Vibrant Roses

The roses were vibrant and full of life, much like their love. They had been chosen with love and care by calloused hands that had destroyed so many lives. These hands were no longer for killing, but for loving. A creature of true beauty Sephiroth was, with a truly new purpose and a new life with the one that he loves, Vincent Valentine.

Sephiroth walked in the door, acting like a small child that had gotten a cookie.
“Vincent look!! I brought flowers!” a very excited Sephiroth exclaimed.
Vincent smiled, “Their beautiful Sephiroth, just like you.”
Sephiroth blushed softly, “but their still not as beautiful as you.”
Vincent smiled, “What Midgarian crack are you on?”
“No crack, only my love for you,” Sephiroth smiled as he got a vase for the fresh velvet-like roses that he had bought. “I’m going to get more roses to spruce up the place, I’ll be back soon. I love you Vinny,” Sephiroth said as he gave Vincent a quick kiss and walked out the door.

Vincent was trying to figure out what he’d cook for dinner when a knock was h on on the door. Vincent opened it and warmly greeted his friends and former teammates. “Hello everyone, won’t you come in? I shall make tea.”
“No time, were in a hurry,” Cloud stated. “We wanna talk to you. Let’s go to my place. Don’t worry it won’t take long,” Cloud assured his friend.
Vincent nodded and wrote a quick note telling Sephiroth that he would be back shortly, then locked the door and left with Cland and his companions.

Sephiroth arrived home an hour later. He read the note that Vincent had left, put the newly bought roses into another vase, and started dinner to surprise his love when he arrived home. An hour later, dinner was finished and Vincent was nowhere to be seen. Sephiroth looked to the windowsill where he had placed the vase with the roses. A single rose was wilting, its petals falling off, the stem drooping as it died. Sephiroth rushed over and put a glass of water into the vase. “Perhaps I didn’t water it enough..”

Hours passed, dinner was put away and Vincent was still gone. Sephiroth tried to assure himself that Vincent was alright, “Maybe be stayed with Cloud, they did go through a lot when I was mad after all…” An hour later, Sephiroth went to bed, worrying over his love, his life, Vincent Valentine.

Dear Diary,
Vincent hasn’t returned. He left a note saying he would be back by noon, but its midnight now!! Oh God, I hope he’s alright.
