The Misadventures of YRPBGN

DAY VIII:  R.I.P. Raikou

                It was once again another rainy day on the Thunder Plains. Baralai had decided to take Raikou for a walk (in its favorite spot of all Spira… The Thunder Plains… And he drug Gippal and Paine along with him. Paine wasn’t happy. She still couldn’t walk or move…)

“Seriously Baralai, I think the thing is just abusing you for its numerous WALKS it has to take every day to here,” Gippal complained.

“You guys, look how cute it is. See it’s smiling at us!” Baralai pointed to it. Actually, unbeknownst to him, it was actually eating  a random technician that wandered to close it it. And blood was coming out of its mouth as it crunched on it loudly.

“Uh, dude, I think he just ate a guy. Seriously, your dog is dangerous, Lai,” Gippal said backing up.

“Don’t be silly!” Baralai replied. See how cute he is!”

Just then one of the lightning towers came crashing down (ironically missing the group), and landed in front of them.

“Oh my god! We could have all just died from that huge tower!” Baralai yelled. “I told you it was dangerous to leave unattended, Paine! It’s you and the other Gullwings fault for not fixing it in those few last chapters of the game! We could have died from your recklessness!”

“It’s not my fault the damn programmers of that game made mini-games so damn hard to keep up with. And it’s not my fault we didn’t finish it. Yuna and Rikku made me stay at the Calm Lands to play THOSE mini-games! SO STOP YELLING AT ME!!!”

“Hey guys…” Gippal said, pointing to the pile of debris. “What’s that pool of blood under it?”

“Oh, that’s just the guy that Raikou was eat- Oh my Yevon! RAIKOU!!!” Baralai yelled rushing over to the crumbled tower. Sure, enough after Gippal helped him sort through the debris, Baralai found the critically wounded Raikou (along with the remainders of the technician he was eating…).

“Kou…” it said as it looked up at Baralai with sad eyes.

“Raikou! I’ll never forget you!!! You were my first Pokemon! And my only friend!!!”  he sobbed.

“Wait, what? Dude, we’re your friends too, Lai!” Gippal protested.

“Friends with benefits, asshole!” Paine said, even though she was still in the wheelchair.

Baralai was still sobbing though. Raikou had died in its arms. In a way, Paine had gotten back at the creature for putting her in the hospital. After that 10,000 Gil bill from the hospital, a crumbling Lightning Tower that killed a Legendary Pokemon didn’t suddenly seem so bad for her day.
