Easing the tension
Chapter 15
We drove about 2 km further down the dirt road before we finally came to the road, Tseng slowed at the edge for a moment. We sat quietly in the car as Tseng let it sit idle, whilst looking off into the distance.
“It was me Reno”
“Huh” I replied confused
“I was the one who killed Rude”
“I know, you’ve already told me, I believe just before you knocked me unconscious”
Tseng sat quietly staring ahead at the trees on the other side of the road I could see that he was tense. I shifted in discomfort from the tension in the atmosphere that Tseng was projecting. Finally not being able to stand the awkward silence any longer leant over and went to punch Tseng in the face. He quickly caught my hand in mid throw, twisted it away causing me to loose my balance and fall into his lap. I looked up stunned as Tseng stared down at me with a blank look ‘Fuck! I just tried to hit you and all you do is stare at me blankly’ I gave a huge grin trying to hide my embarrassment.
“Do you intend to stay like that all day Reno?” stoic as usual
I quickly regained my composure and righted myself back into the passenger seat.
“Sorry about that, I just couldn’t handle the tension”
“So you thought trying to knock me out was the safest option?”
All I could think in response was to give him a huge cheesy grin, Tseng stared at me like a parent would when they’ve caught you in the midst of a childish crime, a mixture of anger and amusement.
“So that is all you have to say in your defence? No big spiel about how it was for the betterment of society?”
“Nope just thought it would help, that’s all”
“Hmmm, is that so?”
Before I could react Tseng’s fist was connecting with the side of my face, propelling me into the passenger window. My face slide down the glass leaving a trail of blood as I did so, I brushed my hand against my cheek
“Fuck Tseng, what was that for?”
“I couldn’t handle the tension in the air” Tseng replied still staring ahead “Grow up Reno, I’m still your superior and I know a lot more then you do”
“I know that, it’s just … how come I’m the one who’s always gettin hit?”
“Because you act like such an immature child” Tseng turned towards me “But then again you are my immature child, Reno I won’t raise another hand to you without having good cause” he gently brushed his hand across my reddened cheek “Sorry, looks like I hit you a little too hard” he leant over tenderly kissed my cheek before moving down to my trembling lips. The kiss was soft and welcoming I could feel my body loose all tension and fear. I grabbed collar of Tseng’s jacket pulling him forward into a deeper more passionate kiss forcing my tongue into his mouth to massage his soft warm tongue. Tseng let out a moan as I took complete ownership of his sensations I could feel myself become hard just from the taste of having Tseng so close again.
Tseng finally broke the kiss gasping for air his cheeks reddened from the intensity of the moment.
“Reno I really don’t think it’s appropriate for us to be acting in such a reckless manner”
I leant forward trying to pull him back into another kiss, but was swatted away by Tseng’s quick reflexes. I sat back pouting like a child whom has just been chided for a crime that was not there fault.
“Shall we go to Rude?”
“What?” I stammered back in confusion “I thought you weren’t gonna kill me?” I could feel my stomach begin to tighten in horror
“I never said such a thing” damn fucking stoic
He turned to me giving me a warm smile that melted away any feeling of fear that was creeping up around me.
“I’m not going to kill you Reno. I just want to show you were Rude is, that’s all” he gently stroked my right cheek “I don’t want to hurt you anymore Reno”
