Chapter 9
*RIIINNG! RIIINNG! RIII...* "Tseng speaking."
"Edge. 21:00 tonight."
"Ah, Mr. Valentine. To the point as always, I see. Yes, I should be able to clear my schedule for that."
"Where?"
"I'll have Reno pick you up at Seventh Heaven."
Vincent hung up the phone, wondering just how big of a mistake he had just made. He shook his head and headed for the kitchen. Several preparations needed to be made before Cid arrived.

Yazoo paced the room for several moments, avoiding his brother's amused gaze. He couldn't believe it, he was even more of a failure than he though. But Mother had said there was a way to fix things...
* * * * *
"Mother is calling."
Yazoo was stunned, "She hasn't abandoned us?"
Loz just grinned and shook his head, "Why would she? We're her children, the last of her faithful sons." The fighter grew serious as he looked over his younger brother's face, "I'm sorry Yazoo. When Mother said that you couldn't hear her, I assumed that she mean you chose to ignore her. That's why I was so angry. I should have said something before this but she needed to tell me a lot about your problem and what needs to be done now."
Yazoo began to get over his shock and noted the change in his brother's speech. It seemed Mother had changed Loz when she chose to manifest so strongly in him like she had done with Kadaj, "What do you mean 'my problem'? Why can't I hear Mother, Loz?"
"Apparently there was a defect when you were created. Mother's cells in you kept falling dormant and deteriorating without the regular treatments in the labs. When we escaped and she was able to fully connect with us, she kept them active. However, when Kadaj was killed, our connection to her was disrupted by that strange rain. My body maintained her cells in me but yours..."
Yazoo sat in silence for several moments after Loz's voice drifted off.
"Don't cry Yazoo."
The marksman gave a pained smirk as he wiped off the tears, "That's my line, brother."
The older Remnant gave him a smile but his eyes had become unfocused again. Yazoo recognized this now, Loz was speaking with Mother.
"Would you like to hear her, Yazoo? It will only last a few minutes but..."
The younger brother shook his head quickly to cut the man off, "That doesn't matter. What do I need to do?"
The larger man grinned, "What we do best! Let's play." Blue-greens eyes gave the fighter a questioning look and Loz explained, "Mother says that if I inject you with a few of her cells, she will be able to talk to you for a few moments before they become dormant."
Yazoo gave a soft, "Oh," before leaning into his brother's open arms.
Black clothing was quickly forgotten on the floor and Loz could only grin as his brother impatiently pushed him to the bed. "Calm down, little brother. She isn't going anywhere and we might as well enjoy ourselves."
The younger man's longer, silver hair swayed as he shook his head, "No, its been too long, I want to...no, I need to..."
"Shh," Loz silenced the marksman, pressing a finger to the younger man's lips, "I understand."
Yazoo opened his mouth, lubricating two of the fingers as he impatiently rubbed himself against his brother's erection. The older Remnant groaned at the contact, finally hissing, "Fine! You want it so bad, we'll make this quick!"
The younger man moaned as two wet fingers were quickly thrust into him, scissored and removed before he had much time to adjust. Then he felt a larger object press against his entrance as he was lifted to straddle the larger man. A sound somewhere between a cry and a groan escaped his lips as the hardened member roughly invaded him. White stars flashed in his eyes as the pain of the harsh treatment spread through his body, causing his own erection to twitch with need. A part of him relished this, it was rare that Loz would grant him the fulfilling sensation. He moved his hips impatiently, signaling he was ready for more. "Please...Loz, keep going..."
Loz grunted as Yazoo's tight walls pulsed and shifted around him. He knew that with how dry and tight the younger Remnant was, he wasn't going to last long but, that seemed to be what the man wanted. He grabbed at the slender hips above him, thrusting further into the warm tunnel.
Yazoo cried out as his prostate was pressed by the movement, mixing the pain and pleasure. He could feel himself getting closer with each movement, his climax just out of reach. His mouth moved in wordless pleas as he pumped at his own hardness. As he arched and splashed his seed across Loz's stomach, he felt a warm wetness spread inside him.
:Yazzooo:
Blue-green eyes shot open, "Mother?!" He registered his brother's chuckle but was focused on the calming presence in his mind, 'I'm so sorry Mother!'
:Do not worry, my son. All will be well soon and you will hear my call on your own. Just follow your brother and together you will fulfill your destiny.:
Yazoo smiled, perhaps not all was lost. A flash of scarlet eyes passed through his mind, causing him to pause his thoughts.
:The dark one intrigues you, my little one? Then I will make a present of him to you.:
'Really? But...how?'
:Do not dwell on it. Simply follow your brother and all will be clear. I will be waiting for you...:
The soothing presence began to fade and Yazoo tried to cling to it but all too soon it disappeared.

He was alone. Although Loz lay on a cot only a few feet away, he felt empty and isolated. It had been easier when he thought that Mother was gone from both of them. Now he knew that it was his own failure that made him alone. Yazoo shook his head at the thought, 'Mother wouldn't want me to be like this. I have to be strong for her.'
A crackle broke through his thoughts as the speakers came online. He signaled to Loz, *They're listening.* The fighter nodded as a deep voice crossed the room, "On your cots please."
"Oh come on, Uncle Vincent," Loz whined and teased as he settled back on his bed, "Don't you love us no more?"
Yazoo smirked as the binding closed, but his focus was on the raven-haired gunman. 'Mother said she would make a present of Vincent. Does that mean he will join us?' He sighed as Vincent walked in, the emotional barriers around the man at an all-time high. 'Guess that answers that question.'
Scarlet eyes regarded them coolly, noting the lack of tension as Loz lay relaxed with his eyes closed and Yazoo watched him with a strange curiosity. "You two have reconciled? Good. Nanaki and I have business in Edge, but he will be returning in a few hours so anything you need will be taken care of then. For now, we have you lunch and magazines to keep you busy. Though," Vincent paused and allowed a small smirk at the two men, "Now that you are talking to each other again, I am sure you will have no trouble keeping occupied."
The gunman set down the tray at the end of Loz's bed and nodded to each man before leaving. After the door closed and resealed, the brother's grabbed a sandwich and ate in silence. Yazoo listened to the crackle and whine of the speakers as he motioned, *I have a question for you but I will need to speak. They can still hear.*
Loz nodded as he reached for his second sandwich, *Eat little brother, you will need your strength. Questions can wait.*
The tray was nearly empty by the time the system fell silent, but Yazoo waited several moments before speaking. Their captors could still be watching and he didn't want them to know that they were avoiding talking because he could hear the electronics. "You said that you needed to inject me with Mother's cells earlier but if I remember correctly..."
He was interrupted as Loz laughed, "I wondered when you would catch that. Yes, it would have been easier if you had simply cut or bit me and gotten her from my blood but I'm not into that as much as you are. The other way was much more fun."

"I shouldn't leave."
Nanaki frowned at Vincent, "Why not? Aeris said we all need to be there when Cloud returns. Are you worried about those two?"
Vincent nodded, "Something is wrong. I'm not sure what, but these feelings are almost never wrong."
"We have taken every precaution available, Vincent. The computer is set at maximum lock down with four voice-printed passwords and three key codes. No one is getting in or out without us or an army."
The gunman was silent for several moments as he stared at the screens, indecision clear in his eyes. Finally he shook his head and sighed, "Fine."
