Heart hurts
This story isn’t really taking place any special time, just randomly at Prima Vista XD
Vivi watched the clouds passing by the ship as it gracefully floated through the evening-sky.
He turned around when he heard the happy voice of Zidane, talking to Blank about something. Blank....he was leaning against the railing, listening to the blonde’s babbling.
Ever since he had been convinced by Zidane to go with them for a while, Vivi had grown more and more fascinated by the redhead. He hadn’t really got to know everyone especially well yet, and all he remembered about meeting Blank last time was when he got petrified in Evil forest.
Even if everything was alright now, he still felt a little quilty for not have done anything to help. But then, he guessed everyone had thought about it....it hadn’t been anything he or anyone else could’ve done.
“Hey Vivi!” his thoughts were interrupted as Zidane yelled at him. “We’re gonna eat dinner, come on!”
“Uhm....okay....”, the mage replied quietly and followed the two thieves down below deck.
When everyone, including Baku, Cinna, Marcus, Zidane, Blank and Vivi himself had taken a seat each around the table, Marcus and Cinna immediatly started joking and laughing.
“Shut up and eat!” Baku’s rough voice made Vivi jump, but then he grabbed his fork and poked the food on his plate, not that it didn’t seem edible, it was just that he’d lost his aptite. When Blank snickered, obviously because of Marcus and Cinna, Vivi looked up at the boy, his heart jumping a little.
He just felt happy being around Blank....he just didn’t know why and that made him uncomfortable.
“Hey Vivi, aren’t you gonna eat?” he jumped and blushed when he realized he’d been staring at Blank.
“Wh...what?” Vivi questioned Zidane. The others were quiet, watching the two boys conversation.
“Something wrong kid?” Baku asked from over the table but Vivi just shoke his head miserably.
“Mr. Baku...the food was delicious, but I feel really tired....may I be excused?” the others watched with worried expressions as the little mage made his way downstairs, not waiting for permission.
“....what’s wrong with him?” Marcus wondered and frowned. The other four sat in silence for a while.
“I’ll go and check on him”, Zidane raised from the table.
“No, you don’t, eat your food, I’ll go!” Baku ordered, but Zidane was already running down the stairs.
“Damn...........What are you waiting for?! Eat!” Baku yelled and those who remained by the table quickly did as they were told.
Zidane slowly pulled the door to the bedroom open. Vivi was sitting on the lower bunk of one of the beds, burying his face in his arms. Sneaking over to his friend, the blonde sat down beside him.
“Vivi.....what’s wrong?” he asked quietly. The mage moved a little and then looked up at him with a sad expression. There was silence as no one spoke, and Zidane still awaited an answer.
“I......I don’t know......it’s just.....”, Zidane looked around the room a little.
“just what?” Vivi locked eyes with him, then looked down again.
“It’s just...this......we..weird feeling in my chest...”, Zidane’s eyes grew wide as he sat a little closer.
“Does it hurt?”
“No......or somewhat......”
“So.....it hurts sometime....and sometimes not?” the blonde asked, a bit confused at the moment.
“Yeah......so...sometimes I feel happy in there.....”, the younger boy gave a small smile.
“Can you describe when or where exactly, you feel weird...?” Vivi blushed a little but tried keeping his voice steady as he started speaking.
“Well.....I don’t know why....but I feel happy when I’m...around Blank....and...”
“Oh...god....”, Zidane stuttered with wide eyes. “Yo..you like Blank?” he felt a blush starting to spread over his face.
“Uhm....well....I guess so....”, Vivi sounded a little hurt at Zidane’s sudden change of voice. Maybe it was wrong of him to feel happy around someone.....but it felt so right in some way...still, he had never felt like this before.
“Vivi.....I think the problem...is solved...”, the blonde said firmly and sighed.
“It is?” The little mage sounded surprised, yet a little happy over that his friend seemed to have solved the whole thing.
“You’re in love with Blank.....”, the thief stated. Vivi’s eyes grow wide as he stared at Zidane, confusion could clearly be seen in his eyes.
“I’m in love?” this was more a statement than a question. He blushed slightly, but Zidane just smiled at him.
“....Wow.......”, he grinned. “I’ll go get Blank.”
“No!” Vivi’s hand shot out to grab the other boy’s arm. “Don’t say anything”, he pleaded.
“I won’t....don’t worry Vivi, it’s gonna be just fine!” Zidane exclaimed happily, seemingly enjoying this.
“Oh no....what have I done?” Vivi thought as his friend went out the door. He crawled back into the corner of the bed, straightening his hat a bit.
-Upstairs-
The others had recently finished their meals and were just talking a little, when Zidane appeared from downstairs, wearing a smile on his face.
Cinna blinked in confusion as he looked up at the boy and Marcus was about to open his mouth when Blank did.
“Was he alright?” he raked the remaining food on his plate, together with the fork.
“Yeah, actually....he wanted to talk to you, Blank!” Zidane sat down at the table, grinning sheepishly at his friend. Blank stopped chewing and looked up at the blonde.
“....What for?” he couldn’t for his life remember when he and that little mage had come along especially well.
“Oh...I don’t know...”, Zidane smiled.
“Don’t tease him...”, Baku told the boy and gathered all the plates in the middle of the table, to be left to ‘take care of themselves’.
“Well.....I guess I should check it out then....”, Blank was still confused, but stood and started walking downstairs.
“Yeah...that’d be a great idea!” Zidane called after him. As their ‘brother’ disappeared, Marcus leaned forward, looking around, in case Blank would suddenly come back.
“What was that all about?” he whispered and the others leaned forward as well.
“You’ll see...”, Zidane whispered back with a grin.
“I wanna know....”, Marcus whispered back.
“Why are we whispering?” Cinna whispered and the other three sighed heavily.
-Downstairs-
Blank slipped into the bedroom and noticed Vivi on one of the beds, but he didn’t seem to have noticed him, or maybe he just didn’t care.
“...Vivi?” he made his way to the bed and sat down. “Are you okay? Zidane said you wanted to talk to me about something....”, the redhead hesitated a little and watched as the mage raised his head.
“Uhm.....no....I never said that...”, he blushed a little as he looked at Blank.
“....Okay.....I’ll be leaving then...”, Vivi felt his heart sink and grabbed the older boy’s arm.
“NO!” the thief jumped a little at the unexpected outburst. “.....please.......”
Blank sighed and waited for Vivi to continue, but he didn’t.
“Well.....what is it then?” he noticed the boy blushing and started feeling a bit uncomfortable about what the mage really wanted with him.
“Uhm.....see.....I don’t know......Uhm.....I think I like you....”, he trailed off quietly. When he looked up, Blank had stiffened, his mouth half open and a look of confusion on his face.
“I’m sorry....”, Vivi sniffed and Blank swallowed hard.
“.............It’s okay....”, came the long awaited answer. Vivi’s expression changed to a sad one.
“I understand....if you think I’m......If you don’t want to be near me.....I just had to.....”, the little mage looked as if he was about to cry.
“..No! It’s not like that......but.....how...when?” he shifted uncomfortable where he sat. Vivi sighed.
“I don’t know.....it just started recently......I didn’t know it was......love...”, Vivi blushed again. “So I didn’t say anything....” the little mage buried his face in his arms again.
“Shit........”, Blank sighed. “Come here....”, he pulled Vivi into a hug, feeling tears running down his chest.
“I’m sorry....”, Vivi sniffed. Blank chuckled a little.
“Don’t be.....I’m glad you told me...”, he patted the younger boy’s back, before hearing a muffled voice and Vivi pulled away.
“Uhm....can.....can I kiss you?” Blank blushed at the question. He didn’t want to give the other one false hopes, but still, he didn’t want to make him feel bad either.
“...uh.....sure....”, he said quietly and was surprised as Vivi threw his arms around his neck, pressing his mouth against Blank’s.
please review and tell me what you thought about it. I know, weird-ass pairing, but I just felt like writing it anyway ^^
