Disclaimer: I do NOT own ANY Final Fantasy VIII characters, though I wished.
Rated: R/for now
!WARNINGS! A classic Mary-Sue fic! If you don't like girls mysteriously finding their way in the world of Final Fantasy VIII then, I suggest you leave as quickly as possible.
YOU: I usually don't post if I don't get Feed Back. It just proves that this fiction wasn't worthy enough to be put on here. So, if you like it, be sure to post a review, even if it is to tell me to UPDATE. I like being pushed.
Summary: Seventeen year old Lisa Cardaci, spends her birthday in Japan to meet with Executive Producer, Hironobu Sakaguchi. What does that have to do with her winding up outside of Balamb a week before all conflicts?
PineappleGirl: I just recently found out that she drools. Yeah, I know it's a bit of a shocker. I guess that's the downside to Squall/Rinoa's relationship. Anyways, thank you for reviewing. I love your reviews. You're the only one who reviews so I give you this super sexy picture of David Bowie
I can't imagine all the people that you know
and the places that you go
when the lights are turned down low
and I don't understand all the things you've seen
but i'm slipping inbetween
you and your big dreams
it's always you
in my big dreams
and you tell me that it's over
wake up lying in a patch of four leaf clovers
and your restless, and i'm naked
you've gotta get out
you can't stand to see me shaking
...no
could you let me go?
I didn't think so
Chapter Seven: My Konstantine
"Oh, shit! You got like two minutes left. You didn't go for twenty, right?"
A growl interrupted my nagging, and I turned around to see a very irritated Squall. "As if I have an option."
I gave him a pointed look. "Actually, you do-ah!"
He pushes me, almost alittle too close to the edge of the second escort car. I'm deathly afraid of heights and him pushing me isn't going to get me over it anytime sooner. A hand steadies me on two feet and I smile to see that it's Squall, and give him sheepish smile. "Thanks."
A roll of his eyes and he's helping me jump onto the President's car. I must have screamed, because the look he was giving me is a cross between concerned or confused.
"Squall, there's something you should know about President Deling..."
"I don't want to hear it."
"But Squall-"
He turns to me, squinting his eye, warningly. "Lisa, I said I don't want to hear it."
It was the first time he said my name, but it wasn't as pretty as I thought it would be. Probably, because he's been mean to me this whole time. I shrugged it off, stepping inside to see the fake President sitting down, casually reading a newspaper and sipping his tea. Are those biscuits?
"Wait out here," Squall said, heatedly. "Rinoa wants this done with SeeD's help."
I raised an eyebrow at him, snickering as he walks away. "Wait out here, where there's worser dangers. Maybe the gang won't notice it when something comes by and eats you up..."
Zell laughed and I jumped, unexpectedly. "I was standing there the whole time."
I nodded, mutely.
"It's alright, Baby. I'll be back in a few minutes," he winked, taking his time to step in through the doors.
A few minutes pass and I start to pick at my nails. I could hear them exchanging words and Rinoa, stupidly egging on this Gerogero demon. I'm sure it wouldn't be that way if she only knew it was Gerogero. I sighed, this could have been avoided if he listened to me.
"...My butt hurts from all of this sitting...young...LADY..."
I shut my eyes, shaking my head just a bit. Oh, that President Deling. I like him already. "Din...dun...dun...din...nerrrr...din...dun...dun..." I tried to do my best imitation of the battle music, but was obviously failing, miserably.
"...he's fake..."
I tilt my head towards the door. "Oh, now you notice? Just wait until he-"
"...what the hell is that?"
I peeked in a bit, seeing the top of a skull. "I guess the secrets out. Having fun, yet?"
"...Baby, this thing is half fat and half skinny. It's alright though, I got the fat side..."
About twenty minutes later, they come out with very consumed looks on their faces.
The tension broke, as Zell looks over at Selphie, then to Squall. "Did anyone see that coming?"
I gave a little wave and he nodded. "Of course."
"I think we did just fine without knowing," Squall said, while opening the straps to his gloves. I wondered if they were too tight for him or if he was just airing them out?
-
"He's gone bloody mad!" Quistis yelled, while chasing after Seifer, who had ran right passed us. "Follow him!"
We ran around the TV station, chasing after the gray coat that wiped around corners, until finally-I halted, putting my arm out to restrain anybody from going any further. The room darkened and Edea entered the room, circling Seifer as she did so.
"Seifer!" Rinoa gasped, pushing at my arm. "No!"
Seifer was probably hearing everything he ever wanted, mixed with spells that seemed to enrapture him to follow such an ugly-thing. It's funny how you can sense what she's saying and not hear it. Adel's voice is what's probably reaching him. Seifer smirks and starts follow behind Edea, disappearing into the wall.
I let my arm drop, now that the wall no longer looked like a portal, and watched as Rinoa ran to where the blond use to be. She slammed her fists at the solid barrier, giving up after a few minutes to look at me. "He was only trying to help!"
My eyes vert to the ground and without another word, I began to walk away. If I wanted to, I could have done something. I could go to Rinoa and tell her that Seifer's not dead and that he's just tainted. Then, there would be Squall. I'd be going against his wishes. Then I'd get that look. You know, that look!
"Trust me," I kept my back to the group and gave a shrug. "I think it's going to be okay."
I could hear Rinoa sobbing at my words, as if I had given Seifer the death sentence. I am standing here, trying to simplify things, and all she wants to do is cry. If I could just tell her that Seifer lives, it would make things so much easier. To spare her tears, her grieving, and her sadness.
She ran out of the room, probably going down by Zone and Watts.
One of Lisa Cardaci's most confused moments, ever. I looked at Squall, wanting to ask him if he's satisfied. My voice was lost at the look of him. His gunblade is at his side, supporting him to stand. The look of tired and exhaustion, like he wants this to end now.
A look of lost and abandon. What was Seifer to him at this point? Home was far from him now, it's done. We can only move forward and he can only learn.
I just want to lay his arms down and keep the monsters far from bay.
"We should find her," I said, lowly. "She shouldn't be alone at a time like this."
Selphie agrees. "Not with those meanie jerks out there!"
I smiled, briefly. "Not with them out there."
"I got the tickets. Here, you take it, Quistis." Zone handed her the ticket and pointed towards the way. "And Squall, take care of Rinoa. I swear to Hyne...if you don't."
"I will." Squall sighed, placing a gloved hand at his hip. "Let's go."
"So," Zell started. "What was it like where you lived?"
Selphie added, "Do you miss it?"
"I don't know if I miss it. I really didn't have much to miss, besides the food." I laughed, mostly at myself. "It was nothing like this...there's no excitement. A world without monsters and magic. A place of nothing."
"A place with no monsters!" Zell beamed. "Baby, I'd love to live there."
"...a place where you can't sneeze without being judged. If you pulled out a napkin to catch it or if you used your sleeve."
"Okay, gross," Selphie giggled. "That's Zell right there."
I vert my eyes to Squall, who's looking out the window, like usual. "No Knights with swords who run off and marry their Princess. No small villages with happiness and laughter. I'd be going back to so much violence, bad things that you can't even fathom."
"Horrible," she whispered. "There has to be a good side, good people!"
"There's some good people there, their not all evil. My friend, Yutaka, wanted to stay with his kids. He gave up everything just to-I don't know if this is how he saw it, but I always saw it as him leaving a great future for a greater purpose."
"I wasn't really sure where I was going in my life. There really was no game plan, even when I thought I had it all figured out. I think 'he' chose me, because I didn't know where I was going-"
"Who is 'he'?" Squall asked, suddenly snapping out of his daze. Was he really listening to me the whole time?
"A friend."
He nods his head, curtly, and continues to watch the trees pass.
"Squall, do you know what those dreams are about, yet?" Quistis got up from her seat and joined him by the window. "I think it's a little odd that we all dreamed the same things."
"There's no time to think, anymore. We have a job to do."
Well, he sure had a nice way of putting things. And for a moment, I could actually feel him wanting to understand me.

Lady_Saktaka: I don't know if I should continue this, it's going all wrong.
Seifer: The girl has no hope in herself. You know, that's why Barret left you.
Lady_Saktaka: Oh my God. What did I say about talking about him?
Seifer: What? You might have said something, but I blocked my ears at the time. So, it doesn't really count.
Lady_Saktaka: Anyways, I don't think this is working out too good. I could be wrong, you guys could be liking it?
Seifer: Review in. You suck, love Barret.
Lady_Saktaka: Well, that's all for now. Exit stage left.
