Chapter 8
Cloud, “Okay, you want to take over the world. No problem.”
Two men were Mr. Keith and Mr. Snarcet. Mr. Keith has ginger colored hair and hazel eyes. He is in his twenties and average build. Mr. Snarcet is in his late thirties. His black hair has gray in it, his black eyes not missing much. He is slightly over weight.
Mr. Keith, “I am pleased you will be helping me achieve my goal. I do hope to be close friends with you.”
Cloud, “I going to get something to eat.”
Cloud wanders to another part of the research center. He find the kitchen and makes a sandwich. He doesn’t remember where he had this type of sandwich before but doesn’t care. He sees Cid wander in. Cid looks lost and confused. Cid’s coat is off so one can see he now is wearing an arm band with a light blue jewel on it.
CiWherWhere am I?” At least finding the other man familiar.
Cloud, “Your new home, partner.”
Cid still a bit confused, “We are partners?”
Cloud, “Yeah, want to help me take over the world?”
Cid, “Hell, I suppose so. . . Got nothing better to do.”
Cloud, “Hey, let me make you a sandwich and we can plan our first attack.”
Squall found Tifa easy to get along with. Though she looked similar to Rinoa, she was more a tomboy. The others seemed to respect her. He got the impression they once before had trouble with Cloud.
Squall, “So, how honest was Cloud up there on that tower?”
Vincent, “I don’t think he was lying.”
Zell, “Are you sure?”
Tifa, “Cloud usuallesn’esn’t lie.”
Squall, “The problem we have is we don’t know exactly know what they are going to do. Cloud may have been pulling our leg. Let go back to Balamb Garden and see if there new has happened.”
They return to the Balamb Garden. Kramer gets to meet Tifa and Barret. Barret was been quiet for most of the time they were there. Squall tries to ask him when he is alone.
Squall, “Tell me, what has Cloud done in the past?”
Barret, “Hell, in’t n’t my place to tell you.”
Tifa comes up, “No, I should..... Cloud has been messed up a bit in the head before.” She gives a short version of Cloud’s past not going into Jenova itself, Sephiroth, or Meteor. “ He did lead us into battle quite well. Something you should keep in mind. Cloud is far from being a moron.”
Squall, “Well, I can take you to some rooms. If you want, you may rest there.”
A few days past. General Cloud was overlooking the city. He didn’t think Esthar City would be this easy to take over. Once the President was captured, the rest fell into place. They put a fake President Laguna Loire in his place and have already started using the citr rer recruiting soldiers. Cloud was quite pleased by how he pulled it off. Now, it was up to Keith and Seifer to recruit men and deal with town defenses. Cloud and Cid went over the resources of this town. Cloud was told they might attack two other places. They just haven’t decided which order to go by. This annoyed Cloud to no end. While Cid went over inventory, Cloud looked over some maps they found. Cid was doing well by himself with the lists.
Cid, “Damn. . . With this stuff, we could pull off an attack on any place here.”
Cloud, “Oh?”
Cid, “Yeah, and I can even lead an air attack now.”
Cloud, “I am hoping they decide where they want me to attack soon. The longer we wait, harder things will get.”
Cid, “What are you going to do with that Laguna person?”
Cloud, “Keep him around...... We will soon need him. I had Laguna shipped back to the research center for now. Also told Seifer if he messes with my prisoners, he will die a slow death.”
Cid snorts.
Cloud, “Well, it might be fun.....”
They hear Mr. Keith approach.
Mr. Keith, “We will be ready to move out in a few days with an army.”
Cloud, “Good.”
Mr. Keith, “We need another attack similar to your last. Keep an eye out for certain people.”
Keith gives Cloud some photos and walks out. Cloud looked at the pictures. One is the place they want attacked. He was sure the man could be easy to capture. The girl looked familiar to hNo, No, he thought, not the girl herself. . . she just looked like someone he might have known. Images of a girl flashed through his mind. He didn’t realize he was staring at Rinoa’s photo till Cid shook his shoulder.
Cid, “Hey, you’re spacing out on me.”
Cloud lost the girl’s image, “Oh? Sorry. . . Okay, I think we cull ull this off. . . “
