For Those Who Fight Futher
“What the fuck is that thing?!” Kira yelled, obviously confused as I stepped back a little, holding my arm.
“...It looks like... Bael from Devil May Cry 4.” I concluded as the giant yellow toad jumped in front of us. “It’s just... golden.”
“What if it spits that shit on us like it did to Nero?” Kyrie recoiled as I motioned her to calm down.
“Look, obviously we can’t use Nero’s method.” I started. “We can’t pick him up, throw him, pull on his non-sexual antennas, shoot him or burn it with Red Queen.” I sighed. “We have to think of something else...”
“We...?”
“Okay.. I have to think of something.” My arm pulsed again and I gripped it tightly. Maybe this is what Cloud felt when he had the stigma. “Shit, can you guys cover me while I think?”
“Can do, senpai!” Kira smirked as the rest of them nodded.
It was hard to think with all the racket they started to make but this arm didn’t help one bit. I doubt we could use any magic or materia if we had some anyway. We could do Dante’s method and just kill it with the sword... but our katanas are more for speed then offence. We could pull a Vergil move on it but what if it does the mist crap before we hit it...? Does it even have that..?
“Damn it! This isn’t getting us anywhere!” Kira practical growl after realizing it wasn’t doing anything to the demon. She swung her sword out of anger... but it made a wave of red light that turned into a fire.
It barely dodged it.
“What was... that?” I muttered as Kira looked at her sword in wonder and the others looked in awe. “Hey, Buru! Come over here!” The short tempered girl obliged and ran over to me.
“Hey, do you know what I just did?”She asked as I shook my head.
“Cla-- Red!” We heard the eldest girl yell and we snapped our heads in our direction. The Bael look alike jumped in front of Claire, ready to attack and our eyes widen.
“Leave me alone!” There was a bright light around her and a green shield appeared, making the beast get thrown back. The older girl opened her emerald eyes in shock as she stared at the beast across the field.
“I... think I understand now...” I muttered as Kira looked at me encouraging me to go on. “When we feel a strong emotion, strange powers awaken.” I gazed at her. “Frustration and annoyance result to black magic while fear and sorrow result to white magic.” I paused. “That or we have our own elements.”
“Makes sense to me.” She said and grinned. “Hey, Green! You fight as good as your mama!” I flinched slightly, knowing that was a soft spot for the girl. Kyrie instantly turned to her, hate burning in her eyes, “Adios, senpai!”
Kira ran towards the monster and jumped on it. Holding onto its icicles, the toad tried to get her off. Kyrie was still angry with the comment and slashed where the younger girl was. However, she moved and hit the ice frog instead, with a large thunder bolt.
“I see, proving her...” I said aloud. My arm pulsed again and I gripped it tightly. What was wrong with it? Claire ran over to me and examined my arm. As soon as she touched it, I jumped back and hissed in pain. Her fingertips felt like fire.
“What’s wrong, Vio-senpai?” She asked concerned as I rubbed my arm.
“I don’t know...” I looked up at the two who were now fighting and the unsuspected Toad walked towards them. “Aw, fuck...!” I dashed towards the two fighting, leaving Claire behind.
I slid in front of them and held out my hands. Kira and Kyrie moved away from me as it came closer. As soon as it had impact, a black wall with blue symbols appeared in front of my hands. I held it, while it tried to break through. Suddenly, my arm pulsed again and I dropped my hands.
It pushed me all the way to the other side of the field and I slid against the floor.
“That... hurts more than... it looks.” I muttered, pushing myself off the ground. My front parts of my legs were all scrapped and my arm burned more. “Shit...” I stood up straight, leaning on my weapon. “Aren’t I supposed to be a damn cat?!”
“Vio-senpai! Daijobou?!” Claire yelled towards me and I gazed up at them. All three were fending off the demon.
“Yosh! Time to kick ass!” Kira smirked, pointing her weapon at it. “You’re dead, frogger!”
“Yeah, no one hits Vio-senpai!!” Kyrie snapped at the beast. They all charged at it, knowing they could get themselves killed. Great friends, no?
Suddenly, the eldest girl’s sword started to glow a bright yellow. After yelling the lines of, ‘Thunder Slash’, a large bolt like waved dove for the toad. It’s got hit back on the floor and growls loudly. Maybe we do have our own powers...
“Let me try!” The younger girl jumped up and down. She stood perfectly still, her eyes closed and started to move her hands around. It looked kind of hypnotizing. Her eyes shot open and fire appeared around her blade and she ran towards the ice frog. She jumped into the air and slashed multiple times in the air. They all hit it right on.
“That was amazing, Buru-san!” The older girl said in awe as Kira smirked proudly. “What can I do?” The brunette started to move her hands around the front of her. A small white ball was forming and she flicked it softly towards the monster. Kira and Kyrie gaped as it pushed the demon into the blue force field.
“Hey, thanks for looking after me...” I muttered softly as they all crowded around me. “It means a lot.” They giggled and helped my stand straight.
“Don’t worry!” The Blue like girl said, grinning.
“Um... I-I don’t think he’s dead...” Claire said, shook as she pointed behind us as we all turned to look at it. It was bleeding heavily and one of the eyes were popped some how. It was nasty. It reached out to claw us as we all held our heads when suddenly my arm began to pulse.
The attacked stopped as my arm now glowed bright purple symbols. My whole arm turned pitch black except my fingers which were a light blue. I stood straight and gazed at my transformed arm then at the demon.
“It’s the princess!”
... I can understand it?
“Forgive me, your highness! I did not mean to hurt you or your friends! I did not think you would have humans for friends!” It began to moved back slowly, imitated that I was there. My eyes were wide as the three women looked at me.
“What’s wrong?”
“I don’t know-- I covered my mouth with my hands as other words than English appeared from it. They stared at me. “What the hell is up with my voice?!” I muttered to myself and silently freaking out.
“Vio-senpai...?” Claire said, slight scared and I frowned.
‘If Claire is scared of me...’
“Disappear, demon. I do not need you here.” I lifted my left hand and made it face it. Suddenly, it turned into small black squares and disappeared. The black and the blue on my arms came off, like it was sealed with the demon here and I fell to the ground.
“Senpai!” they said in unison and I fell into darkness.
