The Aftermath of the Aftermath
Chapter: The Aftermath of the aftermath.
Lucrecia sat in the living room with an ice pack on her head.
Beth sat next to her mother, on the floor, sitting on an ice pack and trying to keep away from Nanaki and that damned flamed tail of his.
Danielle sat still, trying not to re-injure any part of her body, her right arm, left leg and poor neck had been through too much that day, after a strange run in with cabbages.
Dr. Hojo sat on the love seat, his several scraps and cuts and claw marks covered in anti-infection jellies and aloes.
Sephiroth’s face was covered in anti-infection creams as well. He kept mumbling something that sounded like ‘my beautiful face,’ but nobody asked.
The entire family was not making much noise. Nobody wanted to admit that their earlier antics had been, well, funny.
“Okay, who started this, so I know who the fuck to sue?” Dr. Hojo grumbled.
“That would be Sephirena.”
“Beth.”
“Sis.”
Beth glared at her mother, “How dare you use my first name... I got hurt just like everyone else...”
“Yeah, but you didn’t fall down the stairs...” Her father said.
“Or get a Cait launched at you...” Sephiroth grumbled.
Cait, the black and white kitten, let out a cute purring sound at Lucrecia, then glared at Sephiroth while flexing his claws casually.
Sephiroth shuddered while touching a deep gash in his forehead.
“Or get a pot to the cranium.” Lucrecia said, rubbing her head.
“Or get injured laughing too hard.” Danielle said.
Everyone else laughed at that.
“Well, I got a torch up the keester.”
Nanaki raised his head and growled at Beth, who just shifted on her ice pack nervously. She also mumbled something about her ass growing numb.
“So... Greg, what homework did you have tonight?” Beth said, smiling.
“Don’t use my middle name!” Sephiroth launched himself off the couch and tackled Beth, sending both of them tumbling over each other.
Nanaki scurried as far away and as fast away from the twins as he could, his tail tucked between his legs.
Sephiroth was sitting on top of Beth, beating her in the stomach. Beth was screaming.
Cait dove for cover under the sofa, hissing at the two.
Beth threw Sephiroth off of her, and towards Danielle.
Sephiroth regained himself before slamming into the woman, and stopped himself by rolling, right over Dr. Hojo’s toes.
“ENOUGH! SEPHIROTH GREG HOJO! SEPHIRENA BETH HOJO!” Dr. Hojo bellowed.
Both twins stopped and looked at their father.
“STOP FIGHTING IN THE LIVING ROOM!” He screamed.
“Yes, that’s what we have the sparing room for...” Lucrecia said.
Beth stood up and dusted herself off, “Race ya.”
Sephiroth smiled, “You’re on!”
Both twins rushed off to grab their weapons, materia and armor, then to ran towards the Sparing Room.
“I didn’t know you had a ‘Sparing room.” Danielle said.
“Yeah, and it doubles as an insane person room, it’s padded.” Dr. Eugene Hojo said, rubbing his head, where the vein in his head throbbed painfully.
“So we always let Sephiroth sleep in there.” Lucrecia joked.
“I always figured he was insane.” Danielle said, reaching for her crutches.
“Where are you going?” Lucrecia said, holding the now melted ice to her head.
“I don’t want to miss this fight.” Danielle said.
“We do have a big plate glass window, so you can watch their spars...” Eugene said, standing up, stepping on Cait’s tail. The cat screamed and ran away. “Sorry Cait.”

Danielle sat down in front of the window in the spar room to watch the fun.
Beth had unsheathed her weapon and had made sure her materia was charged.
Sephiroth had tied his hair back in a ponytail.
That caused Danielle to think of something that she would do to him later.
Beth stood ready, “Ladies First...”
Sephiroth growled, “I’ll get you for that...” He cast Ice 3 at her.
It did nothing.
Beth laughed, “Notice that you did go first after all...” She held up her Angel’s Bangle. “Member? It blocks Ice, Fire, Lighting, Earth and Wind?”
Sephiroth kicked himself, he had one too. He growled. “You...” He pointed at her.
She cast Haste on herself.
Sephiroth grumbled again, he would have to wait until his damned time gauge filled up, where he would then cast Haste on himself.
Sephiroth did cast Haste on his next turn, then right after, Beth smiled evilly, then sliced Sephiroth twice.
“Double Slash... bro, Double slash...”
Sephiroth cast Regen on himself.
“Oh, what makes you think you’re going to be here long?”
“Because,” Sephiroth smiled, “I got the Knights of the Round...”
Beth gasped and looked down at her bangle, and sure enough, there was a blank, empty space where her Knights of the Round was suppose to be.
“You idiot, I got that far and square, I stole it off of Cloud last Monday!” Beth hissed.
“Yeah, and here’s the kicker, I am not going to use it.” Sephiroth said, before casting Demi3.
“Fuck you!” Beth said, feeling her body take the hit, she growled and cast Alexander, the Holy basted attack.
Outside of the room, Danielle was trying to get the mother and father of the twins that were fighting to wager against them.
“Come on, can’t you guys beat against your children? I know Sephiroth will win.”
“Drop it Danielle.” Dr. Hojo said.

“Hmm...” Beth smiled, “Did that hurt you bro?”
“No, KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE! ULTIMATE END!”
“WHAT???” Beth screeched, “YOU PROMISED JUST MINUTES AGO!”
“I know...” Sephiroth said, before vanishing, “But how else am I suppose to learn to be such an evil guy?”
Beth screamed through the entire attack.
When Sephiroth returned, Beth was laying on the ground.
Sephiroth ran to his sister and picked her up.
“Hello kitty, I want to play with the banana...” Beth said before passing out.
Sephiroth sighed and dropped her, letting her fall onto the padded floor, “She’s alright Mom!”
Outside, Lucrecia was looking at Eugene, “PAY UP!”
“What?” He said, “I bet that Sephiroth would win.”
“Yeah,” Lucrecia retorted, “But he CHEATED!”
“Ah, that’s my boy.” Dr. Hojo said.
Danielle snickered, she had them fighting over the twins.
“Mommy, could I get a Life2 in here?” Sephiroth said, kicking his sister with the toe of his boot.
“Be right in dear.” Lucrecia stood up and walked into the room. She cast Life2 on Beth.
Beth mumbled into the padded room, “Hello King Arthur, how are you today?”
“She’s fine.” Lucrecia smiled, turning to walk out of the room, “Just take her up to her room.”
Sephiroth shrugged and grabbed his sister around the braid and drug her out of the room. And across the kitchen, and living room. And up the stairs. And then, using her hair, threw her onto the bed.
Then Sephiroth causally just walked out the door, and casually flicked off the light, then closed the door.
Sephiroth headed back downstairs to talk with his parents.

It was early the next morning when Beth woke up, still in her clothes that she had worn the night before. She wondered where she was, what she had been doing the night before, and who the hell was sleeping in the room with her.
She flicked on her bedside lamp, and looked at her clock. It read five fifteen.
Beth sighed and lay back on the bed, realizing what had happened in the evening prior.
“Go. To. Sleep.” Danielle mumbled sleepily.
“Sorry...” Beth mumbled, rubbing her head and turning off the light.

“RISE AND SHINE!” Sephiroth came barreling into the room, “IT’s Tuesday!” Beth screeched loudly.
Downstairs, Lucrecia, Danielle and Eugene were starting breakfast. Lucrecia had just poured a cup of coffee for Danielle when they heard a loud shriek followed by a loud zap.
Sephiroth’s yell was soon followed by the zap.
“Danielle, would you like some cream and sugar?” Lucrecia smiled sweetly, as Sephiroth came running downstairs, seeming very frazzled.
“Didn’t we tell you not to forget to put on your Angel’s bangle first thing in the morning?” Eugene said from behind his morning paper, not looking at Sephiroth, who’s hair was standing on in.
“Sephiroth, you look like Don King!” Danielle chuckled, now without her casts, materia helped heal her overnight.
Sephiroth shot her a glance, “Hey Mom...” He said, while glaring at Danielle, “Can we have some CABBAGE for dinner tonight?”
“Don’t antagonize her, Sephiroth.” Lucrecia handed Sephiroth a glass of glowing orange juice and a bowl of slightly glowing oatmeal.
Beth came running downstairs, her hair combed and her clothes all nice and neat. Those weren’t the clothes she slept in.
“Morning Buttercup.” Eugene said, still not looking up from his paper.
“Mornin’ Daddy. Morning Mom, Morning Danielle...” Beth smiled, then frowned, “Morning o’ perverted brother of mine.”
Sephiroth raised one hand, “Yo.”
“What did he do now?” Lucrecia said, handing Beth her breakfast.
“Glowing again?” Beth sighed, “He rushed in without knocking... and I was changing.”
“Yes, glowing again...” Eugene said.
“Well, then, serves him right.” Danielle said, stirring her coffee.
Beth scarfed her Mako-laden breakfast and rushed to the bus, which by that time was waiting outside.

“GOOD MORNING!” Beth and Sephiroth heard someone as they were walking towards their side by side lockers.
Beth turned towards the Home Economics classroom, and there sat a round, fat and slightly messy Cloud.
“What are you doing in there?” Beth said, and Sephiroth stopped with her.
“What does it look like? I was eating and got tired.” Cloud pointed to the several empty pots around him.
“Well...” was all Sephiroth could say.
“Cloud, don’t forget, we swim today in gym, and you shouldn’t eat at least a half an hour before getting into the water, alright?” Beth said, turning towards her locker.

“And today, since Sephiroth tried to kill us with his chili, we are going to have a study hall today, and library time.” The Home Ec teacher was telling the class with Sephiroth in it, and they were in the study hall. “But you have to do a report... four pages, on whatever you want to.”
Sephiroth gave a grin, already thinking about what he was going to write his ‘busywork’ report on.

“And today, we are going to be swimming...” The Gym teacher was saying to the class, in their trunks and suits.
Cloud was still full, and his mouth still had chili all over it.
Yuffie was wearing a cute little light pink and purple bikini.
Beth was wearing a black suit, very conservative. The only decoration on it was a bright blood red ‘dripping’ skull and crossbones.
“Okay, we are going to swim laps.” The teacher was saying, and fired the starter pistol.
Cloud fell into the water, holding his side.
Beth shook her head and dove in, making mental notes on how she was going to harm Yuffie that day.

It was four laps later that Beth slipped out of her lane and into Yuffie’s lane.
Beth stopped and sunk down in the deep water and stayed there for a good long while.
Then, Yuffie came swimming by.
The teacher saw Yuffie go underwater.
Yuffie gasped for air, she was going under water and she couldn’t stop it. She fought hard against the foreign foe that was bringing her down.
She came up and gasped for air, and there beside her was a figure, wet, and laughing.
It was Beth!
Yuffie growled. That was mean. Yuffie had been held under the water for at least four minutes.

It was Band class, after lunch, and after Beth’s new favorite class, gym.
Beth played the flute.
Sephiroth played the... piccolo.
Lucrecia and Eugene had told them to pick and instrument, and Sephiroth had gotten the guy who gave him that damned instrument.
Beth and Sephiroth were practicing a duet that was coming up all too soon for either of them.
Beth looked behind her, at the trumpets, who was Reno, Elena and Rude.
“Could you guys not look over my shoulder? I am trying to practice my solo here.” Beth hissed at Rude, who was looking over her shoulder.
“Yeah...” Sephiroth said under his breath, “A four minute solo.”
“What was that?” Beth said, glaring at her brother.
“He said...” Reno began.

Sephiroth got off the bus, in a sulking mood, more sulking than usual.
Beth followed him, carrying her backpack, she was happy.
“Hello, how are my children?” Lucrecia said, as they walked in the door.
“Fine, fine...” Beth said.
All that came out of Sephiroth was a perfect E flat.
