Chapter 15

Chapter 15

Six weeks had passed rather chaotically. Yazoo was extremely grateful that he had handled another child in the past, and could offer advice to Axys. Sweet Bahamut he loved that woman. She worked so hard. It wasn’t until five days after Zurui was born that Yazoo finally forced her to TAKE a NAP. She never asked for his help, always content to figure things out for herself. She was a warrior. She was HIS warrior.
Cosmo Canyon had welcomed another child that day, too. The excitement had proven to be too much for the young princess of Wutai, and she had welcomed her child less than a full day after Zurui was born. Vincent and Yuffie had decided to let the sex of their child be a surprise, but Vincent was still set that it was a boy. Imagine his surprise when he was blessed with a beautiful little girl. She had blue-black hair, and her father’s nose and lips. Her eyes belonged to her mother, storm grey and as deep as the ocean. Her skin was fair and she looked like an angel. Her father gave her her name. Kagirinai Shoukin. Eternal Redemption. It was fitting, Yazoo thought.
At the moment, he was lounging on the couch in the den. Rufus ShinRa had made an appearance in Cosmo Canyon and given the new parents a wonderful gift. The deed to the mansion in Nibelheim. The mansion had been fully restored by the time that the family returned.

He had thought a lot the past few months. Even before he admitted his love to Axys. Akiko . . . Was he betraying her? Did he even have the right to a family again, after what he had done, and what he HADN'T done? He had let his wife and his child die, and then tried to destroy the whole world as his own twisted form of revenge. He could freely admit that nothing he did had anything to do with Jenova. At first, when he'd hurt Axys, he'd done it because she was a Turk, and Turks did this to him. But did he have a right to hurt her? No. She wasn't even a Turk at that time. She was just a child. It was almost ten years ago.
Good god what had he done?
Though he was proud of his wife and his son, he couldn't help that these feeling had increased tenfold AFTER Zurui was born. He had talked with his brothers about it, and all they had said was to let it go, and focus on the family he had now.
But what about Akiko? The whole reason Yazoo had even MET Axys was Akiko. Akiko and Hana.
His lack of sleep had not come from the fact that there was an infant in the house-which he was almost thankful for. Either he was extremely good at hiding his feelings (duh) or Axys was so wrapped up in their child that she didn't sense that something was wrong.
He didn't want to leave Axys, he loved her, and Zurui. He didn't regret his family, he just felt guilty. For betraying Akiko and Hana. Replacing them.
His vision started to blur as he stared at the fireplace in the den, many sleepless nights catching up to him.

Just as he was drifting to sleep, Yazoo heard a soft voice echoing throughout the mansion. It was Axys singing Zurui to sleep. He quietly stood and made his way to the nursery and stood in the door listening.
“A gentle breeze
From Hushaby Mountain
Softly blows
For lullaby bay
It fills the sails
Of boats that are waiting
Waiting to sail
Your worries away

It isn’t far
To Hushaby Mountain
And your boat
Waits down by the key
The winds of night
So softly are sighing
Waiting to sail
Your troubles to sea

So close your eyes
On Hushaby Mountain
Wave goodbye
To cares of the day
And watch your boat
On Hushaby Mountain
Sail far away
From lullaby bay.”

She continued humming softly, rocking their sleeping son in her arms. Yazoo’s heart swelled with tainted pride. He had never even dared to dream that he could have a real family again, but here they were. That he could ever trust fate, but here he was. He very quietly made his way to their bedroom-the same one as before-and out to the balcony. He leaned against the railing and peered out at the Nibel Mountains.

Axys gently lay her son in his crib. The last six weeks had been so amazing. Yazoo helped her with Zurui if she needed it, and even went so far as to force her to take a nap when he found her falling asleep while folding baby clothes.
Zurui was just like his father. Calm, but stubborn. Gentle, but strong.
The only thing that bothered her, was how Yazoo was acting. He acted . . .distant. At first, she thought that it was because they couldn't be together. She found him though. One night, she woke to feed Zurui and noticed immediately that Yazoo was not in the bed with her. She took care of her son and placed him in his cruib once more, and then began a quick sweep of the house. She found him when she stepped out onto the balcony. He wsa below, in the garden. He wore such a melancholy expression, and held his wedding band in his hand. But it was not the band that Axys had given him. This confused her for a moment, and then it hit her all at once.
Akiko.
'He must feel like he's betrayed her . . .' she remembered thinking. She had decided that it would be best to let him figure it out. She didn't want him thinking that he'd failed her, too.
She had a plan tonight, though. It had been six weeks, and they could be together again. She was going to show him that she was strong enough to keep him. Strong enough to survive. She had to. She had sworn the day that he told her about his past that she would never let that happen to him again.
She slowly crept to her room and found the fusama that led outside open just a bit. Rather than risk being caught, she gathered her clothes and sneaked to the bathroom, where she donned a barely-there black lace nightie. She untied her hair and let the floor-length tresses fall around her. Spectacular. She made her way back to the bedroom and outside, silently saying a prayer to the Cosmos that SOMEHOW, Yazoo would get through this.
When she reached the fusama, she suddenly felt a gnawing in the pit of her stomach that told her to stay away for the time being.
So she did.

Yazoo leaned against the railing of the balcony, plucking dried twigs from the blossomless wisteria and tossing them to the soil below.
The world flashed white.
He had heard Cloud talk about seeing an old friend of his like this, and was almost afraid to turn around. Afraid of who he’d see.

“My Love.” A soft hand came to rest on his shoulder. He didn’t dare turn around. “My Love.” The voice said again.
“Akiko?” Yazoo asked, timidly. At last he turned to face the voice.
Long auburn hair and golden skin. Violet eyes and full, lush lips.
“Akiko!”
The apparition smiled warmly.
“Hello, Yazoo.”
He was flabbergasted. “What? How? Akiko, I-“
“Relax, darling. I’m only here to offer my encouragement. I know how you feel. I only want you to know that I understand, and I don’t blame you for what happened. You were meant to meet that woman, and Hana and I were meant to die.”
“Don’t say that!” Yazoo said, “Never say that!”
“I love you, Yazoo. I know how hard it was. But Axys loves you too, and I know that you love her. It was meant to be, my love. Don’t you see? There is a higher purpose for you.”
Yazoo reached out to touch her and she backed away.
“No, my love. You must wait. We will see each other again, and you will have to deal with TWO wives when the time comes.” She smiled devilishly. "You didn't betray me. You must let go of the dead, or you will lose the living. Do not make the mistake of forsaking what you have now, for what is no longer of your world. I know that you loved me, and I know that you loved Hana. I know that you love Axys, and Zurui. You know as well as I do that they are more than just replacements. I'm not saying that you should forget us, because I don't want that. We were a part of you once. All I'm saying, my love, is that you need to let us go." She warmly once more and the bright light started to fade away.
“Wait!” Yazoo called.
“What is it, Yazoo?” Akiko’s voice echoed.
“Did you suffer?” he asked, ashamed.
Akiko’s soft, musical voice floated throughout the void. “No, my love. It was quick. Let it go, Yazoo. Move on. Do you remember what Mama used to say? 'Worry not about the past, for you still have a future.' I believe that. I understand it now, and I hope you do too. I love you, Yazoo. I know how destiny works, and I'm okay with that. I had you for a little while. Be happy, my love . . . We will see each other again.” With that she was gone and the Nibel Mountains were once again in his sight.
Yazoo sighed. She was right. He DID have a future. He had loved Akiko, and he loved his daughter, but fate had her own plans for him, and it did not include his first family. He wished he could have saved Akiko and Hana, but he also wouldn’t trade Axys and Zurui for the world.

“Baby?” Axys’ voice drifted out onto the balcony. “What are you doing out here? It’s freezing!”
He decided it would be best not to tell her about his vision, lest she think that he thought her inferior.
“I was just getting some air, Koi.” He turned to face her and his jaw hit the ground. She was wearing a tiny black lace get-up. Her hair was flowing around her body and her golden eyes shone in the night, reflecting the silver moon.
“Do you know what today is?” She asked seductively.
“No, my sweet, why don’t you tell me?” He said, gliding to her and placing his hands on her curvy hips.
“It’s been six weeks, Yazoo. We can . . . you know . . .” She nodded her head towards the bedroom suggestively.
He needed no more encouragement. He swept her off her feet and flew inside the house. He lay her on the bed and very slowly removed his clothing.
Axys lay still on the bed, watching with hooded eyes as her husband bared himself to her. “Yazoo . . .” she moaned. “Don’t make me wait for you . . . it’s been so long! I want you inside me now!”
He smiled like the devil and climbed over her, the pace still agonizingly slow. He pinned her hands to her sides and began to lavish her body with hot, wet kisses. He started at her forehead and worked his way down, deliberately avoiding her mouth, nipples, and heat. She bucked against his mouth when she felt his hot breath wisp across her core. “Please, Yazoo . . . I want you so bad . . .”
Yazoo ran his tongue up her stomach and between her breasts. Axys arched against him, trying to force him where she wanted. He nuzzled her breast and then finally-blessedly-took a straining nipple into his mouth. She immediately began to whimper and arch against him harder. He rubbed against her core with the top of his thigh and was rewarded with the single hottest moan he had EVER heard. Enough of the teasing. He had waited long enough. He was already granite-hard and in painful need of her warmth when he plunged inside her. He went slowly.
A fast, hard thrust in, and a slow withdrawal. Over and over he did this, lowering his head to engage in a passionate kiss.
“Oh yes, Yazoo . . . I love you . . . OH! No! Don’t stop!” Axys cried desperately when he pulled away. He only smiled and sat up, crossing his legs. He pulled her on top of him and forced her to wrap her shapely legs around his waist before thrusting inside her again.
Sweat dotted his brow as he watched the beauty rocking atop him. Her head was thrown back in rapture, the pale “J” shaped scar standing in sharp contrast to her heated skin. He leaned down and ran his tongue across it.

Axys wrapped her arms around his neck and buried her face in his silky hair. Her fingernails dug into his back as she urged him to move faster. He complied, lifting her up and dropping her down on him rapidly. She could feel the knot tighten and she knew she was close. Her head snapped up and she stared into Yazoo’s eyes, knowing how it affected him, seeing her come.
He stared right back and she could tell that he was as close as she was.
“Come with me, Yazoo. Let me see you!” She breathed. He nodded his head, still thrusting inside her mercilessly. The knot inside Axys snapped and she cried out as orgasm washed over her trembling body. Yazoo tangled his fist in her hair and forced her lips to his, ravaging her mouth with a low moan, all the while staring into her lovely eyes as he too found release. He jerked once more before he was still. Their kiss went on, slow and lazy until Axys had to pull away and gasp for breath.
Axys panted. “I love you, Yazoo.” She said, pulling him down to lie across her. He let her move him around, content to lie draped across her flushed body. “I love you too, Axys.” He answered. He lay still for only a moment, before jumping back to action when he felt Axys’ breath even out. She was falling asleep.
If she thought she was getting away that easily after being without her touch for that long, she was crazier than he was.
“Oh no,” he said, crawling up and kissing her awake. “I’m not finished with you, yet, Koi. You’re going to scream my name all night long.”

Oh and she did.

(A.N. – Okay, I edited it . . . what do you think? I was thinking about going into Kadaj and Loz's past a bit int he next chapter. Delve into their relationships . . . what say you?)
