Chapter 18

Chapter 18

When the three of them had reached the lodge, they split into three groups, thinking to even the odds a bit. Axys wandered around the glacier, periodically checking her map. She was coming up on a hot springs, it looked like. Good thing, she was freezing! A few more yards, and the water came into view. She looked around, checking for any danger, and then sat down by the edge of the water. She leaned forward and let her hand rest in the hot liquid.

‘I wish that I didn’t have to do this . . .’ She thought. ‘Yazoo . . . I wish I could just kiss you . . . one more time . . .’

The hunter stalked his prey across the frozen plains, keeping well hidden and eerily quiet. The man inside fought a silent battle with the monster he’d been forced to become. He rounded the corner of a large boulder and stopped short when he saw her sitting at the edge of a pool of steaming water.

‘Axys!’ The man inside screamed. ‘Get up and run!’ Yazoo watched as his traitorous body moved closer and closer, as quiet as the Sleeping Forest.

“Stop, Jenova!” He screamed internally, “At least give her the chance to fight back!”

The voice of Jenova swirled through his mind, laughing, and Yazoo watched as his hand rose into his line of vision, and he snapped his fingers.

Axys snapped to attention at the foreign sound. She whirled around and saw the face she hoped for and dreaded at the same time.

“Yazoo . . .” She whispered.

He didn’t say anything, just drew his gun and aimed at her. She barely had the mind to dodge as his first bullet whizzed past her head, so close that she could feel the heat.

“Baby, stop!” She cried, dodging more bullets. “Remember me! Remember Zurui!” She maneuvered herself closer to him, throwing herself at him as soon as she saw an opening. “Remember this!” She said, pressing her lips to his.

His lips were cold, and hard. He ripped her from his body and shoved her hard into the snow. He bent down and straddled her body, resting Hokori against the underside of her chin. He spoke, and his voice scared her more than anything. It was filled with rage and hatred.

“Oh I remember it, alright.” He growled. “I think I might have a taste before I kill you!” He leaned down and bit her hard across the scar on her neck. When he pulled away, the “J” shaped scar was gone, replaced instead by a large bruise that looked suspiciously like Geostigma.

“Yazoo . . . don’t do this . . . I love you . . . come back to me!” Axys said, reaching up to stroke his face, and instead having her hands slammed to the ground to be held by one of his. The pressure was painful, but not nearly as painful as the blow be delivered to her face.

“Don’t touch me, filth!”

Axys looked into his eyes, searching. She found what she was looking for. Even though his face portrayed his anger and hatred, his eyes portrayed his sadness and desperation, and she knew that he was still in there, somewhere.

“Take me, then!” Axys shouted, trying to force the monster out of him. If she could anger this beast, distract Jenova, the maybe, MAYBE Yazoo could overcome her power.

“Oh I will.” Yazoo answered. He ripped her pants from her body and threw them into the hot water not far away. He then unzipped his pants, pulling himself out and stroking until he was rock hard.

“Do it then!” Axys said, spitting in his face.

He growled and punched her again; his fist splitting her perfectly shaped lips. She turned her head and spit blood, staining the white snow.

Seeing the blood, Yazoo hesitated, fighting harder against himself. “Axys . . .” He said, sounding like he was in pain. “You have to get away!” He looked at her and she saw a stray tear slip from his eye. His body was once again wracked with convulsions.

“Yazoo!” she said, worried.

He looked at her again, the evil sinking back into his eyes. “I love you . . .” He said. And then he was gone, and the monster was back. He hit her again.
“Thought that was pretty funny, didn’t you, bitch?!” he snarled. He thrust his hard cock into her unprepared body and laughed when she cried out in pain.

“That’s right . . . you always moaned so loudly . . .” He leaned forward and bit her again. Then again, and again. She cried out each time his teeth ripped holes in her otherwise flawless skin.

All the while he forced himself on her, he sobbed inside, fighting desperately to stop his actions. She wasn’t helping, as with every comment she made, it only angered Jenova even more.

'Come on, it's working!' Axys thought. 'He was himself again, for a second! Maybe just a little more!'

“Is that the worse you can do?” Axys taunted, bringing her leg up to press him against her. “The REAL Yazoo can do SO much better!”

Her words were doing the exact opposite of what she hoped they'd do.

He hit her again, and thrust even harder. He pressed Hokori to her shoulder and fired a round into her body. She screamed and used the added adrenaline to free one of her hands and swing hard at his chest. That was the worst thing that she could have done. Inside, Yazoo fought harder than he had ever fought for anything in his life to stop from killing her on the spot. The surge of pain that he felt for his actions did little to help his wife. He lost the battle and saw blackness.

“You little bitch!” the monster screamed, and Axys was truly afraid. There was no trace of Yazoo at all, only rage. She screamed as he thrust mercilessly, trying in vain to push him away. He pulled Hokori again and put a bullet in her side.

She was beginning to feel lightheaded, and knew she wouldn’t be conscious much longer. The look on the monster’s face said that he was close to his limit, and she had to see it through. She used the last of her strength to yank his head toward her and press her bloodstained lips to his. She poured every ounce of her soul into the kiss. The love. The devotion. The passion. The fear. The hope. The acceptance. Forgiveness.

Her hands dropped from the sides of his face as he jerked hard inside her one more time.

“I love you, Yazoo.” She said weakly, watching with no fear as he drew his gun to her chest. Mercifully, the loss of blood and the intense cold got to her and she passed out before she could watch him kill her.

A single shot sounded throughout the darkness of the blizzard.
