuffie’s materia was examined. The three are released, seeing their injures were healed. Kramer meets them in the infirmary.
Kramer, “I am glad no one was killed”
Squall, “Seifer is working for someone. He also supplied Cloud with a new Guardian force.”
Kramer, “Please describe this new guardian to me.”
Squall described the fight. Then something on Vincent began to beep. He brought out something that looked like a phone, but with no cords.
Vincent, “Hello?”
He covers the end of the phone and looks at the headmaster.
Vincent, “Two more of our friends are here in a place called Winhil.”
Kramer, “You can go meet them there, maybe easier if you take Ragnarok again.”
Vincent talks back into the phone, “We’ll meet you there....”
They send Vincent and Yuffie to the ship. After a brief moment, Squall and Zell join them. They fly Ragk ovk over to Winhil. There they meet Tifa and Barret. Tifa was this small woman, with brown hair and brown eyes. Reminded Squall of Rinoa a little bit. Next to her was this huge black man, with a gun grafted to his right arm. His name was Barret.
Barret, “Okay, what is going on?”
Tifa, “Yeah, where is Cid and Cloud?”
Yuffie, “Oh, well we have no idea. . .”
Zell, “At least he isn’t as sore as we are.”
Yuffie, “This is Zell and Squall.”
Tifa, “Nice to meet you.”
Squall, “We can talk on board Ragnarok.”
They go aboard, to a side room to talk.
Zell, “Well, your friend Cloud beat us in a fight.”
Tifa, “He what? Why would he do that?”
Vincent, “................... He wasn’t himself. “
Yuffie, “And now Cid is gone, again..... Hey, I guess you make the decisions now, Tifa.”
Barret, “Damn, I can do that stuff.
The two girls, “As if!”
Squall looks confused, “What is this chain of command?”
Tifa, “Well, normally Cloud is the leader. Next is one in charge is Cid. When he is busy or not available, I am the leader. Beyond that, who knows.”
Zell, puzzled, “How did you arrive at this?”
Tifa, “Well, we were trying to save our world from a danger I won’t go into. Cloud was suffering from Mako Poisoning so he was out of it for a while. We made Cid leader because he owned the airship Highwind. Cid was also a captain and he had experience in being a leader. I was elected next in line.”
Tifa and Barret get updated on the current events.
Barret, “So, we have to beat Cloud?”
Tifa, “This may be a bit hard. . . “
Zell, “Oh?”
Tifa, “Trust me.”
