In the Beginning

Angeal heard the sound of taunting children and a crying boy. He paused his pre-teenage training and saw three boys laughing at another boy who looked like he'd been pushed down. He was crying, trembling. Angeal fumed at the sight, storming over there, "Hey!"

The ringleader looked at him, "Yes?"

"Is this your idea of fun?!"

"Wanna join?"

With that, Angeal punched him square in the jaw. The other boy, shocked, fought tears in his eyes, holding his face and quietly told his lackeys to get out. Angeal smiled, "And I never want you anywhere near him again, you got that?!"

The crying boy on the ground was in shock. Angeal turned to him, kneeling down, "Hey, you okay?"

"Y-yeah."

"I'm Angeal. I live in that house, over there."

"I'm Genesis. I'm new here."

"Do you know your way back home?"

"Yeah. I live there." He pointed to the mansion at the top of the hill.

Angeal smirked, "I always wondered who would live in that mansion."

"I don't like it very much," Genesis confessed.

"Well, you can come to my house anytime you like."

"Could I wash myself off?"

"Of course."

Genesis followed Angeal inside, finding his mother in the kitchen, "Hey, mum. This is Genesis. Genesis, this is my mother."

She smiled warmly, "Nice to meet you! Where are you from, dear?".

"I live in the mansion on the hill. We just moved in last week," he said softly.

She smiled again, "Well, make yourself at home. I know it's not a mansion, but--"

"No, no! I like your house a lot! Feels cozier than my house ever does," Genesis said.

They smiled and Angeal led Genesis to the bathroom, "Wait, Angeal--"

"Yeah?"

Genesis pulled out a pad of paper and a pen, writing something down, "Here's my phone number. Can I have yours?"

Angeal nodded, taking the pen and paper from him and writing it down. Genesis smiled, "Let's be best friends!"

***
They were 13 now. They spent almost every day together, in Genesis' backyard or around Angeal's house. They, indeed, became the best friends in Banora.

It was the middle of the night when Angeal heard the phone ring. "Hello?" he answered sleepily.

"It's Gen. I can't sleep."

"What's wrong, Gen?"

"I feel--so lonely..."

Angeal curled up in bed, keeping his phone to his ear, "I'll stay on with you until you fall asleep, okay?"

"I want to live with you, Angeal. I always feel okay when I'm around you, you know?"

"Well, one day Genesis, we can get outta here and have our own little house, with all the dumbapples we can eat." He smiled as he heard Genesis yawn, "And we'll have an entire room for your books. And a huge tree we can sit under, like we do here. And we can learn how to play the cello, or maybe the harp. And we'll be heroes, Genesis..." He heard Genesis' soft snore. He smiled, "Gen? Genesis? You asleep?" No answer, just more snoring, "Okay, dear. Goodnight. Sweet dreams. I'm glad I could make you feel better...my love."

***
Age 16. A similar time of night, however, in the dead of winter. Angeal slept soundly in his bed, when the window next to his bed was open from the outside. A red leather jacket-clad figure came tumbling in on top of Angeal's legs. Angeal started, blinking a few times, "Gen? Is that you?"

Genesis smiled sheepishly, "Yeah. It's me."

Angeal sat up, "What're you—"

"I can go if you want. I just--I needed some comfort. I needed to see you. I should've called first..."

"Don't be silly," Angeal closed the window, "It's snowing out. Gen...change into some of my pajamas. I have some on that chair over there. I don't want you catching a cold."

Genesis nodded, stripping his jacket and clothes off, and putting on Angeal's pajamas. He got into bed next to the brunette, who held him close, both to warm him up and for the comfort he sought. "What happened, Gen?"

"Nothing, it doesn't matter now. I'm with you now, so it's okay. I'm sorry I snuck in your window," Genesis said.

"I told you my door's always open and I meant that," Angeal whispered.

"You never said your window was always open."

"To you, all openings are always open."

Genesis giggled. Angeal did too. Once they stopped, Genesis smiled, "I think I'll stay here forever."

Angeal smiled back, "Oh yeah? Do I get a say in this?"

"Mmm...No." Genesis chuckled.

"Well....I couldn't say no anyway."

"Good."

Genesis closed his eyes, "You're like comfort to me," he put his arms around Angeal's muscular form, "I sleep so well when we're in the orchard together napping. I sleep better there than in my own bed. Isn't that funny? When I'm in my room, I get all these terrible nightmares, but when I'm outside, curled up to you, i could sleep forever. And you know what I dream of, Angeal?" The brunette shook his head, "I dream about our future house together, and the way you move, and...kissing you."

Angeal blinked, not out of disgust, but more surprise. Pleasant surprise. "You dream about kissing me?"

"I hope you're not terribly revolted by that." Genesis blushed.

"Not at all. I actually like that idea."

Genesis smiled, moving himself up and cupping Angeal's face in his hands, "Close your eyes," he instructed.

Despite the fact that the room was near pitch-black anyway, Angeal complied. He felt Genesis stroke his cheek gently, before feeling warm, soft lips on his own. He was caught off-guard, his arms eventually finding their way to around Genesis' waist, kissing him back.

Genesis lingered, only stopping when they both needed air. He barely separated from Angeal, their noses touching, and the other man's breath on his lips. Angeal couldn't see him but knew Genesis was smiling, "Your heart is racing. You okay?"

"I've wanted that for a long time. That's all," Angeal whispered.

"You could've had me anytime you wanted," Genesis said softly.

"I was too afraid," Angeal confessed.

"You still afraid?" Genesis asked.

"No," Angeal breathed, "I don't think I'll ever be afraid again." His lips met Genesis' once more. Genesis opened his mouth, unexpectedly. Angeal's breathing quickened, kissing back with an equal passion.

***
They soon became used to spending the night together. They were already accustomed to each others' sleeping habits, from napping in the orchard. Angeal shored softly, Genesis had a tendency to toss in his sleep, especially when they slept in the mansion.

They were 17. It was Angeal's birthday. Genesis was older--not by much, but a couple of months.

They lay in Angeal's comfy bed, Genesis curled up to the brunette, holding his hand. "Angeal? You still awake, Angel?"

Angeal kissed Genesis' head, "Yes, Gen."

"I want to change my name," Genesis said softly.

"Why?"

"Rhapsodos doesn't mean anything to me."

Angeal smiled softly, kissing his temple, "Well--what would you change it to?"

"Hewley."

"People will think we're related."

"Or married."

Angeal smiled, "You'd marry me?"

"You're the greatest friend I've ever had. Of course I'd marry you."

Angeal felt himself blush a touch. He rubbed his stubble-covered cheek on Genesis', the gentle motion tickling the elder. Genesis smiled as Angeal leaned to his ear, "I wouldn't mind that. I love you, Genesis."

"I love you, too my Angel," Genesis whispered back. "And--Angeal?" Genesis had Angeal's full attention, assuring him of this with gentle caresses on his waist, "I think tonight should--be the night. If you're ready, that is."

Angeal blinked. He was expecting this to come sooner or later. They had begun experimenting not long after Genesis began staying the night with him. At first it was heated make-out sessions and dry-humping—then Genesis slipped into bed naked one night and it was all downhill from there. Angeal's hands got curious at the feel of the beautiful man naked in his bed (Angeal had never seen anyone but himself naked--intending to take it in as deeply as he could). Genesis got curious too, of course, fascinated by Angeal's powerful muscles, so it didn't take long for Angeal's clothes to be pooled on the floor.

They were naked, and they were not ashamed.

Angeal's thoughts were broken by Genesis' gentle kiss on his neck. He stroked the smooth auburn hair and leaned to his ear, "Yes, Genesis. Tonight feels right. Would you--would you take me?"

Genesis nodded, letting go of Angeal and unbuttoning his pajama shirt. Angeal held his hand, wanting to undress the other man himself, taking his time. He pulled Genesis' shirt off, placing it on the floor. Angeal, tonight, wasn't wearing a shirt, so Genesis ran his hands down the brunette's toned chest, eliciting a gasp as he played with the now-hardened nipples. "Mm, Genesis, that feels good..."

Genesis smiled, shifting his hands so one was on Angeal's hip and one was following the dark-haired treasure trail to cup the now-obvious bulge. "Does this feel better?" Genesis asked coyly.

"Ahh, yeah..." Angeal moaned softly.

Genesis pulled Angeal's pants and boxers off, and the younger returned the favor, leaving them both naked. Angeal gave Genesis a sound kiss before laying down. "Angeal?"

"Yeah?"

"Lubricant?"

"Oh. Under the pillow."

Angeal felt him reach under the pillow and retrieve the small bottle. Genesis felt his way to Angeal's legs, parting them and kneeling in the space between his thighs. "Angel, I need you to relax and put a pillow under your hips, okay?"

Angeal complied, taking one of his pillows and putting it under him. Genesis smiled, coating his fingers in lube and gently working one in, "Gen~ ohhh, that's---that's nice." Genesis smiled and added another, stretching the tight muscle. He ran his fingers along his inner walls, pleased when he found his destination, and giving it a nice push. The sound it drew from Angeal was utterly delicious, along with the accompanying convulsion. "What--was--that?!" the younger panted.

"The prostate. Feels wonderful, doesn't it?"

"That's an understatement..."

Genesis gave Angeal's hip a few gentle kisses, "Are you ready?"

"That spot--you'll hit it again?"

"Many, many times."

"Then yes, I'm ready."

Genesis nodded, thickly coating his member in the lubricant, "This'll hurt, but I promise it gets better."

"Okay."

Genesis began slowly, leaning down to kiss Angeal. He knew it must've hurt more than a little--that was the price of fruit that was forbidden for so long. Genesis suppressed a moan at the tight heat, eventually getting himself all the way in. Angeal was stifling his cries, and Genesis felt terribly guilty, "I love you, my Angel."

"I'm sorry," Angeal cried.

"Don't be." Genesis reached down to Angeal's thick cock, giving it a few firm strokes.

Angeal's body tremored, "Feels--feels good... You can move now."

"Okay, Angel." Genesis thrusted experimentally, giving Angeal a long kiss and holding his hips. Angeal moaned deeply and Genesis was driven to thrust just a bit harder, keeping back his own orgasm.

Genesis kissed Angeal's neck, thoroughly enjoying the broken moans and gasps he was drawing from Angeal's lips. He smiled as the younger's body convulsed under him, "Gen--that spot--oh my Goddess, again!"

Genesis chuckled, adjusting his angle and thrusting into Angeal's spot four or five times in a row. Angeal was practically screaming, his nails raking up and down Genesis' back. Genesis knew he couldn't hold back much longer, so he hit the G-spot as hard as he could one last time before they both screamed out in ecstasy, ribbons of pearly-white desire filling Angeal and coating both their stomachs.

Genesis collapsed onto Angeal's broad chest. Both men panted hard, closing their eyes in the afterglow.

There was a knock at the door, "Are you guys alright?!" Gillian.

Angeal furrowed his brow, "Yeah, we're just telling scary stories! We'll be going to bed now!"

"...Alright."

They heard her walk off, both of them laughing to themselves. Genesis pulled away from Angeal, laying next to him and smirking, "Happy seventeenth. You're officially a man now."

***
Four years later. Age 21.

Genesis sat in his and Angeal's shared First-Class SOLDIER suite crying.

Angeal walked in, going over to him, "What's wrong?" he sat down next to the redhead.

Genesis looked at him, "What the fuck is wrong with me?"

Angeal looked at him, confused. Genesis sighed, and from his back came an enormous black feathered wing. Angeal lifted Genesis' head, looking into his eyes, "There's nothing wrong with you."

Genesis looked away, "I'm a monster."

"No," Angeal said. He stood up, "Look at me, Genesis."

Genesis obeyed and Angeal closed his eyes and released his own white wing. Genesis looked in awe. Angeal smiled, "See? You're not a monster. And if you are...then we can be monsters together."

Genesis smiled, standing in front of the bigger man, "I love you, Angeal."

Angeal pulled him into an embrace, holding him close, "I love you too, Genesis."

They kissed, their wings wrapping around each other, "I knew you were an angel," Genesis breathed.

Angeal smiled, running his fingers through Genesis' hair, "I actually did have something I wanted to ask you."

Genesis looked at him in surprise when he let go, pulling his wing away. He took the redhead's hand, leading him to the bed and sitting down. Genesis was about to sit as well, but Angeal stopped him, taking his hand, "Genesis, you've seen me at my worst. You've seen me at my best, and all that stuff in between. I knew from the moment I first saw you, I'd be spending forever with you," he pulled a small box out of his pocket, opening it, "Would you do me the honor of spending forever with me?"

Genesis burst into tears all over again, "Yes, Angeal," he cried. Angeal smiled, putting the ring on his finger and standing up. He took Genesis into his arms once more.

"No more tears. I don't ever want to see you upset. And if this place is making you sad, we can leave anytime you want," Angeal whispered soothingly.

There was a knock on the door. Angeal kissed Genesis' forehead, "Come in!"

General Sephiroth came through the door. He smiled when he saw the duo, "So...?"

Angeal smiled, "We're officially engaged."

"Mhm, good for you guys. You belong together," Sephiroth went over to the duo, pulling them into an embrace, "I hope one day i can be with someone the way you are with each other. I was never any good with vulnerability, though."

"You'll find someone, Seph," Angeal said softly.

"I think I actually have," Sephiroth said quietly, "but let's not get into that now."

"Seph?"

"Yes, Genesis?"

"Well--will you give me away at the ceremony? You're the second best friend I ever had."

Sephiroth smiled, "Of course, Genesis. Of course."

Angeal smiled as well, "I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."

"I feel much the same way."

Sephiroth smirked, "I think I'll leave you two alone. Angeal wants sex."

Angeal blushed, "How did you know I--"

"That's not Genesis' ass you're groping."

"Oh. Er....sorry."

"I'm gonna go." Sephiroth smiled, "Don't have too much fun."

Angeal and Genesis exchanged smirks as they watched Sephiroth leave. Genesis kissed Angeal heatedly, "We don't have to run away, Angeal." More heated kisses, "As long as i have you, I'll be perfectly happy. That's the way it's always been. That's the way it always will be."

A/N: so, the Bible of all things inspired this. >.> We had to read something from the book of Genesis for school, hence the biblical references.
Another thing definitely worth noting is the song that inspired a great deal of this. Summertime, by My Chemical Romance in their new cd.-->

This version's slower than the cd version. But the lyrics are in the description and yaddayaddayadda.
Finally, I feel like i should at least note that certain parts of this were [heavily] inspired by actual events. Yeah. Thanks for reading!
