Yesterday
"He's a stranger to some / And a vision to none / He can never get enough, / Get enough of the one
"For a fortune he'd quit / But it's hard to admit / How it ends and begins / On his face is a map of the world / (A map of the world) / On his face is a map of the world / (A map of the world) / From yesterday, it's coming! / From yesterday, the fear! / From yesterday, it calls him / But he doesn't want to read the message here
"On a mountain he sits, not of gold but of sin / through the blood he can learn, see the life that it turn / From council of one / He'll decide when he's done with the innocent
"On his face is a map of the world / (A map of the world) / On his face is a map of the world / (A map of the world)
"From yesterday, it's coming! / From yesterday, the fear! / From yesterday, it calls him / But he doesn't want to read the message / He doesn't want to read the message / Doesn't want to read the message here

--"From Yesterday" 30 Seconds to Mars
Even with his wounds healed he could still see the burns, the bleeding, if only in his head. He could still feel the phantom aches and pains. In the night he calls out for help, help that didn't come until it was nearly too late, in the morning he feels ashamed and doesn't show it. During the day he hides it so well, but they know, if only because of his cries at night.
He admits, if only to himself, he fucked up, severely, but what can he do about it? Did he really deserve all of this endless torture? The pain, the hurt, the marks that even materia couldn't heal?
Diamond Weapon may not have killed him, but it had destroyed everything he worked so hard for, even his own mind. He hid the cracks, with an impenetrable facade, but the Turks knew. Despite not even having the resources to sign their paychecks available, and no access to his money to pay them, anyways, Tseng, Elena, Rude and Reno had stuck by his side.
"It's our job, sir," Tseng had said while Rude and Elena stood stiffly by his side.
Reno, on the other hand, just grinned and said, "It's not like any of us have anything better to do," which caused the three more professional acting Turks to roll their eyes and glare at him.
Rufus leaned back in his wheelchair, snapping out of his daze at thoughts of the loud mouth red-head. Rufus often found himself reliving his past vividly, not seeing the present. He had been alone in his office, his rooms at Healin, the premier hospital for geostigma patients, when he went into one of his waking dreams, now, however, Reno was in his office.
"How long have you been here?" he asked coolly.
"Long enough to see what you try to hide from us, not that you're very successful," Reno said with a shrug, coming across the room and standing before the desk. "You know, boss, we're all worried about you, even me," he paused before amending, "especially me."
"Oh, your concern is touching," Rufus replied just as coolly as before, if not cooler, "but you have nothing to worry about, I'm just fine--"
"BULLSHIT, YOU ARE," Reno shouted at him. The anger in Reno's eyes was palatable and it shocked Rufus to the core. He had never seen any of his Turks angry at him; suddenly he remembered that Reno was the same person who pushed the emergency plate release button with a smile on his face. Rufus wondered when the other three were going to storm in and subdue the insane red-head.
When the others didn't come in he looked at Reno, a bit of fear in his eyes. "Tseng and Elena went to Edge to go shopping; Rude is out following your orders. I'm the only one here to guard you."
"I feel so safe," he replied, voice dripping sarcasm.
He was not expecting Reno to slam his fists into the desk and lean so close that he could feel hot breath against his face. He could smell the cigarettes Reno smoked on his breath, but no alcohol, the Turk wasn't drunk for once. "I'm sick and tired of you 'holier than thou' attitude, boss," he said loudly, still glaring. Rufus was now showing a lot of fear. Suddenly Reno's expression changed from one of anger to one of caring, he reached up, balancing his weight on one hand and tenderly stroked Rufus' cheek, "You're afraid of me," he whispered.
Rufus was nearly floored by Reno's mood changes; he had to strain to hear the whispered words. "You don't need to fear me, I'd never hurt you."
"Fine job you are showing it," a little of Rufus' normal attitude was coming back.
Reno retracted his hand and stood up, glaring, again, "Fuck you," he said. "I met what I said when you asked us for our reason staying by your side, but what I met was that none of us have anywhere else to go. We can't go out in public without being chased down streets for our association with you," Reno had moved around the table and Rufus had swiveled his wheelchair around to keep his eyes on the crazy red-head, but to put emphasis on the word "you" he poked the blond in the chest. "Despite the majority of the world thinking you're dead, we don't peace. The least you can do is be a little friendly to you."
Reno was always the most emotional of the Turks, even the ever emotional Elena didn't show as much emotion as Reno did. Now the Turk was close to tears.
"I have no reason to be friendly, Turk," Rufus said.
He was shocked when he found the chair pushed solidly against the wall. "Don't you think after you nearly died that a change in who you are as a person is in order? You're haunted by Diamond Weapon, even if you try to hide it during the day, you can't hide it at night. You fucking scare us at night, those screams, we're surprised you can talk in the morning." Reno's emotions were changing faster than, Rufus suddenly realized he had nothing to compare it too.
"What do you plan to do to me?" Rufus asked.
"I planned to do nothing, but I guess I'm going to have to make you friendly," Reno murmured so softly Rufus nearly thought he had imagined it. "I suppose, I have to show you how to change," with that suddenly Reno's lips descended hungrily on his own.
He gave a shocked gasp as the air seemed to be knocked right out of him by the force of the kiss. He raised his arms, intent on pushing the red head away, but instead grabbed a hold of the unzipped jacket and pulled him closer as Reno's tongue had dove into his mouth and one of Reno's hands had came to rest against his crouch. He moaned into the kiss as Reno's hand stroked him through the cloth of his pants. Despite how much he wanted to be angry at Reno for his blatant show of disrespect, he couldn't be angry at the man who was stroking him so deliciously.
Reno pulled up from the kiss and moved to kiss and nip along his jaw and collar bone, as his suit jacket was pushed away. After making as much of Rufus' shoulder's visible as was possible, Reno began to fumble at the fastening of his boss' pants. Finally getting them open Rufus lifted his hip so that Reno could push them and his underwear down.
The lips that had been leaving purple bruises that had nothing to do with geostigma left his shoulders as Reno sank to his knees and wrapped them around the head of his cock. Lips formed a tight ring around his shaft as they moved up and down, bobbing around his erection. There was no pause as Reno deep throated him, humming some nonsensical tune that he had never heard before.
Rufus looked down and saw Reno staring up at him, he looked further and saw the red-head's own hands wrapped around the erection he was sporting, pumping himself in time to his bobbing. Rufus watched entranced as Reno pulled his head and hands up around their cocks, his tongue swirling the head in his mouth as his thumb made a similar motion, swirling his own pre-cum around. One of his hands reached out and entangled itself in Reno's hair attempting to gain some control over the situation, Reno just smirked and hummed a sound that, had Rufus been thinking straight would have sound like "Un, un, un."
As it was all Rufus could think about was the tight heat surrounding his cock as he came with a shout, all remnants of his facade gone. Reno swallowed several times before releasing Rufus' erection and pulling a handkerchief out of his pocket. He wiped them off and tucked himself back in before smirking and saying, "See, it wasn't that hard to be friendly." He reached forward and pulled Rufus' pants back on him, tucking him in and fastening them again before pushing him back to his desk. "I'll be back later with dinner."
Reno was leaving before Rufus spoke, "It doesn't hurt for once," in an amazed voice. Reno wasn't even sure he was being spoken to.
"That's the power of love, boss," Reno said before disappearing.
