Ugh. God. I knew the shitty incest stories would pop up the minute they announced Advent Children. Fuck you Square for giving the brainless fangirls more fodder to chew up and shit out.


I have decided to post why I put SEMI-INCEST in the title instead of just incest. In fact I think I should just remove it completely.
In my mind I do not see the three SHM as actual brothers. If you have seen the movie you will notice that they call Cloud "brother" when they are obviously not related. Kadaj also tells the children "We are all siblings because of Mother's cells within us." Neither of Sephiroth's true parents have silver hair or are as stately as Sephiroth (Hojo's a joke c'mon!!) If you will closely examine the SHM they don't really resemble each other, with the exception of Kadaj and Yazoo and mainly because their body types are similar.

They never really explain how the SHM came about. They are obviously in contact with Rufus as Kadaj has his phone number! Is it possible they've been involved with Shinra Co. all along?

So, here is my theory. The silver haired men were produced as a fail safe, sort of a back up plan if you will. They were created in the same way that Sephiroth was, taking a mother and exposing the child to Mako and Jenova's cells in the womb. If you take my theory into account then it easily could be that they are not truly related, and if so only loosely and through Jenova who is nothing better than a parasite. They were raised similarly to Sephiroth, but since Sephiroth was the main experiment they didn't get near as much attention. They may or may have not known each other before AC, though I suspect especially because of the age similarity between Yazoo and Loz that they were created in different labs because of the simple fact of all of the work and attention they would need to cultivate their potential and other children would get in the way, plus if one were discovered you'd have two more stashed away somewhere.

So based on this theory they call each other Brother because they have a brotherhood. They have a common goal. They are also so tied up in Jenova and "her" plans that calling each other "brother" seems natural. She connects them, binds them, and rules them, she is their "Mother" and so they are brothers. Although it is very obvious that she could not have bourne them herself because she was little more than a head and a torso and some pieces of arms at the time that they would have been born.
