Warped Perspective part 3

Chapter 8

The chamber is larger and looked more man-made. Someone shaped the cavern into a more appealing room. Jenova sitz gracefully on a stone throne. Behind her, in some weird web, is Chancey. Her arms held out sideways and her legs bound together. Chancey isn’t conscious. Jenova stands up and indicated them walk forward. The battle doesn’t start off that well. They have trouble getting close enough to Jenova to do damage. Zackery swings his Ultimate sword, she throws a fireball at him. Madnol and Xavier triy to double team her, she would cast meteor at them. The Turks use their guns and discovered she had a shield around her. They still continued their attack on her.

Each time she casted a spell, the webbing glowed. She is somehow using Chancey in her spells. During the fight, Art flies in from a top vent. He goes over to Chancey and begins pulling at the webs that held her to the wall. Zackery redoubles his effort to make sure Jenova is too busy to notice this. Art has most of it broken, when she does notice him. She flings him against the wall. Art hits with a considerable amount of force and falls to the ground in a a limp heap. Chancey falls from the webbing to the ground.

Meanwhile, the battle isn’t going so well for the others. Xavier was hit by a stone spell. This drove Madnol near berserker rage. The good news; since Chancey is no longer in the webbing, they are able to do more damage to her.

Then she changes into a stronger form. On her back are golden six wings. Her white tentacles grow barbs. Her nails formed talons. All her wounds were healed over. This time she does both magic and physical attacks. Her first attack on on Kain. His body flies to the side and didn’t move. Vincent is struck down next. Art is awake now. His wings hung in unnatural angles. He isn’t able to pull them back unless they are healed. Plus, Art finds himself unable to stand. So, he crawled over to Chancey. He discovers she isn’t hurt and he left her there. He crawls over to help the others who were hurt, unaware of the blood he trailed. First fighter he reaches is Xavier. He cast one of his last spells on Xavier, an old soft spell. While Xavier is recovering, he crawled over to Kain. He took out Kain’s last vial and gave the Turk some of the potion. Kain wakes up to see Art.

Kain, “You are a mess.”

Kain insists the rest of the potion be used by Art. Art is healed enough for his body to cope and able to put his wings away. The three men rejoin the battle. The only things that kept this battle going are the potions they had with them, but the potions are running low. Vincent wakes up on his own and makes his way over to Chancey.

The battle is looking very bleak. Zackery begins to wonder if he could buy his friends some time to escape. Then he feels Cloud nearby and approaching. So, he continued to fight. When Cloud enters into the chamber he held a different sword. He does a jump and landed next to them. It appears he also had to fight some creatures along the way.

Cloud, “Am I late?”

He begins to fight Jenova with them. Vincent recognizes the sword Cloud now used. It was once used by Sephiroth. Jenova seems angry when she saw Cloud fighting on their side and takes some efforts to strike at him. Despite this, they were doing damage to the alien. Chancey took this time to begin to concentrate. Vincent keeps a guard position next to her. Through their renewed link, Zackery realized Cloud wants him to do a combined attack. Cloud needed some of Zackery’s willpower.

Zackery, “Give us some cover, guys!”

They try to provide cover for the two, as they powered up for an attack. Cloud takes the lead and, with Zackery’ s help, gave Jenova a devastating blow with a limit attack. They followed with a weaker attack that was close to the one Cloud used on the Trent tree. At the tip of his sword a mass of energy forms. The ball slams down into her with Cloud going down with a devastating slash. The other’s use this moment to finish her off. Cloud sank to his knees, tired and in pain. He put forth the most energy in the attack and felt the cells within him trying to take over again. Zackery also feels drained. Art is off to the side, not certain what to do now. Xavier and Kain are checking Vincent Ma Madnol go over to Zackery and Cloud.

Zackery knelt beside him, “Are you okay?”

Cloud, “No... Either kill me now or do something fancy like last time. “

Vincent, “Take out the materias! Chancey is ready.”

Cloud is almost curled up in a ball, “Just hurry up a bit faster!”

They pull out the materias and they began to glow. Chancey floats in the air and chant in the ancient Cetra tongue. Zackery and Madnol join the others who stood next to Chancey. Cloud is surrounded by the circles of light. Zackery got to see this process from the outside this time. The link between Cloud and Zackery is broken when the circles formed so he didn’t know how the man was doing. On the outside of the circles they can see the ghost of people waiting. Cloud screams in pain when the black circle passs through him. He is gently lowered to the ground, then chanting and lights ceased.

Aeris' spirit join them as the other spirits stood around Cloud. He is lifted to his feet by the spirits. What they can see, he had the expression of grief and guilt. He seems to be talking to them, but they ain’t certain what was said. He seems to take heart whatever they told him. Cloud says his farewell to his long dead friends.

Barret is the first to vanished. Yuffie pinchs his check and winks before she left. Tifa kisses him on the lips before she vanishes. Reeve seems to request something before leaving. That left Cid and Aeris. Cid salutes them all and leads Aeris out of the room by her arm. They seem to vanish just outside the entrance. Art hurries over to Cloud. The others followed him.

Art, “Are you feeling okay?.”

Cloud is still in a slight daze, “Okay, I guess... I am so sorry. I did alot of damage.“

Vincent, “You were not in your right mind.”

Cloud, “Sorry for trying to kill all those times, Vincent.”

Vincent, “Thanks for not killing me those times you could have.”

Kain, “I think we better go back now.”

Art puts an arm around Chancey, “I think I’ll be sore for weeks! That bitch can swing a punch or what!”

They rest at Cosmo Canyon. Art once again is his horney self. He still refuses to say what he did when he left with Cloud that night. Cloud doesn’t go into it either. Madnol and Xavier say they were going home in the morning. They did have a life to continue. Kain is planning to go back to New Midgar and resume his new job. Vincent is going along to rebuild the Turks. Cloud seems very uncertain on what to do. He did kill alot of people and doesn’t feel he would be quite wee ine in this world. His own guilt over this didn’t really help his frame of mind. He decides to travel and to go to the unexplored parts of the world for a while. They know he needs time to deal with things. Zackery decides he would go with his grandfather and keep him company. Cloud doesn’t argue against it. It is clear Art and Chancey had future plans together. They don’t stay by the fire for long.

Cloud, his mako eyes glowed with some amusement, “That is one horney fellow.”

Madnol, “Yeah.”

Zackery, “What did they say to you?”

Cloud, “Some of it was very personal. But Reeve had a message for Kain and Vincent. He wants you two to turn Tylunar into a company that reaches for a better future for this world. He trusted you both could do it.”

Nanaki, “What happened to the spirits?”

Cloud, “I think they finally joined the life stream, but I am only guessing.”

Xavier, “What was it like being controlled by Jenova?”

Cloud, “A weird nightmare. . . . It is not easy to describe.”

Zackery, “It is over.”

Cloud, “Not for me. I will have to live with my deeds for the rest of my life. I am responsible for my actions and the results of my actions. Even weak willed people can make the choice to give in or keep fighting. Maybe I will be able to redeem myself again.” Cloud gives a tired shrug.

Eventu, th, they all retire for the night.

Cid and Aeris watched them as they sat by the fire. When the others go to bed, they go back to Highwind.

Cid, “Yeah, I have to say I am not ready to leave this behind. I think I’ll stick around somewhere.”

Aeris, “Why not return to the old Cetra city with me? In fact I know some useful tricks I can teach you. . . ”

Cid, “Oh? I guess could learn some things. Smacking them in the head is fun, but doesn’t get the point across.”

Aeris, “ ... I have to admit, that a part of me always had a crush on you.”

Cid looks surprised, “Oh? But then again you were only a kid.”

Aeris, “I am no longer a kid . . . “

Cid smirks, “And?”

Aeris drags him into a side room.

Cid, “Oh.... Damn woman!”
