Check, leather and lace meet silk satin and love

AN: The song is At the Beginning from the animated movie Anastasia and the characters are Squaresofts possessions, so I don’t own… damn…
Uh, this story is sort of AU, it means that there never was the war; Squall is female and um… pretended to be male at Garden. All the main characters graduated, made SeeD. Squall is 25 at the start of the fic and she left garden around six years ago.

Check, Leather and Lace meet Silk, Satin and Love

We Could Be Gone

~

We were strangers, starting out on a journey
Never dreaming, what we'd have to go through
Now here we are, I'm suddenly standing
At the beginning with you

Squall smiled at her reflection in the mirror. The butter soft leather molded to her legs and the checked skirt ended an inch above the tops of the thigh high boots. She smiled and slipped the corset on. It was crimson lace. She pulled the ties tight down her back and grinned in pleasure as her breasts shaped the front perfectly. She leaned in closer to apply make up before locking her apartment door as she swung a leather knee length coat on. She strolled down to the nearest club. She’d grown her hair and it hung from a high ponytail down to her waist. The music could be heard a block away from the club. She grinned and walked to the front of the line, smiling at the bouncer. She was a regular and the bouncer just let her in. Once inside, she let the cloak woman take her jacket before she strolled out onto the dance floor. The music thrummed through her veins as she moved her hips to the beat. The sway of the checked skirt drew eyes to her pale skin showing above her spiked heel boots.

Squall smiled and ignored the looks she was gathering. The music was the only reason she came to places like this. She didn’t drink anything from the places, except for lemonade when she was desperate. A pair of hands landed on her hips and she felt a male body nestle up behind hers. She turned to see who it was and found Seifer staring down at her in shock.

“Squall?” Seifer sounded so surprised. Squall smiled and stepped free of Seifer’s now lax grip.

“Good to see you Seifer.” Squall blew Seifer a kiss before melting into the crowd as best as she could. She headed to the bar and got herself a lemonade to distract herself from the fluttering in her stomach. As she turned to face the dancing crowd, glass in hand, she spotted Seifer coming straight towards her. She smiled coyly and propped a heel on the rail that ran a foot off the ground around the base of the bar.

“You’re female…” Seifer looked so shocked. Squall smiled and gently inclined her head.

“Always was Seifer. Just nobody could tell. I was a very late bloomer.” Squall smiled seductively and sipped from her glass.

No one told me I was going to find you
Unexpected, what you did to my heart
When I lost hope, you were there to remind me
This is the start

Seifer stared at the beauty standing before him. She looked perfect. Crimson lace corset that showed off the flat white stomach, red and black checked skirt that just covered everything and black leather boots that came halfway up her thighs.

“How have you been Seifer?” Her voice distracted him from his perusal and he smiled and leaned against the bar beside her.

“On one mission after the other. It’s rather boring being SeeD. Actually, nearly all of us are here. Zell, Selphie, Irvine and Quistis are floating around somewhere here.” Seifer leaned closer to Squall and ran the back of one gloved hand down Squall’s upper arm. Squall smiled up at him before turning to scan the crowd.

“And what have you been up to Squall?”

“I do a little bit of work at the hotel and I cook and sell cakes and sweets. I’ve become the regular little housewife.”

“I doubt that. Your outfit doesn’t scream housewife to me. Is there a husband to this housewife of yours?” Seifer smiled down at Squall as he spoke, watching the way the long lashes dipped seductively.

“Not yet. They don’t like the fact that I can beat them in a fight one handed.” Squall smiled up at Seifer enticingly and Seifer dropped a kiss on Squall’s cheek and extended an elbow.

“Shall we dance?” Squall swallowed what was left in her glass and set it on the bar behind her before taking Seifer’s elbow.

“I would like that.” Squall smiled and followed Seifer onto the dance floor. Seifer swung Squall around into his arms. Squalls arms slithered up around Seifer’s shoulders and his legs straddled one of Seifer’s thighs, rocking in close to Seifer’s hips. Seifer dropped his hands to Squall’s waist and rocked them in time with the slow beat. Squall’s head dropped to rest against Seifer’s chest and tangled her fingers in Seifer’s blonde hair.

“Seifer? Me and Selphie are kickin’ out. Hey, who’s the pretty lady?”

“Hey Irvine.” Squall pushed back and looked up at Irvine. Irvine gasped and leant in close to scrutinize Squall’s face.

“Squall?”

“Yeah. You wanna come back to mine? We can catch up.” Squall smiled back at Seifer as she spoke. Seifer nodded and looked at Irvine.

“You in cowboy? I’ll grab Zell and Quistis.” Squall nodded and watched Seifer walk away.

“Squall? You always been a girl?”

“Yeah. Hid it rather well didn’t I?” Squall smiled up at Irvine and brushed a bit of lint off the front of her corset.

And life is a road that I wanna keep going

Life is a road, now and forever, wonderful journey

I'll be there when the storm is through

They all congregated in Squall’s living room. Quistis and Selphie had yet to comprehend everything. They hadn’t been told that the woman was Squall. Zell had a shocked look on his face that guaranteed that he knew who it was.

“Guys.” Seifer spoke up from where he was comfortably seated in a black leather recliner. Squall was perched on the arm of said chair with Seifer’s arm around her waist.

“What’s the big surprise Seifer?”

“You girls ain’t figured it out yet? Introduce yourself honey.” Seifer smiled up at Squall. She stood up and moved so that she was standing front and center in front of the couch that Selphie, Quistis and Zell seated on it.

“Hi guys, long time no see. Squall Leonhart at your service.” Squall dropped into a neat curtsey before removing her coat. Jaws dropped and eyes stared. Squall smiled and flung the coat over the coffee table at her side.

“Is it really you Squall?”

“Yeah, bit different to last time you saw me I guess.” Squall smiled and started to play with her hair.

“What happened? Were you always female?”

“Always. I was a bit of a late bloomer, but definitely always female.”

“That’s why you never used the training center showers or change rooms.”

“No way in hell was changing with the boys.” Squall smiled as she sank down onto the arm of the recliner again. Seifer set a hand on her bare thigh and pulled her into his lap.

“Squally’s now the perfect little housewife.” Seifer spoke happily as Squall curled into a ball in his lap.

“Speaking of housewife… does anyone want anything?” Squall looked up from her study of Seifer’s clothing.

“A coffee would be wonderful.” Irvine spoke up and Squall smiled happily as she leapt from Seifer’s lap.

“Coffee for us too.” Quistis spoke for her and Zell. Selphie nodded when Squall looked at her. Squall turned back towards Seifer with a small smile.

“You’ll have caramel tea.” Squall smiled and Seifer nodded happily. The other stared at Seifer in shock.

“Caramel tea?”

“He always drinks it late at night.”

“How do you know?”

“I’d be interrupted by Squally late at night when he’d come for a glass of milk and honey from the cafeteria.” Seifer smiled at the fond memories.

After they left, Seifer was closing the door behind them; Squall sank down onto the coffee table to unlace her boots. As the laces ran up the back of her legs, she had to sit twisted to the side and pluck at the laces until they loosened enough for her to pull them off. As she slid one down and off her leg, Seifer turned and smiled at the sight of her perched precariously on the corner of the small coffee table.

“Let me get the other one for you.” Seifer knelt at her side and ran a hand up the back of her thigh until he reached the laces. As he pulled on them, Squall relaxed back against the coffee table, sinking back to prop herself up on her elbows.

“Thanks, I love these boots, but they are a pain to undo by yourself.” Squall stretched her leg out as Seifer started to pull the boot down and off. Seifer smiled as the creamy pale skin came into view after the black leather. It was such a delicious contrast that Seifer had to look away.

“I can see that. So, is the position of husband still open? I can beat you in a fight and we’ve known each other for years.” Seifer placed a tender kiss on Squall’s knee.

“Mmm, I’ll consider it. My husband had to love me and have won my heart you know.”

“Oh, I’ll try.” Seifer smirked and trailed a seductive hand up under Squall’s short skirt. Squall smiled at the blonde and drew him over her for a tender kiss.

“Only try?” Squall whispered seductively in Seifer’s ear, blowing a soft breath over his sensitive neck. Seifer shivered and started to suckle on Squall’s neck.

“I could try harder.” Seifer whispered in return, dropping his mouth to Squall’s collarbone. Squall laughed softly at the innuendo and gently pushed Seifer away.

“The coffee table is not the place to be doing this.” Squall spoke softly, stepping over Seifer’s body to walk towards her bedroom’s shut door.

“Am I meant to follow you?”

“If you want to continue this, a better venue is at hand.” Squall spoke while she pushed the door open and glanced back over her shoulder. Seifer smirked and leapt to his feet, following the brunette into her bedroom. The door slammed under Seifer’s heavy hand as he smirked at the brunette and gently tugged on the ties at the back of her corset.

“This has to go.” Seifer’s voice was muffled against her neck as he suckled at the sensitive skin. Squall shivered and put up no resistance to Seifer undoing and removing the corset. Once loosened it slid down her hips and then to the floor. She sighed as Seifer’s hands came up to claim her breasts. She arched into the touch and turned her head to meet his lips in a passionate kiss.

Seifer carefully lowered the dazed brunette to the bed and proceeded to drop kisses down her exposed neck and chest. Squall arched into the kisses and slid her fingers into his golden locks. As she gripped his head he sucked a nipple into his mouth and she held him tightly in place.

“Seifer…” Squall’s voice was husky with desire as she tugged at the arms of his jacket, insisting he remove it. Seifer shrugged out of his jacket and let her unfasten his shirt before he returned his lips to her delicate skin. She growled and grasped his hair, drawing his head to hers for a passionate kiss. As they kissed, Seifer’s hand roamed up the outside of her thigh, up under her skirt. She arched into the touch and trailed one hand down, pushing his shirt off his shoulders and throwing it across the room once she got it free. She then reached for his belt buckle, trying to work the familiar buckle from an unfamiliar angle. It only took two attempts to get the belt free and hanging loose. She reached for the waist of his pants, but he stopped her, distracting her with teasing nips that ran along her shoulder and down the middle of her chest, missing either nipple, hitting the valley between the two breasts. She cried out in pleasure and grasped his hair with both hands.

“Seifer!” Seifer smirked in pleasure and unbuckled the skirt, sliding it down and off Squall before settling between Squall’s spread legs. Squall reached for Seifer’s waistband. He let the brunette unbutton his pants and slide them down off his hips. He then kicked them off and to the floor. They were both in their underwear as Squall arched into Seifer’s demanding touch.

“Squally, you taste like heaven.” Seifer’s voice was hoarse as he nipped at her earlobe. She gave a low moan and tugged at Seifer’s boxers.

“Off.” She groaned the word as she arched her hips up into his.

Knew there was somebody, somewhere
Like me alone in the dark
Now I know my dream will live on
I've been waiting so long
Nothing's gonna tear us apart

Seifer gave a hoarse laugh and obligingly lifted up, letting Squall tug them off then, when they were low enough, he kicked them to the floor.

“Squall?” Seifer’s voice was low as his panted breath ran in a moist stream across the delicate pale skin of her collarbone and the hollow above it. Squall shivered and arched up into Seifer’s body. Her eyes fluttered open to find glittering jade eyes watching her face. She was confused. What was he waiting for? A gilded invitation?

Squall jerked upright, gasping in shock. She sighed and sank back down into the covers, looking beside her for any proof that the dream had been real. There was nothing. She slid from the bed and moved to her kitchen, preparing breakfast for herself. She hated dreams, hated non-magic induced sleep, hated losing control of her mind.

At the beginning with you...

Squall lay in s pool of her blood, hair fanned out around her, the locks drenched with it. As she laid there, she thought she heard the door to her apartment opening.

“SQUALL!” She jerked in shock as Seifer’s voice echoed through her apartment. Her eyes rolled towards the doorway. Seifer’s tall figure filled the doorframe and stared down at the sight before him.

“Oh Squall!” Seifer’s voice was filled with pain as he sank to his knees beside her.

“You left.” Squall accused with her soft, tired fading voice.

“I was called off on a mission.” Seifer’s voice was strident, trying to defend his actions.

“You didn’t leave a note.” Squall’s voice was softly reasonable as the blood continued to pool outside her body.

“I had no time.” Seifer was becoming high agitated, trying to explain his actions to the dying brunette.

“You didn’t even leave something to prove you’d been …” Squall died then, died arguing, died without saying her feelings, died without a last kiss, hug or even touch.

End.
